第十九章 (Chapter Nineteen)

"Master, it's late. You should probably get some rest." I say fixing the curtains.

"I'm not tired." He says.

He turns in the covers.

"Is everything alright?" I ask.

"I don't know. You tell me." He says.

I turn to him.

"Master?" I ask.

"Are you hiding anything from me?" He asks.

"I told you I'm not." I say.

He gets up. He shows me the letter from Lucifer. He takes off his eye-patch.

"Sebastian, I order you to tell me the meaning of this letter." He says.

I let out a breath.

"Very well. I wasn't always a demon." I say.

His eyes widen.

"Demons were once human. I've been a demon for centuries." I say.

"You were a human once?" He asks.

"A rather unfortunate time in my life." I say.

"So, who wrote this letter?" He asks.

"A man I once, still, now. He offered me a deal. He has never let me out of his field of roses." I say.

"Who is this man?" He asks looking up.

I let out a sigh.

"Someone who offered me salvation." I put down the candle.

"Salvation?" He asks.

I turn. His eyes were wide. I let out a breath.

"Let's just say my life didn't have love or happiness in it at all." I say.

His eyes turn sad. Something I haven't seen in him for quite some time.

"Now then. Off to bed." I say.

I tuck him in. I blow out the candles.

"Good night, master." I close the door.
