JINX

"his name is Phoenix. He has a large group following him, that's why i need you to do this." Jinx heard Silco's voice, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, she wondered who he was talking to.
Jinx tried to open the door so she could peek it open but it was locked, Silco very rarely locked his office, unless, he was talking to someone he didn't want Jinx to know about.

"Why do you want him dead, what did he do?" who is that, her voice... why did she recognise it.
"that is none of you're concern" Silco turned around in his chair "hmm, if you want me to do this, i'm gonna need to know the reason. I need a motive" "hm, what you need, is to do as told. You don't need to know the backstory. Just get. the. job. done." Silco's words were venomous.

River stared silently at him, as much as she wanted to punch him in the face, or shove her knife into his throat. She knew better, Silco ruled the undercity, River couldn't.
The two continued to stare at each other "I guess we have a deal then." River smirked.
Silco hummed in satisfaction, he leant forward and slid for a bag of money. River took it and looked in the bag.

When she noticed that it wasn't all there she stared up at Silco "you'll get the rest after i know the job is dead. I guarantee." Silco told truthfully, River stood up and stared at him "if you pull some weird shit. I'll come for you. I don't care who you are or what would happen to me." River whispered menacingly.

River left his office, leaving Silco to stare at the door, he knew that she was the right person to go to.

As River left the office, Jinx was there, hiding behind the wall of the hallway. River went the opposite direction meaning Jinx couldn't see her face at all, Jinx stared at her from behind. She analysed the way she took each step, she was tall, really tall. And her hair... it was blonde, almost white. It was so familiar, it was to much like Rivers.

Jinx's eyes were wide with curiosity but filled with grief and yearning. Jinx's eyes wandered down to her hands, she noticed a brown leather bracelet with a sun charm dangling from it. Jinx's eyes trailed down to her own wrist.

"No" Jinx whispered tearfully "it can't be" Jinx looked beside her. She saw River, she saw her sly smirk, she saw her icy blue eyes and her platinum blonde hair, she saw her freckles that she could only noticed from inspecting every tiny detail about her. She saw her pupils dilating and her eyes widening ever so slightly. Jinx's eyes glossed over when she saw River's hand slowly graze her hand.

She tried to grab it, she tried again, she tried again and again. But she couldn't, each time she tried her hand went through Rivers. It looked so real though, it felt so real. So real there was no way River wasn't standing next to her.

Jinx closed her eyes as a silent sob left her lips, she opened her eyes again and she was gone. She was never there.
She couldn't have been, because... River was dead. She died in her arms, she remembered every detail about it.

She remembered River's eyes dropping before they finally closed, she remembered the way Rivers skin felt, it was warm and damp with tears, there was blood on her hands, the blood was warm and thick, Powder didn't even notice it at the time.

Jinx gasped for air, she scratched at her throat and she ran, she ran and ran until she ended up at her hideout. She dropped to her knees "i was saving her. I was- I was helping. No. no. no" Jinx sobbed, she hid her face in her hands like it would protect her "you killed her" Mylo whispered in her ear "i didn't, i didn't, i didn't" Jinx whispered over and over again.

"She would still be here if it wasn't for you Powder" Mylo said her name like it was a curse "We were getting out, and then... you jinxed us. We'd still all be alive. Vi. River..." Jinx breathed in anger and tried to run away from him, but he followed her.

"YOU KILLED HER. YOU KILLED HER. YOU KILLED HER. YOU KILLED HER." Mylo screamed at her, Jinx screamed with her hands covering her ears. Then it all went silent "it's ok Blue. I'm here now" River whispered, Jinx slowly opened her eyes and dropped her hands. "I'm not dead? i'm right here. I'm right next to you" River was whispering, like if she spoke any louder Powder would break.

Jinx started to cry, she cried because she knew it wasn't real. River's presence was cold, her eyes were dull and lifeless. Jinx wished more than anything that it was real. There was no limit she wouldn't break for River to be able to be with her.

"Mylo lied" River said, Jinx started to breathe harder, she grunted and shot up onto her feet, she equipped her mini gun and uncontrollably fired shots. She closed her eyes she wouldn't have to see what she ruined. She needed it to end, she needed it all to stop. It had to. It had to!

River stopped in her tracks, she could hear gunshots. "What?" she whispered under her breath. She shook her head and walked off, deciding not to think about it. But she had a gut feeling, she had a feeling that she couldn't explain. She had a feeling she hadn't felt since... Powder. She didn't know why, she wanted it to go away but she also wanted it to stay forever. She wanted to capture it and keep it forever.

But it meant nothing if Powder wasn't in front of her. None of it mattered.

"Are you going to tell her?" Sevika questioned Silco, she was sat at the couch in his office, a cigarette resting flimsy between her fingers. Silco sighed and put his hand in his forehead "no." he paused. Sevika sighed in dissatisfaction "but... I won't hide her away." Silco finished.

Sevika stared at Silco, she hated Jinx. But she loved River and she wanted them to find each other again. But it was for her own selfish reason. Sevika wanted to see her again. Badly. She missed her, each day that passed the guilt she held deep within her, grew with every second that went by. "ok" she whispered before going to leave his office.

"it might be sooner then expected, but not quite how you anticipate it to play out."

authors note
sadly another short chapter, but hopefully the next few chapters make up for it!
Also season two starts to come out tomorrow! which i am SO excited for.
But do you guys think that once i've finished writing season one i should include season two in this book or make it an entirely new story?

(also just realised that by the time i post this chapter season two would've already been out but whatever!"
