One rainy and gloomy day in Cloudsdale a fifteen year old girl woke up abruptly. The alarm clock beeped very loudly. She yawned and rubbed her eyes, it was the first day of class in her new school. She had lived in ten different cities for the past five years, but she had settled there for a few months. She got up and chose something to wear. She decided to wear a warm sports jacket and black leggins. She didn't want to wear anything that would catch anyone's attention, because she was bullied in every school that she went to. She was slightly shorter than the average girl her age and she had a peculiar taste. She loved sports and often wore sports clothes. She also had dyed her hair like the rainbow, which meant that she was an easy target for bullies, because no one else had that hairstyle. She also had a raspy voice and messy hair. She packed a few things in her rainbow backpack and ran downstairs for breakfast. Her parents were waiting for her with an enormous smile.
"Good morning, honey!" Said her mother and kissed her cheeks.
"I hope that you have rested enough. It's your first day in this school. It's not in Cloudsdale, but in a nearby city. It's Canterlot, I'm sure that you've heard about it. You need to catch a bus to get there" Said her dad.
"I don't want to start again. It's just boring to start a new school. I'm going to get bullied" Said the teenager and poured some milk on her honey nut cornflakes.
"Don't worry dear, we have spoken with the Principal. She has said that there is another new girl coming today, so you can befriend her. I'm sure that she will be happy that you are new too" Explained her mum.
After eating her bowl of cereal she brushed her teeth in a hurry and grabbed a bag of crisps and a home made sandwich for lunch. She kissed her parents goodbye and walked out the front door. The moment that she closed the door, a big hush of wind hit her on the face, messing up her hair that she had brushed only a few minutes before. Then, it began to rain very hard. Enormous drops of water fell everywhere.
Rainbow Dash dashed through the streets of Canterlot City, her vibrant hair streaming behind her like a colorful comet. In the Equestria Girls world, she was a high-spirited teenager with a penchant for speed and adventure. The pitter-patter of raindrops echoed around her as she sprinted towards the bus stop, the heavy clouds overhead threatening a downpour.
As she rounded the corner, Rainbow Dash caught sight of the yellow school bus pulling away from the curb, its taillights glowing in the gloomy weather. A surge of frustration welled up inside her as she realized she was too late. "Darn it!" she muttered under her breath, her cerulean eyes narrowing with determination. She cursed herself silently for not leaving earlier, knowing she should have anticipated the rain delaying her.
Just as she resigned herself to the inevitable walk to school, a black car zoomed past her, splashing a muddy puddle in her direction. Rainbow Dash let out a yelp of surprise as the cold water drenched her from head to toe, her once vibrant attire now soaked and clinging uncomfortably to her skin. Wiping the water from her face, she glanced towards the car, catching only a brief glimpse of the figure seated next to the driver before it disappeared into the distance.
The person she saw appeared aloof, with sharp features and a confident demeanor. Rainbow Dash couldn't make out much detail in the split second she had, but she noticed the girl's piercing gaze and a hint of a smirk playing on her lips. Her hair, a striking mix of gold and amber, fell in unruly waves around her face, framing her sharp features Unfamiliar with her, Rainbow Dash couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that settled in her gut, but she pushed it aside, chalking it up to the annoyance of being soaked by the passing car.
With a resigned sigh, Rainbow Dash trudged onwards, her sneakers squelching with each step as she made her way towards Canterlot High School. The rain continued to fall steadily, casting a dreary atmosphere over the bustling city streets. As she approached the school gates, she couldn't help but admire the grandeur of the imposing building before her.
Canterlot High School stood tall and proud, its red brick faรงade adorned with ivy climbing up the walls. The wrought iron gates, flanked by stone pillars, creaked open as students streamed in, seeking shelter from the inclement weather. Despite the dreary day, the vibrant energy of youth filled the air, mingling with the scent of wet asphalt and freshly cut grass.
Rainbow Dash shook off her earlier misfortune, her spirits lifting as she entered the familiar surroundings of the school grounds. With a determined stride, she made her way towards the entrance, ready to face whatever challenges the day had in store for her.
She stared at the immense doors leading to the main hall. As Rainbow Dash stepped through the towering gates of Canterlot High School, a mix of nerves and excitement churned in her stomach. The sprawling campus loomed before her, a maze of hallways and classrooms bustling with students. With her heart pounding in her chest, she took a deep breath, steeling herself for the adventure that lay ahead.
Entering the main building, Rainbow Dash was greeted by the lively chatter of her fellow classmates echoing off the walls. The air was thick with the scent of freshly polished floors and the faint aroma of cafeteria food. It was overwhelming, but exhilarating at the same time.
As a new student, Rainbow Dash found herself navigating the halls with wide-eyed wonder, taking in the sights and sounds of her new surroundings. Everywhere she looked, there were vibrant posters and bulletin boards adorned with announcements for clubs, events, and school activities. The energy was palpable, infectious even, as students hurried past her, lost in their own worlds. As she navigated the crowded room, Rainbow Dash caught glimpses of the diverse student body that made up Canterlot High. There were jocks and cheerleaders, artists and musicians, nerds and geeks โ each with their own unique interests and passions. It was a melting pot of personalities and backgrounds, and Rainbow Dash couldn't wait to dive in and become a part of it all. She could see in the distance the canteen doors and even the football pitch. She walked around the halls. This school was huge, and she felt stressed as everyone kept chatting and laughing. All of the schools where she had been to were nothing compared to this new school.
Her first destination was the school office, where she needed to pick up her schedule and map out her classes for the day. The office was a hive of activity, with students lining up to speak to the receptionist and teachers bustling about, preparing for the day ahead. Rainbow Dash waited patiently in line, fidgeting with excitement as she anticipated the adventures that awaited her at Canterlot High. When it was finally her turn, she slowly entered the door and knocked gently. There was no response. She knocked a little bit harder and said:
"Um, excuse me, can I come in?"
"Yes, come inside. I've been waiting here for you. I'm Principal Celestia, welcome to Canterlot High. I hope that you enjoy class here, and that you make lots of friends. Here we like to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible. If you observe anything that seems odd, please report to me. If I am not mistaken, you must be Rainbow Daring Dash. Nice to meet you! As you may know, we have another new student joining us today. She is waiting to meet you in the hallway to your left. I hope that you bond and become friends, in this school friendship is something very valuable. If you need anything, help, advice or you have any questions, please know that I am here to help you as much as I can. Welcome to CHS!" Said a tall woman. She seemed about thirty years old and had long, wavy pastel coloured hair. She had fuchsia eyes and was wearing a long skirt with a sun on it and a white blouse. She was wearing some make-up and very tall high heels. They looked really uncomfortable!
Rainbow Dash exited the room and turned left, to where the Principal had said that the other new girl was. A girl walked up to her and sweetly said:
"Howdy, I'm Applejack! You must be Rainbow Dash, nice to meet ya'!" Said the teenager. She was slightly taller than her, and had an athletic complexity. She had slightly tan skin and long, blonde hair. Her eyes were emerald green and she had lots of freckles. Judging by her accent and her clothing style, she was a tomboy that lived around a farm. She had very muscular arms and looked like someone not to mess with. She seemed very nice, and Rainbow Dash had a very good feeling about her.
"Hello! I am Rainbow Dash. Nice to meet you too, Applejack" She said in return. The two shook hands, and Rainbow Dash parted ways to keep exploring.
She walked past a few people, squeezing in between them. After a while, she made it to a corner of the school where it felt more quiet. She sighed in relief, and inspected the room where she was. She could see green lockers, drinking fountains, vending machines, posters about competitions and books; but then, she heard a girl sobbing. She was curious about it, so she went closer to where the noise came from. She saw a short girl crying in the corner of a room. She had light yellow coloured skin and light pink hair, that was put to the side with a beautiful butterfly hair clip. Her outfit consisted of a green skirt with three pink butterflies and a white tank top. She was wearing pistachio green and fuchsia pink tall boots. There was a backpack on the floor and notebooks, textbooks and pens scattered all over the floor. In front of her was a girl a lot taller than the sobbing girl. She looked oddly familiar. Rainbow Dash tilted her head to one side and immediately recognized the teen. She was the girl that smirked at her earlier in the car that splashed water all over her. She was about to confront her and stop her from bullying the poor girl, but she looked at her arms. She was very muscular and looked menacing, so she decided to tell someone else about it instead. She didn't want to be called out on the first day. She must try to keep calm. She walked around the room quietly, and then an idea hit her. She could ask Applejack to come with her, that way they wouldn't both be in trouble, and the teachers could see that they were just helping the girl. She walked out towards the hall, and saw Applejack drinking from a water fountain. She walked up to her:
"Hey Applejack, I saw a girl that was being bullied by a tough looking girl earlier, can you help me to defend her? I don't want to get in trouble alone on the first day. I figured that we could go together." Said the rainbow haired teen.
"Well of course, sugarcube," Answered the blonde girl.
They walked towards the girl. They heard shouts and loud thumps.
"Give me your lunch money, freak" Said the taller girl.
"Um, I don't have any," said the girl in a very quiet voice.
Then, the other girl pounced on her and started hitting her until the other girl started to weep and cry loudly, begging for her to stop. Applejack looked angry, as she charged towards the mean girl. Rainbow tried to calm her, but the blonde girl marched towards the bully and shouted:
"LEAVE HER ALONE!" She said while standing defensively in front of the shy girl.
"Well, who do we have here?" Said the bully turning around to face the new girls. Next to Applejack, they were about the same height and they both looked very tough.
"None of your business. Stop messing with that poor girl" Said Applejack. "We're new here, don't mess with anyone on our watch" Continued to say Applejack as she held Rainbow Dash's hand and smirked at the girl.
The bully looked at Rainbow Dash up and down.
"Have we met? You seem oddly familiar..." Said the mean girl and looked at Rainbow Dash with a stern look.
"I believe so. You grinned at me after splashing me with water earlier" Said Rainbow Dash angrily.
"Of course! I know a loser when I see one" She answered with a stern look. Rainbow Dash's blood boiled.
"I'm NOT a loser!"She said and lifted her hand as if she was going to punch her. The bully held it and directed it down and not at her face.
"Relax, man! I'm Gilda. I wanted to test you to see if you were tough enough, you seem likable. Friends?"Asked the bully looking innocent. Gilda, Rainbow thought to herself. She wasn't fooling her. How could she be so mean to her and then ask to be her friend? Besides, if she was really testing her, she wouldn't have been beating up the shy girl.
"No, thanks. I know a loser when I see one too, so be careful. I already have a much nicer friend than you. Now, leave that girl alone or else" Said Rainbow Dash
"Or else what?!"Said Gilda and smirked.
"Or else you'll have to go through both of us" Said Applejack, who had been very quiet during the conversation. Gilda glared at her, and they just exchanged stern looks at each other until Gilda gave up, admiring Applejack's muscles.
"Fine, don's say I didn't warn you" Said Gilda and left.
Rainbow Dash high fived Applejack.
"Um, thank you for helping me" Said the girl, who had just witnessed the whole conversation. "My name is Fluttershy, and you are?"
"Howdy Fluttershy! I'm Applejack and this is Rainbow Dash. We're new here" Said Applejack, and grabbed Rainbow Dash's wrist, leading her to Fluttershy.
The two new girls helped Fluttershy gather up her scattered items and helped her recompose.
"I have a feeling that there's more to this day than this" Thought Rainbow Dash to herself.
