Klaus brushed off the sand from his leather jacket, sending a scrowl heading towards the back of Elijah's head. The hybrid didn't blame Dorian, for he had warned that the portrait wouldn't send them exactly where they wanted to go.

Elijah - who was oblivious to his brother's heated scrowl - searched theย  white sanded beaches wide eyed, he turned to look at the shore to find people wailing in cages - that sat on top of a pole - as crows swooped down and pecked at them.

The older brother's jaw dropped whilst the younger looked around "Please tell me our brother didn't do this."

"No he didn't," Klaus revealed "Luciferย  I think put them there. They were already when Sabrina first arrived. From what Kol said a while back."

Elijah turned to his brother "Where is our brother then?"

Klaus's eyes ran over the shore before catching sight of a wooden sign, he pointed at it making Elijah look towards it "We follow the blood red path."

Elijah sighed tempestuously before following after the hybrid, frowning curiously "Is it always...like this?"

"Don't know." The blonde shrugged "I've only ever been in the palace. But something tells me to stick to the path."

Elijah glanced at his brother, baffled at how calm he was. The older Mikaelson pulled his suit jacket tighter around his body, trying to ignore the chilling wind.

------

"Why me?" The youngest Mikaelson brother alive whined, arms folded over his chest. It had been a slight surprise to the Morningstars and himself when an agitated Klaus and determined Elijah turned up on their doorstep.

Elijah - who was sat in an armchair wipping his handkerchief along the soul of his shoe - answered after a sigh "Because compared to us, Marcel has always been more afraid of yourself and Kol."

The brunette rolled his eyes "I thought he grew out of that."

Klaus chuckled as he placed the bottle of whiskey down, before taking a seat by the fire "Of being scared of Kol, yes. But you, no. Come on, brother. We're going to be using intermediation and fear. And to have the desired effect, we require your services."

Alvaro growled lightly "As long as I get to kill something, fine."

Marcel was holding his annual Fight Night. An event where the nightwalkers fought each other, hoping to impress the Gerard vampire. So he'd give them what they desired: a daylight ring.

"Damn, girl." Marcel grinned widely down at Felicia, from the balcony "Not bad."

Felicia smiled brightly, believing she had the chances of a daylight ring. Her victory however, was cut short by her neck being snapped. The compound fell deadly silent at the sight of the original hybrid.

"Good evening." Klaus looked up towards Marcel with a void of emotion "I'd like a word."

"What do you think you're doing?" The Gerard vampire questioned, glaring at the blonde with annoyance.

"It appears that we've interrupted a collection of filthy amateurs." Commented Elijah, as he walked though the crowd of vampires to stand next to his brother "We've come here for the girl. Give her to us or we kill everyone here. Starting with you."

Marcel was shocked by Elijah's nerve. But he couldn't have the originals walking all over infront of his people "You two got a lot of nerve coming into my home-" Klaus smirked proudly when Marcel went white as a sheet of paper.

"Your home, is it?" The king of hell remarked, eyes broadened and brows arched in disbelief as he strutted though the crowd of vampires.

"Alvaro Mikaelson." The nightwalkers instantly took a step back causing the older originals to smirk, the youngest Mikaelson arched his head with authority after stopping next to his brothers.

"The girl." Elijah's voice rang out, from the other side of Klaus "I will not ask again."

"I assume you're talking about Hayley-" Marcel shifted on his feet, keeping his eyes off the youngest original as much as possible "Yay high, dark hair, bitchy attitude. Who is she, anyway?''

"She's an old friend." Klaus cocked his head to the side as Alvaro glanced over the crowd of vampires boredly "You know how sentimental I am about old friends."

"Well, I ain't got her and before you start whining. I did pay her a little visit earlier tonight." Marcel admitted "I was feeling nostalgic. So l took a trip out to the plantation where I used to be a slave. Imagine my surprise, when I realized that the Original family of vampires had taken up residence. Your girl Hayley, answered the door. We exchanged hellos. That was it. You don't believe me? Look around. Hell, I'll even help you find her. But the question that I'd ask is, if Hayley isn't here, then where is she?"

------

Because of their invasion the fight night had been called off. And most of the vampires had scurried off. But some still hovered on the sidelines. Eyeing the three originals sat comfortably around one of the vintage tables. Waiting for Marcel to show, with his results of his promises of assistance.

Elijah eyed the vampires, whilst Klaus sipped his scotch. Alvaro let out a tempestuously though his nose. He was practically laying on his chair. The brothers attention went to gates when Ambrose wondered in.

"About time." Klaus mumbled sitting up straight, placing his glass on the table as the warlock glanced around the compound in wonder whilst approaching them, ignoring the eyes burning into his back "What was the hold up? I called you hours ago."

"Had a problem with transport." The warlock explained, accepting the glass of whiskey of Elijah, who took note of curious eyes "Not the most attractive community, are they?"

The warlock and hybrid looked towards him whilst Alvaro simply humed in agreement, Klaus gave his older brother a look "You do realize they can hear you?"

"You do realize l don't care." Elijah remarked back in the same tone, with a small smirk. Ambrose raised his brows, hiding his surprised expression in his glass as Klaus smirked slightly.

"You know, Elijah. I liked you better in that box," Marcel approached the four, popping up next to the warlock "but Klaus," the tanned vampire smiled "my sire, you I owe the world and I always show respect to my elders. If your special lady friend is missing, you can benefit from help of a witch."

Marcel paused gesturing to Sabine, who was being a escorted in by two vampires, he went to continue but Elijah beat him to it "No need, we simply require your permission. That our friend here-" he gestured to the Spellman with his hand, who smiled sarcastically "-can perform a spell."

Marcel stared mouth open slightly, before licking his lips and giving a nod "Okay. I'll grant you one little locator spell, but Sabine's the best guide in the Quarter. You need to find someone, I guarantee she's your girl."

Klaus narrowed his eyes suspiciously as Marcel made his leave "Where are you going?"

"I hate to cut this short, but the sun is coming up soon. My nightwalkers need to get inside, and I've got a city to rum. I'll leave you to track down your lost sheep." Marcel flashed a smile, before leaving.

Klaus paced impatiently as Alvaro leant against the wall, hands in pockets. Sabine was observing Elijah and Ambrose, who sat opposite each other over a map. The Spellman's hands hovered over the map, a trail of blood ran towards Hayley's location.

Ambrose lowered his hands, brows furrowed in a frown "She's in the back country. Deep in the Bayou area, way past Houma."

"I don't suppose you could be more precise?" Elijah requested after a defeated sigh.

"What's the matter, Elijah?" Klaus questioned halting his pacing harshly, ignoring his little brother's sigh - which dripped with impatient and boredom "Are you worried a bit of splashing about in the bog might ruin your expansive shoes?"

"As a matter of fact," Elijah's voice became deep with annoyance, turning to give the hybrid a glare "after my recent confinement, I could use a decent stroll through the countryside."

"There are stories of exiled werewolves." Sabine informed drawing their attention "Encampments. If Hayley went put that far, chances are, she went to find them."

"Clearly," Klaus began "she hopes to make the acquaintance of more like herself. I suppose our company wasn't good enough for her."

Damon tempestuously threw his phone in the compartment behind theย  gearbox, turning back to face the road "Knock-knock."

The Salvatore sighed, lightly throwing his head back irrated but the former immortal took no notice "Knock-knock. Who's there? The mayor. The mayor who?"

Jeremy turned his head from the window and gave the eldest Salvatore a furrowed frown whilst Damon's jaw clenched, his face was already screwed up in a frown.

"Well, who?" The Salvatore vampire questioned not even glancing at his ancestor, equally fed up as the Gilbert boy.

"No one." Silas smiled, turning his attention back to the road "That's the joke. No one's there because I killed the mayor."

"You're a dick." Jeremy stated, turning back to the window, Damon closed his eyes feeling emotionally wounded.

Damon's phone began to bounce making the vampire sigh. He was being forced to look for the anchor with his least favourite person, and was feeling under presure because of his promise to his girlfriend to get Bonnie back. The last thing he needed was Caroline adding to the pile.

He picked up the phone and answered it. He went to say some witty remark but froze in the action, at the sound of a voice he'd hadn't heard in months.

"It's me." Jeremy's head spun around as Damon's eyes broadened "I need a word."

"Alvaro," Damon closed his eyes, groaning with delight "I never thought I'd be so glad to hear the sound of your voice." Jeremy shot a glare whilst Silas glanced at him.

"Uhh, anyway. You've got a runaway hybrid."

Damon opened his eyes, brows furrowing as disbelief clouded his eyes "Tyler's in New Orleans?"

"Yes," The Salvatore could practically feel the aggravation in the Mikaelson's voice, making him suspect that the hybrid they equally despised had already pissed people off "look, I don't care what happens to him but unless Nik decides not to kill him. I simply request you or one of your lot come up to New Orleans to pick him up. And do us, all a bloody favour: keep him."

Damon met Silas' eye, the vampire really didn't want to have to collect the hybrid but a quick change of scene might make him feel better "I've got things to do, at the moment. But I will pop up there, if you see Klaus ask him to make Tyler's death exceedingly painful."

"Will, do. And if your planning on staying the night, keep out of sight and bring Jeremy."

Damon half-smirked, eyes shining wickedly "How is my darling frenemy?"

"Annoyed. Hormonal. Wants to kill the resident wiccans like the rest of us. How's things up your end?"

Damon glanced at Silas "I'll give you this, I wish it was the summer again."

"Hm. Well, see you or not. 'til next time, Damon."

"Right back at ya." The Salvatore said before the original hung up on him.

"Death offers more peace than you deserve." Klaus spat in Tyler Lockwood's face, realising his hold on the younger hybrid's heart, pulling his hand out of his chest and began to compell him "It's better to let you live and each morning, you will wake knowing that your wretched existence continues only by my will. Now go, and live the rest of your days, knowing you are nothing to me."

The original stepped backwards, letting Tyler go. The hybrid looked shaken and agonized, he went to attack Klaus once more only for a pair of hands to snap his neck.

Klaus gave his younger brother a look "Finally decided to join us."

"On the contrary, I made a phone call to Mystic Falls." The blonde raised his brows "Damon should be coming to collect...-" he threw his hand at the dead hybrid "-that, and I insured that he swore to keep him over there."

"Oh," Klaus smirked "what wonderful news."

Alvaro smirked sinisterly in response.

------

The two brothers arrived at the abandoned shack. Alvaro stood by his brother's side as revelations about siring hybrids were made. And accusations began to be thrown about.

It wasn't long before Elijah accused Klaus of being guilty of knowing that his child's blood could sire hybrids - which was false - and that he intended to use the baby to sire hybrids - which was also true.

Then Elijah started pointing the finger at Alvaro. Accusing him of being fully aware of Klaus' 'intentions' and being in league with him. But he overstepped when he started saying that he used Morgana to raise in power and, that he had his own sinister intentions towards his own child.

Hayley was hanging on his every word. Until he began accusing his little brother. She'd seen how the Mikaelson and Morningstar had interacted with one another. And witnessed his anger when Morgana and their child had been attacked.

She was more afraid of Alvaro, than any of the Mikaelsons. But, she knew he would never harm Morgana or his child. Also, she was beginning to thinkย  that he always takes Klaus' side.

"Our big brother." Klaus seethed, eyes hard as he glared at Elijah "So, you doubt our intents. Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Standing beside the noble Elijah, how can either of us be anything but the lesser sibling?"

Klaus skipped off the porch and approached their brother slowly as Alvaro's head tilted adding to what the blonde started "Liars, manipulators, bastards? You know brother, this may seem alien to you but, we've actually done some good. Us and Kol helped stop Caliban's coup, the apocalypse and an parallel cosmos from crashing into this one. Klaus," he pointed at his brother, voice turning darker by the word "helped stop Father Blackwood. But no, you don't care about that do you?" His brows were knitted together, eyes narrowed "We're truly unredeemable to you, aren't we?"

"And to Rebekah." Klaus took over, he'd noticed how convinced the werewolf was too "And judging by the way Hayley hang on your every word, it's clear she feels the same. No doubt my child will think the same."

"Brothers, if I-" Elijah began, starting to see he'd overstepped the line, but Alvaro and Klaus weren't having it. Like many times from the past, Elijah was against fire and ice, hot anger and cold anger.

The two younger siblings were both concealing something. Klaus was hiding how hurt he was. Alvaro was hiding how insulted he was.

"We have said all that needs to be said, brother." Klaus spat backing up to the porch, keeping eye contact as Alvaro moved to get of it "We'll play the role we've been given, right brother?"

Alvaro gave a nod, glaring at the werewolf and original "Like a man once said: someone might as well be the bad guys, get things done."

Without warning Klaus sped forward biting into Elijah's neck, poisoning him with his werewolf vemon. Klaus withdrew before Alvaro begun his own assault. The brunette grabbed the suited original by the shoulders before throwing him towards the ground.

Haylay screamed as he sped forward, kicking Elijah in the stomach and chest. Elijah grunted trying to grab his brother's leg only to be kicked in the face.

"You two enjoy one another's company." He spat before picking his older brother up by the ear and threw him towards the shack, Klaus simply moved out of the way before Elijah landed back first on the porch, breaking a few boards on impact "You'll have plenty to bond over once the hallucinations and dementia set in."

"Consider this all our parting gift to you." Klaus said before he and Alvaro took their leave.
