xxxix. unauthorized mission

Juliet sat in the common area, waiting for the team to return from a mission. Juliet is a part of the team, but she admitted herself she doesn't feel ready to go on any sort of mission yet. She just got her bionics and doesn't know how to use them correctly. She doesn't want to accidentally set something on fire and hurt somebody. She wants to train more before going on any missions.

The hydraloop doors opened and the team walked out. The team today was Adam, Bree, Chase, Leo, Freya, and Sebastian. Sebastian was chosen to go because he has excelled the most in training, besides Freya, who gets extra training from Chase.

Chase was the first to walk out. "Nice work, guys. That mission was a total success."

Adam followed closely and Juliet approached him. "Maybe for you. Nothing caught on fire or blew up. To me: colossal failure."

"Honey, you can do that anytime," Juliet patted his chest and he smiled, giving her a kiss.

Leo nodded. "She's right, you've got heat vision and a whole afternoon ahead of you. Go make something happen."

Bob went up to Adam and Juliet. "Hey, Adam, check it out. While you were gone, I got to boogie board with the dolphins." He shows a boogie board with a bite taken out of it.

"Bob, those weren't dolphins." Juliet informed Bob, nervously.

"She's right. These are clearly the bites of an angry catfish." Adam falsely corrected and Juliet rolled her eyes.

Bobwas amazed. "Wow! Is there anything you don't know?" He walks away and Juliet frowned, turning to Bree and Sebastian.

"I don't think we should let those two play together anymore." Bree mentioned.

"I agree." Freya walked by and over to Chase, who was sitting down a cyber desk. She wrapped her arms around him from behind and kissed his cheek, which made him blush.

"Hey, Chase, on the next mission, do you think I might actually be able to do something?" Sebastian asked Chase.

"Well, you did get to do something. You watched me be an amazing mission leader. Most people would pay to see that." Chase grinned cheekily and Freya rolled her eyes playfully.

"And then demand a refund." Bree added and Juliet laughed.

"I'm just saying, the whole purpose for me going on the mission was to get some hands-on training." Sebastian reasoned.

"And you did. You handed me my flashlight and my lip balm. Thank you!" Chase smiled widely.

"I'm thankful for the lip balm," Freya grinned softly.

"But I'm one of the best student here! I've been acing all of my training exercises. Without practice how am I ever gonna be mission leader?" Sebastian reasoned and Chase stood up, facing him.

Chase smirked. "Oh, that's just it, you won't. 'Cause I'm mission leader."

Adam put an arm on Chase. "Yeah, dude, you can't be mission leader, too, because then I would have to make fun of both of you, and there just aren't enough hours in the day. I need some me and Juliet time."

"It's a necessity." Juliet pointed out.

"Hey, Chase, stop being such a control freak, okay? Sebastian seems perfectly capable." Bree objected.

Sebastian smiled. "Oh, thanks."

"My pleasure." Bree smiled flirtatiously.

They start giggling and flirting as Chase was revolted.

"Okay, our next mission: stopping that." Chase said.

"That's no different than you and Rey?" Juliet said.

Freya blushed as Chase got flustered. He sighed impatiently, getting embarrassed. "It's different!"

"It really isn't," Juliet shook her head.

"You and Adam are the same way!" Freya pointed to her sister.

"I'm not scared to admit we are very flirty," Juliet shrugged, scoffing and walked up to Adam.

"Why are you so defensive to admitting we are flirty?" Freya asked her boyfriend.

"I'm not. It's just weird when it's my sister," Chase replied.

"I get that, but Sebastian is a nice guy." Freya told him, taking his hand and kissing his cheek.

"Hey, look! I'm riding an angry catfish!" Bob yelled from outside the window, swimming in the ocean.

Adam was looking out of the window at Bob as Juliet was staring at him in shock. "Whoa, look at him go!" Adam started laughing. "Yeah, that is not a catfish."

Adam, Bree, Chase, Freya, Juliet, and Sebastian rush out of the room to save Bob.

"Bob!" Adam shouted.

~Training Area~

Chase was teaching some students a move that knocks someone ti the floor. He beckoned Freya to try it on Leo, who was frightened.

Freya easily kicked Leo to the floor without any trouble and he yelped as he landed. "Ah!"

"I wasn't ready." Leo complained.

Freya scoffed. "I was."

Chase helped Leo up while chuckling as Spin walks in and goes up to them.

"Hey! I just heard Leo got to go on a mission. Why'd he get picked and not me?" Spin asked with a frown.

"Freya got to go too," Leo mentioned.

"She's cool so it makes sense." Spin replied and smirked. "And pretty."

"And taken," Chase added impatiently, staring down the little boy and put his hand around Freya's waist. "Freya, Leo and Sebastian both excelled in their training this week. Plus, Mr. Davenport considered many other factors, like experience, bionic ability, social dynamics--"

"Too short, too young. Bye-bye." Leo interrupted Chase, waving at him.

Davenport walks in and Spin goes up to him and with Leo follows

"Mr. Davenport, do you think I'm too young to go on missions?" Spin asked Davenport.

"Yes. And too short, I thought Leo just covered this." Davenport frowned as Leo shrugged and Freya went up to them.

"But Leo always brags about how you sent him on a mission when he was young to stop a runaway train." Spin reasoned and Leo smirked as Freya rolled her eyes.

"Uh, yeah, technically he wasn't "sent," he snuck on the train." Davenport corrected.

Leo smiled proudly. "But I was there. And I was awesome."

"I doubt that," Freya scoffed and Leo nudged her rib.

Davenport looked at Spin. "Look, just focus on your training and eventually your time will come."

"This isn't fair! I'm never gonna get to go on a mission!" Spin exclaimed upset and walked off. Freya watched him leave, feeling bad for the little boy.

Davenport smirked at Leo and Freya. "See how I handled that, Freya and Leo? These kids are so lucky to have me."

"Too old, too vain. Bye-bye." Leo smiled, patting his arm and he walked away with Freya.

~Common Area~

Juliet and Bree walked in the common area with Davenport.

"Look, I got to admit, Mr. Davenport, you did a really good job designing this place." Bree praised Davenport.

"This academy is my greatest achievement. Of all the things I've built, this is the thing I'm most proud of." Davenport smiled and the girls grinned.

The hydraloop arrives and Perry steps off it.

"Morning, Don. Morning, girl and taller girl." Perry greeted and the three grew horrified at the sight.

"It's back," Juliet said with terror.

Davenport turned to the girls with horror. "The island is contaminated. Get everyone to the life boats. We can blow it up. I wasn't that attached to it anyways!"

"I'll gladly blow up with it!" Juliet agreed.

"How did you get on our hydraloop?" Bree asked Perry.

Perry walked by the three. "I dated your security guard for 3 weeks to gain his trust. When that didn't work, I knocked him out and stole his keys."

"How much ocean do we have to put between us to get away from you?" Davenport asked her.

Perry shrugged. "Ain't enough water in the world. My webbed toes double as flippers. When I spread them out, they look like baby pterodactyls."

"Why are you here?" Juliet asked, regretting why she asked.

"I retired. The school just wasn't the same without my favorite freaks to torment. I tried, but I couldn't hate the new kids as much as I hate you guys." Perry smiled sweetly at Bree and Juliet, who both gave her a look. "Anywho, a little birdie told me your robot school is looking for an administrator."

"Yeah, we're not. But tell you what, leave your resume and we'll call you if we lose our minds." Davenport frowned.

"Which will be never!" Juliet added and the two nodded.

"Oh, how about a gardener?" Perry suggested.

"No."

"Short order cook?"

"No."

"Unlicensed psychotherapist?"

"No!"

Perry sighed. "Look, I'm bored and I want to get back in the game. Just tell me what you need. I could be your barber. Nobody likes two pretty girls with long hair." Perry mimes cutting Bree and Juliet's hair. The two girls shoved her hand away disgusted.

"Do not touch the hair!" Juliet glared. "I just did it."

"Okay. The only thing we need is a security guard to keep people like you out." Bree told Perry.

Perry gasped. "Yes! I could be your head of security. I've been a warden, a guard, any position in prison, I've held it, including inmate."

Davenport went up to Perry, pushing her to the hydraloop. "Sorry, Cell Block Sally, we're not hiring."

"We aren't hiring you," Juliet muttered and a
Bree nodded.

"But you need me!" Perry protested.

As the hydroloop left, Perry's shirt is torn between the door crack as the hydraloop speeds away. Juliet gasped at this.

"Her shirt got stuck." Juliet said as Bree was shocked.

Davenport shook his head with wide eyes. "Yeah, that's the mainland's problem now."

Later, Bree, Juliet, and Davenport were testing out a new conferencing system in the common area. Davenport was on one tablet as Bree and Juliet were on another.

"Okay, let's test our new video conferencing system. I'll try and call you." Davenport told the girls and called them, but Perry appears on both tablets.

Perry smiled. "You rang?"

"Oh my gosh!" Juliet cried, looking away.

"Turn it off! Turn it off!" Bree yelled, panicking.

Donald gritted his teeth together. "How did you break into my secure line?"

The video call with Perry ends and Perry walks into the room with a helmet on.

"Better question is, how did I get in your equipment room to steal this?" Perry asked and holds the helmet in her hands.

"Give me that." Davenport grabs the helmet impatiently.

"Or into your bedroom to steal this." Perry pulls one of Davenport animal design shirts. Bree and Juliet frown in confusion as Davenport snatches the shirt hastily.

"That is island wear."

Perry nodded cheekily. "Mm-hmm. Still think you don't need a head of security?"

"No. A couple more tweaks and I'll have this place locked down tight. And we will never see you again." Davenport explained and turned to the girls. "Bree, Juliet, any parting words?"

"Mhmm! I hate you." Juliet grinned.

Bree nodded. "Yes. Get out."

Davenport nodded. "Mm-hmm."

Davenport pushed Perry towards the hydraloop as she protested.

"But you need me!"

"No, we don't." He shoves her into hydraloop

"Wait, wait, wait!" Perry called as the hydraloop doors close and Perry's shirt is torn between the doors again as the hydraloop departs.

"Her shirt again?" Juliet asked.

"Really? She needs to start wearing tighter clothes." Davenport pointed out.

Bree, Juliet, and Davenport think about what he said and immediately shook their head in disgust. "No, she doesn't."

——

Leo and Freya were in the Common Area when Freya got a phone call. She looked at it and showed Leo, who smirked.

"Put him on speaker phone."

Freya answered it. "What's up, Spin?"

"Mission Veteran Dooley speaking." Leo smugly answered and Freya rolled her eyes at him.

"It's Spin! I called Freya not you Leo." Spin rolled his eyes. "It's a long story, but Bob and I left the island and we need your help."

"What a surprise. You need my help?" Leo asked sarcastically and Freya snakes his arm

"Our help." Freya corrected him.

"We only need Freya! Just hurry!" Spin exclaimed

"Don't worry, Spin. We'll track your GPS location and be right there." Freya assured the boy and she ends the call.

"Do we have too?" Leo asked and Freya smacked his arm harder.

"Yes!" She snapped as Leo winced.

"Fine!" Leo rolled his eyes.

——

With Bree, Juliet, and Davenport, they were adjusting the settings to the security to hopefully keep Davenport out. Bree and Juliet were talking with some of the students as Davenport was fixing the settings on the hydraloop.

"Okay. I reset the security settings." Davenport told the girls as he left the hydraloop.

"So the island is finally on lockdown?" Bree asked him.

Davenport. "Mm-hmm."

"Nobody in, nobody out?" Juliet asked him.

"Yep, and I control it all with this one remote."Davenport reaches in his pocket but can't find remote.

From outside the window, Perry is swinging from a rope holding the remote. "Yoo-hoo! Looking for this?"

The girls look a Davenport with aggravation as he panics.

~The Forest~

Spin and Bob were still stuck in the mud. They went on a mission they were supposed to and got stuck in quicksand and are now neck deep in it.

"What's taking Freya so long?" Spin asked.

"Maybe she got stuck in quicksand, too." Bob replied.

"She's too cool for that." Spin grinned.

Leo and Freya emerge into the clearing where Spin and Bob are stuck.

"You're right I am too cool for that." Freya said and Spin's eyes lit up at her presence.

"Well, well, well." Leo smirked.

Spin groaned. "You brought Leo?!"

"You're in quicksand, we can leave-"

"No! No! It's fine!" Spin protested and Leo and Freya grinned. "What do we do?"

"Well, first things first." Leo snaps a selfie with Freya next to him and Spin and Bob in the background. He started to laugh. "I'm sorry, but this is hilarious."

"It's truly amazing," Freya snickered.

"Take another one, my eyes were closed." Bob said.

"Gladly." Freya said and she snapped another selfie of them. "Okay. Okay. What are you even doing here?"

"Well, we got a mission alert about--

"Wait, mission alert?" Leo kneeled down, seriously as Freya frowned. "You two went on a mission alone? Why would you do that?"

"Well, I was promised a fine dining experience." Bob reasoned.

"I just wanted to prove I was ready to go on missions. The same way you did." Spin admitted.

"That's nice," Freya smiled and Spin smiled back, "And stupid."

"Well, the only difference is, I was awesome-"

"You're not." Freya cut Leo off and he rolled his eyes, ignoring her comment.

"Anyway... and you're stuck in mud. Look, I get it. But just like Big D said, focus on your training." Leo assured him.

"Trust me, you'll get there." Freya winked and Spin blushed.

"Thanks, guys." Spin smiled.

"Aw, this would be such a nice moment if I could feel my legs." Bob mentioned.

"Right." Freya nodded and the two got up. "Grab the tree, Leo."

Leo breaks a small tree with his bionic arm and carries it over to them.

"Uh, what are you gonna do with that?" Spin stammered nervously.

"I think he's gonna put us out of our misery." Bob cried, shutting his eyes and Spin did the same.

"No, no, no!" Freya protested to them.

"I'm gonna use this as a lever to push you out from below." He puts branch down in the mud.

"I'll use my molecular kinesis to help." Freya said and added her molecular kinesis to the branch.

"Here goes." Leo said and Spin and Bob grab onto the branch. Leo uses his bionic arm to push down on the branch as Freya helps with her molecular kinesis, which hoists them out of the quicksand. Eventually Bob and Spin were both out if the quicksand and they got up, relieved.

"Freya, Leo, you saved us." Bob cheered.

"That was awesome!" Spin laughed and went to hug Freya, who backed away.

"Maybe later, kid," Freya chuckled awkwardly and Spin nodded, blushing. Spin checked his pocket. "Oh, no. I lost my cell phone in there."

"Don't worry, I'll get it." Bob hit his arm and went over to the quicksand.

"Bob!" Freya yelled.

"Wait, Bob, no!" Spin yelled.

Leo called. "Bob, no!"

Bob jumps into the quicksand and the trio sighed.

"Can we just leave him here?" Spin asked.

"It's tempting," Freya shrugged.

"I'm thinking about it." Leo said.

Later, Freya was walking to the training area when she saw Chase and Sebastian talking and getting along. She didn't want to interfere, but she stopped when she heard Sebastian ask. "What actually happened?"

Freya hid behind the pillar in the training area and listened in.

Chase hesitantly sighed. "Well, I'm probably not supposed to say anything, but the guy who created you was pure evil. His name was Victor Krane. He controlled your minds and he made you his bionic soldiers."

Freya shook her head, sighing. "Chase..."

"Why would he do that if he was our father?" Sebastian asked and Freya shook her head.

"Good question," Freya muttered.

"It was all part of his twisted plan to build a superior bionic race. You know Freya and Juliet?" Chase asked and Sebastian nodded. Freya eyes grew. "They are his biological kids and he tried turning them into his bionic soldiers. He almost killed them both."

"Wow. Why would he do that?" Sebastian asked.

"I don't know why a father would try to take out his own daughters, but they are safe and alive." Chase remarked and Freya nodded, letting out the smallest smile. "Because of him they are bionic, but Freya is also alive because of her bionics."

"So, they are my sisters?" Sebastian asked and pondered that thought. "That's pretty cool."

"Just don't tell them I told you." Chase said and sighed. "Freya would electrocute me and Juliet will light me on fire."

"I will do more than that," Freya mumbled impatiently, upset at Chase for keeping this from her

"I won't." Sebastian assured him, grinning.

"So, The only way to stop Krane was to take him out. So we did what we had to do." Chase finished explaining.

Sebastian exhales heavily, barely comprehending what Chase said. "Wow."

"Yeah. But at least you're safe now." Chase grinned.

"Yeah. I guess I'm just lucky Mr. Davenport was nice enough to take us in. And to have Freya and Juliet as cool sisters," Sebastian shrugged.

Freya felt conflicted at the moment and she left the room quickly after that.

——

~Training Area~

Everyone was in the training area for the live demonstration of the new training simulator Chase and Sebastian built. Freya wasn't the most talkative, she was thinking a lot about the conversation with Chase and Sebastian. She doesn't know why Chase would tell Sebastian what happened.

She feels like that will cause major consequences. She can sense something isn't right.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Chase Davenport and Sebastian..." Chase paused, not knowing Sebastian's last name. "Uh, last name to be determined, proudly present to you the future of bionic education: the Bionic Training Simulator."

Everyone claps.

"Now to demonstrate, we'll need a volunteer. " Chase announced.

"How about Freya? I mean, you trust this enough for you own girlfriend to use it?" Sebastian asked and Chase nodded.

Freya smiled as she approached the platform. "I'd be honored."

Chase grinned at his girlfriend as she stood on the platform.

Sebastian let out a sneaky smirk. "Go ahead and power up the mainframe."

"Sure." She shrugged and turns on the machine, but is immediately blasted across the room. She yelled as she hits the wall with a thud and falls to the ground, feeling her ankle twist underneath her. She felt a pop in her right ankle and yelled out loudly at the instant pain she felt.

"FREYA!" Chase and Juliet both yelled, rushing up to her with Bree, Leo, and Davenport.

Adam shrugged. "That's nothing. Wait till she meets the monkeys."

Freya started to softly cry, holding her ankle as Chase put an arm around her, staring at her with worry. Her foot had sharp pains spiking through it and it was throbbing.

"Rey, are you all right?" Leo asked her.

Freya shook her head, feeling the sharp pain in her right ankle increase. "No, I think I broke my foot."

"Oh my gosh," Juliet gasped, looking down at her ankle.

Chase shook his head in disbelief. "I don't get it. Our design was flawless."

"No, come on, let's get her to the medic. Her foot may be broken." Bree denied, helping her up with Juliet and Adam.

"I'll call Cassandra," Davenport said and dialed Cassandra's phone number.

Chase immediately picked her up in his arms and he carried her out of the room with the rest of the team following closely. Freya continued to cry as she was carried down the hall and Chase looked down at her with sorrow and concern.

"I'm so sorry, Freya," He apologized, angry at himself for causing this. "You'll be okay, I promise."

Sebastian called after them as the students filled out. "Good idea. Go!" Sebastian glared angrily as he watched them leave.

"We are Krane's only family. Goodbye Freya and Juliet."

Later that night, Adam, Bree, Chase, Leo, and Juliet waited in the Common Area for any news on Freya. They took her to the hospital on the mainland.

Chase has never been this distraught before, his mind was racing with all the possibilities of what could have happened to her. He is angry at himself for what he did to Freya. He blames himself for this and will never forgive himself.

Suddenly, the hydraloop opened and Davenport walked out and the five teens went up to him with Chase being the first.

"How is she?" Chase asked him.

Davenport shrugged, sighing. "They had to take her in for surgery. Cassandra is staying with her overnight. Her injury was a trimalleoar ankle fracture. She broke three parts of her ankle joint."

"Oh my god," Juliet gasped softly, leaning into Adam's body.

"This is all my fault," Chase shook his head, feeling distressed. "I shouldn't have let Freya use the simulator. I should have double checked it."

"Accidents happen." Davenport told Chase. "Freya will be okay. The doctor said if the surgery goes as planned, she should be healed in 6 weeks."

"When will she come home?" Juliet asked and Adam, rubbed her back comforting her.

"She should be released tomorrow afternoon. However, you can go see her tomorrow morning if you would like." Davenport informed them and the teens all shared worried looks, except Chase who wouldn't dare look up at anyone.

"I guess all we have to do is wait," Leo said. Chase shook his head and walked out of the Common Area, not saying a word.

This affected him more than anyone. He will never forgive himself for almost killing his girlfriend.

Up Next: Season 4

And the drama has started. I was waiting for the chapter. I had planned to have Freya get injured and to have Sebastian go directly after her and Juliet. You will see that in Bionic Rebellion and some other drama as well.

Freya's injury will also cause drama as well. As she is out of commission for six weeks and it affects her physically and mentally.

Get ready for one hectic season.
