OK so ams was acting really weird like her normal self one moment and the next she acts like she's not supposed to talk to Zia? And all of her other friends were acting the same way for some reason and of course her mind wanders and things that her other so-called friends spread rumors or something about her. But she didn't want to be  thinking about the worse so she pushed it aside.

But it was finally August, Zia's birthday month and she was so excited especially since she gets to see malachi again after so long. It's been years that they've seen each other and we're surprised they had cut contact when they were younger, zee just wants to bring back the old memories so she was definitely excited.

Although she was a bit nervous about her friends showing up to her birthday party since most of them have plans already that day or didn't feel like coming which made her sad but at least she'll have family there right?

But what was bothering her the most was that she really wanted walker to be there and he isn't going to be. The one thing she wanted most on her birthday wasn't going to happen for neither of them.

Zia went downstairs feeling like she should suck it up and move on with her day because it wasn't going to be the end of the world for him so why would it be for her right?

" hey sweetheart how are you?" Her mom had asked her while fixing breakfast.

"I'm fine mom thanks for asking" Zia replied as she walked over to the couch and sat down.

"You know sweetie you can always talk to me right" Her mom questioned her.

"Yea no, I remember" Zia answered with a voice crack, anything someone says "You can talk to me" or "Are you okay?" She starts tearing up even if there's nothing wrong.

"Okay then, breakfast is ready then if you want it" Her said

"Okay thank you" Zia said which came out more like a whisper.

"Also sweetie I've been meaning to talk to you about something, I won't be able to be with you for your birthday you know that things have been busy at the office and with your father on that trip I'm booked." Her mom said in the softest voice, she can muster up.

But it didn't help at all Zia was upset, now her own parents can't make it to her birthday party? Which they had planned out for months that's just a cherry on top of the cake of people who won't make it.

Zee just looked at her with an unreadable expression and head towards her room upstairs, not saying a word to her mother nor eating her breakfast but could you blame her though? I mean how would YOU feel if nobody would agree to show up on your birthday?

I know I've could've done better but some people were rushing me so I just came up with this.🤷🏽‍♀️
Also please don't ask me when the next chapter comes out because then my mind scrambles and I get distracted
Like I know I took a long time to post this chapter and this book may seem easy to update, but it's my first book and I'm trying so.
