RIVER

River had been under the care of Vander for three weeks, everyone started getting used to her and River was starting to feel less awkward around them. River recognised the sibling like relationship with everyone. Powder and Mylo would constantly bicker and fight, Claggor would try and make their words seem less harsh and Vi would yell at them which would make them all shut up.

It was becoming a usual thing for River and Powder to draw together, Mylo would make fun of something about River (usually the way she speaks) then River would insult him, leaving Mylo not knowing what to say and brooding.

Aside from Powder, Claggor was the first to notice Rivers struggle with reading so Claggor took it upon himself to try and help her read more clearly. At first the two were shy and unsure about each other before they realised that they got along pretty well.

And with Vi, she would take River to the arcade with her to see how she fought. At first Vi only took her to the arcade because Vander told Vi that it was her responsibility that River knew how to defend herself and she didn't feel excluded in her new home. Vi was annoyed at first but when they started Vi was pleasantly surprised with River.

Vi expressed her surprise which made River annoyed and said that she didn't know why it was such a surprise and that she knew a lot more than everyone realised. Vi felt slightly bad for underestimating the blonde so she treated her no different than she did the others. She didn't bother being easy on her and River was grateful for the change.

(though River was annoyed that Vi kept on beating her but during her time sparring with Vi, she started to improve significantly)

through the time she'd been living at the last drop. River started sharing a room with Powder which when Powder heard she was ecstatic, it became a usual occurrence of Powder leaving her room to sleep with Vi. Powder liked to sleep with someone because it made her feel safe.

And whenever the last drop closed, River and a Vander would clean up together. As time went on Vander trusted River enough to let her leave the last drop on her own if she didn't go to far, though if she was with one of the older kids she could go anywhere.

River was just happy to have the freedom to be able to come and go throughout the day. In present River was sat at a little round table in the corner of the bar, rowdy voices of everyone in the the bar becoming somewhat comforting to her as she drew in a little notebook that Vi gotten her along with a normal pencil and few coloured ones.

River was peacefully drawing her surroundings until a women interrupted "go find somewhere else to sit kid" she said firmly but all River did was stare at her with a blank expression "you find somewhere else to sit" she replied dryly before focusing back on her work.

"are you dumb. move somewhere else" she said as she placed her hand on the table and leant forward. River placed her artwork down and put her full attention on the women. She was tall and muscular, she had dark skin with dark short hair.

"are you dumb or do you need me to explain to you what the word no means" River wasn't going to move. By now more than a few strangers were watching the two including Vander who was ready to intervene if needed but currently he wanted to see how she handled herself.

"what's your name" she demanded more than asked, "River" she replied, not breaking eye contact once even though she knew that from one push River would be on the floor. I mean, the woman was huge!

"do you know who I am River" The women threatened "I don't care who you are. Go find another table because the only way you're getting me to move is if i'm dead" River said stubbornly, the women's eyebrows rose in shock as she chuckled in amusement.

She was just about ready to punch the kid but she couldn't lie and say that she was impressed about her attitude, "you've got balls kid, I like you" She said "hm. I'm flattered" River smirked "Sevika" she told her. "I would say it's a pleasure but it hasn't been"

"You've got a mouth on you kid, be careful it's gonna get your lights knocked out" Sevika threatened "yeah I know, I thought it was gonna be by you" River shrugged. Sevika laughed "see ya around kid.". Vander walked up to the girl after Sevika left.

"good job" Vander whispered to her with a wink and gave her a cup of juice before leaving. When Vander turned his back River let her self smile. The action reminded her so much of what Rio would do.

There was a lot of people who looked at Sevika in shock that she had just let a child tell her off but didn't say a word about it. Sevika could tell that her and River were going to get along just fine. After a little River got bored. Vi and Powder were out doing a small job so Powder could advance.

Claggor was with a boy named Ekko who River had yet to meet leaving only Mylo in the basement probably just lazing around. River reluctantly stood up and made her way to the basement seeing Mylo asleep on the couch with his foot hanging off the side, his mouth open as loud snores left.

River kicked his foot hard which made him jolt up, he looked at her annoyed "come with me to the arcade I need someone to beat up" River demanded and walked away "well you sure have gotten comfortable" Mylo muttered but follows nonetheless.

"I don't know why your so sure you can beat me in a fight" Mylo snarked at her "maybe because I already have" River quipped "yeah because I go easy on you" Mylo attempted horribly at defending himself, River scoffed and rolled her eyes "yeah sure you do" River said, sarcasm dripping from her tone.

"I feel like this is the nicest i've been to you and I don't like it" Mylo observed "you're right, it's scary. Stop trying to hide that your a snake" River smirked "what's that, I can't hear you with your weird voice" Mylo said with a hand to his ear.

"Is the way I speak the only bad thing you have to say about me because I have like 30 other insults about you" River replied. She wasn't joking.

"no! your freakishly tall for a 12 year old" Mylo tried coming up with an insult.

"ooo burn" River replied sarcastically.

just a short chapter to kinda introduce Rivers dynamic with everyone, River and Sevika are gonna be my favourite duo I just know it.
