Manik came down after a long good shower. He needed it after his hectic day. He entered into the kitchen to fetch water when dadi said

"Arey, Manik tu kyun le raha hai pani? Jaa Neonika de degi. Bahar baith."

"Ji main le lunga. Itne se kaam ke liye maa ko kyun pareshan karna?" He said moving out of the kitchen making her sigh.

"Biwi aayegi tab bhi aise karega yeh. Main bata rahi hun Neonika, jab Nandini yahan aayegi uska thoda sambhal ke rakhna." She said and moved out making Neonika sigh.

"Maa! Maa!" Shouted Vishal coming out of his room.

"Kya hua? Kyun chilla rahe ho?" She asked worriedly.

"Subah motor chalu nahi kiya tha kya? Tanki ka pura pani khatam ho gaya hai." He complained making her sigh.

"Subah toh maine hi ki thi chalu. Aapke bhai ko puchiye kitni der se naha raha tha." Said his wife making Neonika frown and Vishal sigh.

"Ab Manik kahan se beech mein aa gaya? Subah se ghar ke kaam kar rahe hai. Tumhe lagta hai pani khatam nahi hoga? Aur Manik toh bas adha ghanta hi bathroom mein tha." Neonika said defending him.

"Maa, aap kyun uspe chilla rahi ho? Ho gaya so ho gaya. Manik jaa motor chalu kar. Aur pani jara sambhal ke use kiya karo, baki log bhi hai jinko nahana hota hai." He said in taunting way making him frown.

"Agar aapko nahana hi tha toh mujhse pehle chale jaate. Maine aapko puch bhi tha." Saying this went out near the well to put on the motor. He stayed out goung through his phone as he was really not interested in an argument with his brother.

Inside dadi sighed seeing them and continued watching her serial. Neonika went to the kitchen to finish her cooking where as Sneha went with her husband vishal to his room.

Entering inside Vishal immediately said

"Tumhe sabke saamne aisa nahi bolna chahiye tha."

"Ismein ab meri galti hai. Aapne dekha nahi Manik ne puri tanki khali kar di pani ki. Pata nahi har baar usko koi kuch bolta kyun nahi hai." Saying this she took out his clothes abd gave him and went back to the kitchen. He sighed and waited so that water can be filled.

Once it was done he came down and had cold water bath. Neonika and Sneha weren't talking now after what she said about Manik.

"Navya, tune unko follow up kyun kiya mere account se? You know how awkward isn't gonna be. Tere hath mein mera phone aaya nahi ki yeh sab chalu hota hai. Agar kisi anjaan ko bhej deti toh?" She scolded her sister who shrugged her shoulders.

"Oh! Dono so jao. Kal subah jaldi uthna hai. Nandini tailer ke paas jaa kar apni saree ka blouse de dena." Nandini's mother said to which Navya replied

"Maa, di ko pehle apni saree toh lene do. Baad mein dekha jayega blouse ka." Her mother gave her a smack on back making her yell.

"Aauu! Mummy!"

"Chup! So ja." Saying this she went out. Nandini was awake scrolling through her phone when a message popped up. She opened it only to see it's from Manik.

She sat straight, she was feeling nervous and what not. It will be their first conversation after their meeting.

Manik

Hey! Manik here.

Hello! How are you?

She asked to which he immediately replied to her.

I'm fine. How are you? Ghar pe sab kaise hai?

They are fine. How is everyone there?

They are also fine. Acha listen,
I wanted to ask you something. Would you like to meet somewhere? If you are comfortable.

She froze for a moment. The thought of them meeting alone gave her chills. She didn't know whether to agree or not. Even if she agrees how will she meet her?

Hello! Are you there?

Yeah! Umm....but how will I meet you? I don't know.

Don't worry, if you are free tomorrow we can meet near the central park. I have some work near your place so thought to meet you. It might help us to know more about each other.

She sighed and looked at her sister. She didn't want anyone to know about her meeting with Manik. If they come to know they will say something or the other. Sighing she closed her eyes and slept.

Next day - Afternoon

"Maa, main bank ke kaam se bahar ja raha hun. Sham tak aa jaunga." Manik informed her going into the kitchen drinking water from the glass.

"Tumne khana bhi nahi khaya Manik. Have food then go." Neonika said worriedly making him smile at her abd cup her face in his hands.

"Maa, shant ho jaiye. Theek hun main. Aur vaise bhi aapko pata hai papa aur dadi ke sath khana padta hai aur kal jo hua uske baad I don't want to face it. Anyways, pakka main khana kha lunga. Aap tension mat lo." Neonika sighed and let him go. He bid her bye and started his bike.

But before he could move out he took out his phone and messaged Nandini that he has left and will reach within 1 hour.

Here Nandini came out of the washroom in simple jeans and top.

"Maa, main dukaan pe ja rahi hun aur aate vakt main Aarti se milke aaungi. Toh sham ho jayegi." Nandini said combing her hair.

"Nandini, teri shadi honewali hai yeh jeans pehena chod de." Her mother to which she frowned and said

"Maa, mera confort zone yahi hai. Aur meri shadi hogi iska yeh matlab nahi ki main jeans nahi pehan sakti. Anyways, aapko kuch lana hai kya?" She asked to which she replied not before sighing.

"Mera chod, tu ek saree pasand kar sagai ke liye. Aur blouse bhi silwa daal. Vakt kab chala jayega kich pata nahi chalega." Nandini sighed thinking saree. She bobbed her head and went out, she took her phone to see Manik's message which came 45 minutes back.

"Abhi niklungi toh aadhe ghante mein pahuch jaungi. Hopefully he doesn't reach before me." She said and went to do her work and meet Manik.

She walked down towards the bus stop and took the bus which goes to the market and the central park comes inbetween. She took her earphone and settled them in ears and got busy in her world (trying to calm herself).

After like 30-35 minutes Nandini got down the bus and waited so that the traffic get's cleared and she can cross. She looked around trying to find him. But didn't see him anywhere.

She finally crossed the road and waited outside the main entrace and tried looking around for him.

"Was he just pulling my leg? I think I shouldn't have come." She mumbled and turned to go when someone stopped the bike infront of her making her startled.

"Hey! Sorry, got a bit delay." Manik he was, Nandini shook her head smiling at him.

"It's okay." They both were feeling shy/nervous. He sighed abd said he will park the bike and will come.

She waited for him and soon he came carrying his helmet in his hand and the bike key.

"Hope you didn't wait for long."

"No, it's been just 10 minutes I reached. Anyways, you wanted to speak." She asked to which he stared at her and asked

"Why? Weren't interested in knowing me?"

"Aisa nahi hai. Aapne achanak pucha isliye..." He chuckled and said let's go inside.

They walked inside and settled on a bench. Nobody spoke anything.

"So, probably you might not know much about me. I'll tell you, my name you know, my age is 27 and I work in sales department of xyz company. I'm the youngest in the house."

"I know." She said looking at him.

"You know?" She bobbed her head making him bite his lip and looked around tapping his knee.

"Aap...." She fumbled asking him.

"Ek minute. Yeh aap kyun?" He asked to which she was amused.

"You are older than me. How can I call you by your name?" She asked cutely making him chuckle.

"Seriously? Itna bhi budha nahi hun main. You can call me by my name." He said trying to ease around.

"Mere liye toh hai hi aap." He frowned listening her.

"What do you mean? I look old? Mujhe mere safed baal kyun nahi dikh rahe toh? Roj apne aapko shishe mein dekhta hun." He said sadly making her laugh. Manik smiled seeing her laughing.

They continued their talk, trying to know each other here and there. It was around 4:30 Nandini decided to take a leave since she had to buy saree and give blouse to stitch.

"Mmm... mujhe lagta hai hume chalna chahiye. Mujhe market bhi jana hai." Nandini said to which Manik bobbed his head.

"Do you want me to drop you?" He asked to which she immediately looked down and shook her head.

"Main usi taraf se jaa raha hun. If you are comfortable then I'll drop you." He said as softly as he could. She looked at the time and realised the bus will come directly at 6 clock. It will be too late for her. She looked at him who was looking at her worried and also hopeful eyes.

"Jaun? Lekin kisi ne dekh liya toh?" She thought and thought. After like 3 minutes she agreed. He smiled and told her to sit. She settled on the bike but keeping the distance.

He took the turn and drove towards their destination. They were quiet and were enjoy the breeze. After 10 minutes Nandini's stop came.

"Thank you." Nandini mumbled and looked at him.

"Welcome, aur thank you for coming to meet me. It means alot." She smiled and bobbed her head.

"By the way, agar chance mile ek do baar aur bhi mil sakte hai." He said making her smile and blush slightly.

"Go safely, and message me when you reach." Nandini said making him bob his head.

"Yeah, you too. Take care. Don't wait for too long." She bobbed her head and he left from there. She went into the market and it took 1 hour to select the saree. In the market only there is a tailor's shop she gave there to stitch the blouse.

Around 6 she finished her work and was on the bus going back home when her phone pinged with message of Manik.

Manik

Reached home. What about you?

In the bus. Will reach with 1/2 hr.

Okay. Message me when you reach.

Yes.

She smiled looking out of the bus. It was tiring yet beautiful day for her. After 1/2 hr she reached and went to her house. Once she reached first thing she did was to get fresh and then message him about her arrival.
