WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19th 1977

"Is there a charm that makes pigs fly?" Evan abruptly asks as he walks into the Slytherin common room.

"Why would you ask that?" Pandora questions.

"Mallory said that she'd go out with me when pigs fly" Evan explains.

"Oh, Merlin" Regulus mumbles, causing Pandora to giggle.

"This looks like a job for me" I declare, standing up and padding over to the Rosier boy.

"You'll help me?" Evan perks up.

"Of course" I nod, patting his shoulder as I pass him "Come along, kiddo. We've got work to do"

Evan doesn't even mention my teasing, immediately scurrying after me towards the library. The two of us spend around half an hour searching for the perfect charm before the boy next to me starts to get impatient.

"Can't we just leviosa the bloody pig?" He huffs.

"Absolutely not" I scoff "That's the pig levitating, not flying"

"How are we going to make the thing sprout wings?" He questions me.

"I'm working on it, E" I retort.

We search for a little while longer before I realise theres only one book on the shelf that we haven't looked through.

"Evan, there's a book missing. That has got to be it" I snap at him, causing him to jump up in a startled manner.

I grab the boy's arm and drag him all the way to the reception desk where Madam Pince is sat, stamping books.

"Hello" I smile politely and the woman looks up at me.

"What can I do for you?" She asks.

"There's a book missing from the charms section. Can you possibly tell me who checked that out?" I question hopefully.

"One moment" She nods, looking down at her large log book.

She flicks through the pages until she pauses and runs her finger along the paper with a soft hum.

"That book was checked out by a Peter Pettigrew" The woman tells me.

"Thank you!" Evan grins widely.

Before she can respond, the boy drags me out of the library and we start our trek towards the Gryffindor tower. As we arrive, we are greeted with the giggling trio of Marlene, Mary and Lily.

"Have any of you girls seen Peter?" I blurt out in a rush.

"He's in the common room with Remus, Sirius and James" Mary answers with a small smile.

"What do you need Pete for?" Marlene asks me.

"He has a book that I need" Evan replies, standing behind me and looking at the girls wearily.

"Could you, maybe, let me in?" I smile sheepishly.

"What would we get out of that?" Lily smirks playfully.

"A kiss?" I offer.

"That's just not doing it for me, Angel" Marlene says smugly.

"I'll do anything" I sigh, knowing that Evan needs this.

"Anything?" Lily grins.

"Angel, you don't have to" Evan murmurs, grabbing onto my arm.

"Anything, Lilypad" I agree.

"You're coming to Hogsmeade with us this Saturday" Lily tells me.

"What's the catch?" I narrow my eyes suspiciously.

"There's no catch" She replies.

"I'm not buying it" I hum.

"Do you want in the common room or not?" Marlene snaps.

"Yes, okay. I'll come to Hogsmeade with you" I cave in, causing the trio to beam happily.

Mary opens the door and I head inside, Evan clinging to me with a frightened puppy look on his face.

"You really need to grow up. Why are you scared of them, of all people?" I mutter at him.

"Marlene is the most terrifying female i've ever met and I've seen Lily when she's mad, it scared the shite out of me" Evan retorts.

"And Mary?" I smirk in amusement.

"She's sweet, but I can just tell that she bites" Evan shivers dramatically and I let out a laugh.

"Malfoy, Rosier?" I hear Sirius' voice and I turn my head to see the marauders.

"Pete!" I grin widely, ignoring the elder Black brother.

"Hi, Angel" Peter beams happily.

"You have a charms book from the library, right?" I ask him.

"Right" He nods.

"Do you mind if I take a quick look through it? I'm trying to find something" I tell him.

"For sure" He chirps, picking up a book from the pile on the coffee table and getting up, handing it to me.

"Thank's, Pete" I smile gratefully and he shrugs nonchalantly.

"Are you actually here for a charms book?" Sirius scoffs as I scan through the book refusing to look at him "Oh, so now I'm getting the silent treatment"

"Can you hear something, E?" I speak up, furrowing my brows.

"Yeah, it's like some sort of incessant buzzing" Evan plays along with a smirk.

"You can't ignore me forever, Malfoy" Sirius declares.

"Looks like you're in the dog house, Padfoot" James jokes and I can't help but let a laugh slip.

"Evangeline Malfoy is actually smiling at one of my jokes! I never thought the day would come" James exclaims.

"You talking about the day Lily will go out with you, James?" I retort.

"That is so bloody low, Malfoy. So low" James shakes his head, feigning hurt and disbelief as the other three marauders laugh at him.

"E, I found it" I gasp, showing him the page in the book.

Evan's face lights up mischievously and he grins at me excitedly.

"Mal isn't going to know what hit her" He declares.

"Now, where do you even plan on finding a pig?" I ask him.

"I already have one" He answers.

"How? Where? When?" I ramble out in disbelief.

"You don't even want to know" He chuckles, waving me off.

"What are you two little schemers planning?" Remus speaks up for the first time.

"You'll see, Rem" I smirk widely.

I stand outside the great hall, a small piglet in my arms that I can't help but fawn over.

"What the bloody hell are you doing?" The voice of Rabastan Lestrange causes me to look up from the animal in my arms.

"Nothing" I blurt out.

"Why are you holding a pig outside the hall?" He asks me with an amused smile.

"No reason" I drawl off.

"That's not suspicious at all" He jokes.

"Do you want to pet her?" I question.

"Sure" He shrugs, stepping forward to gently pet the piglet's head.

"I named her Patty" I grin proudly and Rabastan chuckles.

"Patty the pig" He says with a nod "I like it"

Suddenly Evan Rosier's head pops out of the hall and he clicks his fingers at me.

"I'm ready for the pig" He demands.

"Her name is Patty" I sass the boy.

"Okay, fine. Bring Patty in" He huffs, rolling his eyes as he disappears back into the hall.

"What is going on?" Rabastan questions.

"You're not going to want to miss this" I giggle.

The two of us head into the hall and I place the piglet down, letting it run free. Evan clearly speaks the words of the charm and Patty abruptly sprouts wings, starting to fly. Students from all houses start laughing and whooping as the piglet flies around the room. I drag Rabastan over to the Slytherin table where Evan leans down onto the table with a smirk on his lips while Regulus nods his head with an impressed grin, Pandora and Mallory smiling at the piglet in awe.

"Are you gonna go out with me now?" Evan asks the Belovna girl.

Mallory glances at me and I nod my head with an encouraging grin.

"Yes, Rosier. I'll go out with you" She gives in.

"Whoo!" Evan hollers, turning and crushing me in a hug "I did it"

"You did it, buddy" I laugh, patting his back.

"Potter, Black, Lupin, Pettigrew!" I hear a yell and I peak around Evan to see Minerva McGonagall.

"It wasn't even us!" James protests in a whiney tone.

"We have nothing to do with this!" Sirius adds.

I make eye contact with Remus who smirks widely and I wink at him, the boy shaking his head at me softly.
