The Imp of the Perverse.
"Ambrose." Sabrina cried, running towards the stairs.
"Go away." He jogged down, holding a box full of his stuff.
"What? Ambrose, thank Hecate." Sabrina said, as she and Roz came up to him
Only for the man to spin away from them, crying out "Get away from me, woman."
"Woman?" She questioned, watching confused as he went towards the open boot, before stepping forward a few steps"Ambrose, I'm your cousin."
He turned, box in hand standing before the boot full of wooden boxs before she continued, pointing towards the house behind them.
"I have lived with you in that house, our house, for years."
"I haven't the slightest inking of who you are." He said "I do not have a cousin. I've never had a cousin."
Sabrina spluttered "What are you doing? Where are you going?"
"I am getting the bloody hell out of Dodge." He cried, placing the box down before pointing at the door, which had a black 'W' painted on it, in an old-fashioned hand "Can't you see that I've been marked?"
"Marked?" She asked, turning to look at the door "On the door?"
"I've been formally accused of witchcraft, which is patently false."
"But don't you remember who you are?" Sabrina questioned, desperately "Ambrose, you are a witch. You are a master of the mystic arts." She racked her brain before blerting out, what everyone knew "And you are in love with an Original."
"No, no, no, I am not." Ambrose said, glancing at the entrance to the Spellman land.
"Ambrose, listen to me. We are fighting the eldritch terrors. This is one, the Perverse, and we're trapped in it."
"No." He denied "Not me, because I am leaving."
Sabrina and Roz watched helplessly and thrown as he loaded the box in the boot, before turning to them.
"I do not know what lies beyond the town's borders. The outer world could be overrun with witches, by the plague, by dragons, and by war, as Blackwood says it is, or it could be nothing at all." He shrugged dramatically "But whatever it is, I am gonna see it for myself."
He closed the door, not taking his eyes off them before hurriedly going to the driver's seat. Roz and Sabrina observed distraught as Ambrose drove away.
A 134 tan skinned man (whom had no idea that he was that old.) Gripped at the stiring wheel of the mortuary car, that sat engine humming before the town line.
"Enough agonizing, Ambrose." He scolded himself, staring the line with a semi-determined glare "You can't sit here all night."
He exhaled, hovering his foot over the accelerator "Here goes nothing."
He drove forward, nervous and jumpy nerves making him shake as he gripped on the wheel, his eyes widened as loud screeching entered his ears. The car halted sharply, his upper body bounced towards the wheel, but was harshly pulled back by the seat belt as the tires screeched.
Ambrose blinked, shaking his head before getting out of the car. He closed the door, holding his hands before himself staring down at them "I am Ambrose Spellman, master of the mystic arts. Praise Hecate."
He turned, and gazed at the town entrance "I remember."
"Do you now?"
He turned his head, to see a man sat on a camper's chair next to a small table, where an open trunk sat, offering its treasures to curious costumers "Hello, friend." He greeted.
Ambrose glanced back at the town entrance, before looking at the man "Who might you be?"
"I am the trinket man," he said, standing up as Ambrose walked towards him "purveyor of occult trinkets. Behold." He smiled charmingly, after waving his hands over the contents in the trunk.
"Tell me, trinket man," Ambrose began "have you been to Greendale yet?"
He chuckled "I'm afraid I have, yes. A madman stole one of my trinkets, the Imp of Perverse."
"Perverse." His eyes grazed over the ground as his mind worked, before his gaze flickered to the man, saying with dread "That would have been Father Blackwood, fiddling with eldritch terrors once again." He turned his head to the town briefly "He must of wished upon the Imp to reshape the universe in his image, and now nobody can remember the truth."
"So why does his wish not extend beyond the borders of Greendale?" He asked, pointing from the border to the road stretching on forwards.
"The Imp still has his...Impish ways."
"My...my family, friends are back there. Rebekah." His eyes widened in realization "Sabrina. You don't have another imp I can wish upon, do you?"
The trinket man shook his head "There's only one Imp of Perverse. But-" he held up his index finger "-might I interest you in the sacred Stone of Omphalos?" He held a stone the size of his fist.
"The one from the Greek myth?" Ambrose inquired, astonished by the fact that he had it in his possession "The same one Cronus swallowed, creating the center of the universe?"
He nodded solemnly.
"By all that is unholy, that-" the tanned warlock laughed with amazement and slight disbelief, even with the evidence "That stone isn't the center of reality. That is the stone of reality."
"That is correct."
"Therefore, could it restore reality?"
"I don't see why not. But you'd have to be clever with how you went about it." The trinket man warned.
Ambrose pointed at the stone "How much for the...how much for the stone?"
The trinket man smiled "For you? Ah..." he walked around the box on the table, and stood before Ambrose "No, it's free." He offered the stone to the warlock, who looked at it mouth open slightly.
As the trinket man placed the stone in his hand "There's one, uh, problem I foresee. The moment you go across the border, your mind will pervert again. You'll have 30 seconds of lucidity before the madman's warping wish takes effect again."
"All right." He turned towards the border "Uh..." He walked up on to the road as the trinket man chuckled.
Ambrose stopped "I could-I could teleport in." His eyes racked the ground in thought "I need to find a way to find Sabrina...Rebekah, and quickly, so I can give her the stone, and find out what has befallen on Rebekah. I can tell them how to use it. But how?"
"Perhaps I can be of assistance."
Ambrose spun around at the sound of a familiar voice "Klaus?"
The Mikaelson hybrid smirked "Ambrose, I hear there's quite some trouble up your end."
"And you've come to help out of the goodness of your heart?" He questioned.
"Well," Klaus shrugged lightly "since my sister is...smitten with you, I'm willing to lend a hand." His face dropped stepping forward "Shall we?"
Ambrose nodded, Klaus firmly gripped at the fabric of his coat before vamp speeding into the town, taking the Spellman with him.
"And us, I think." Ambrose said as he and Klaus came to a halt behind Sabrina, the warlock wasn't sure how the imp would affect Klaus, since he wasn't in town when it happened "For the next 28 seconds."
"Ambrose, Klaus," Sabrina asked "you know who you are?"
"Yes, but that will soon fade. For me at least, I think." The Spellman said "So you must listen closely. And also-" his worried eyes grazed the room "-where the heaven is Rebekah?"
"As far as we know, Blackwood has her." Roz pipped up "Apparently she wasn't affected by the imp."
"And Kol?" Klaus questioned.
"Under the curse," Sabrina said, drawing the Mikaelson's eyes to her "he's at the Academy, Zelda's right hand."
"Take this stone," Ambrose offered the said rock to his cousin "it is the Stone of Omphalos. The same stone that Cronus, the Greek Titan, swallowed, creating the center of the universe, the center of reality."
"Using it a certain way," Klaus conutined, having heard Ambrose's conversation with the trinket man "You can awake people from this warping spell."
"Okay," Sabrina said "use how? In what why?"
"It took us a minute, but once we figured it out, it was so obvious, so simple." Ambrose pointed towards himself and Klaus "All you, um...All you have to do is, uh, uh,"
Klaus's brows furrowed as he narrowed his eyes, placing a hand on his head as a splitting headache began to drum at his skull. While Ambrose hesitated.
"I'm sorry," the Spellman's brows furrowed "I'm losing my train of thought." He blinked, turning his head to look around "What-What was I on about?"
Klaus narrowed his eyes as Sabrina spoke "Ambrose. Ambrose!"
"What, woman? What?" Ambrose inquired, his mind once again warped.
"Oh bless, why does that keep happening to me?" Sabrina sighed before turning to the Mikaelson "Do you?"
"Know what he was getting at? No unfortunately, but, and I'm no expert on Greek myths. But," he lifted both of his eyebrows "I ideally we...need to consume the stone's power."
"Like we eat the stone?" Hilda questioned.
"What?" Sabrina looked at her aunt confused.
"Well, I mean. They said it was obvious, didn't they? Well, alright then, why don't we do what Cronus did and eat the stone?"
Sabrina moved in front of the group "Cronus was a Titan. We can't actually eat rocks."
"Well, no, but I could make it into a stone soup." Hilda suggested as Klaus and Sabrina looked at each other briefly "You know, like in folklore."
"Aunt Hilda, you're a genius." Sabrina chuckled.
"Yes, I am a genius." She smiled, before she caught the first half of her sentence "Sorry, I'm your aunt?"
"Speaking of waking everyone up," Klaus said, gesturing to Lillith who was holding Salem "has anyone told Morgana her mother's in this realm?"
"Let's make this stone soup, see what happens." Sabrina said "And then we'll tackle that, amongst other problems."
And so they did, Ambrose eyed everyone wearily as they stared at him as he placed the cup to his lips. He closed his eyes, his mind clearing.
"Sabrina."
"Ambrose." She smiled "Stone soup for everyone!"
As soon as Lillith swallowed a drop of her cup, she dropped and clutched on to Klaus's arm who groaned at the strength of her grip "Where is my daughter." She hissed.
"Safe in Mystic Falls," Klaus answered, pulling his arm out her grip "with my brother, congratulating themselves on the hunter's demise."
"The hunter's dead?" Dorian clarified.
"But there's another waiting in the wings." Klaus said.
Together they concocted a plan, Sabrina and Klaus took the soup to the Academy, and made everyone drink it while Ambrose and Dorian retrieved his wand. And Kol who wanted to kill Blackwood as much as Klaus, retrieved his bat.
"Chaos, murder, mayhem, disease." Blackwood preached, Klaus hide in the shadows while his brother sat in the crowd "The world has come undone. Only Greendale survives, and barely."
Roz struggled on the board she was bond on, by the wrists and ankles "And we all know what's to blame. Witches. Filthy, scheming witches. Thirsty for the blood of our babies. Before I was appointed divine emperor, witchcraft was all around you, and you didn't even know it."
"Why, this very building used to house their hateful, unholy church, if you can stomach that. And harsh though it may seem, today we will do what we must to protect ourselves. But first, before the executions...we will hear an actual witch's confusion. Prudence, begin the stoning."
Kol watched longfully as Prudence placed a slab of wood over Nicholas before placing big stones on top, Blackwood's words escaping his ears.
"As Giles Gorey suffered in Salem, so must the accused, Nicholas Scratch." Klaus tilted his head, this bloke really was mad "Take the weight of these stones until the truth is pushed out of him. What's say you, Mr Scratch, with your devil's name? Speak up."
"More weight." Nicholas grunted out.
"Pathetic," Blackwood shouted, over his body before walking back to the crowd, calling over his shoulder "Very well, more weight!"
"I'm a witch!" Sabrina cried out, her disguise disappearing, glaring "I, Sabrina Spellman, born of a mortal woman and the Dark Lord Satan himself, proudly proclaim myself a witch."
"At last!" Blackwood smiled madly "I knew, even in my perfect world, it would only be a matter of time before you revealed yourself, Ms Spellman."
Ambrose creeped out of the crowd as Klaus went to meet him, both gripping tightly at their wands.
"All this cruelty and suffering just to get to me, Father Blackwood?" Sabrina questioned disgusted.
"Emperor Blackwood." He corrected.
Ambrose chanted in Latin as both he and the original wielded their wands, destroying the Imp. Everyone ducked from the sparks but nothing happened.
Blackwood chuckled insanely "You hopeless, ponsing prats. Did you really think me so basic?" He waved his hand over at the two, turning their wands into roses.
"It's no use." Ambrose uttered, eyeing the newly turned rose "He's still in control of reality."
Klaus growled, giving Blackwood his all known menacing stare "I'll be the judge of that."
"I'm if I join you brother?" Kol questioned rhetorically, standing up with a matching death glare "Now, where the Hell is our sister?"
"Reality." Sabrina murmured, before going to her bag.
"Oh that brat," Blackwood laughed "she's our finishing act. Waiting in the wings for a brutal ending."
"Emperor Blackwood is a witch!" Sabrina threw the stone at him, it hit him on the corner of his head, making him stumble whilst a pulse washed through the room.
"You worm! you wretch!"
"Witches, now!" Sabrina cried.
"I should smite you where you stand." Blackwood held his hand out but Zelda and Mambo Marie blocked him.
All witches magicly withstranded him.
"Hold that bad thought, Father Blackwood." Sabrina said.
The dog barked, Hilda gave him bone making the animal go to it urgently, Klaus laughed at the now unreliable thing.
"Judas, Judith."
The two twins drew their weapons but Klaus and Kol sped forward, taking their swords and pinned them against the wall by their throats, before the witches kept them there by magic.
"Mr Kinkle, do your duty."
Harvey gulped unsure, Roz looked up at him from her bounds "Moment of truth, Harvey."
Harvey pulled out his axe, and spun around knocking out the guard behind him.
"Prudence!" Blackwood ordered.
Her hands went to her swords but Agatha spoke "Prudence, listen to me."
Theo looked at her but She didn't move, so the Mikaelson made his own attempts "Darling," Prudence turned to him "Blackwood has trapped us in a warped reality."
"Help us, sister." Agatha pleaded.
"Prudence," Sabrina said causing her to turn to her "we all hate Blackwood, no one more than you."
"Prudence, I stopped you from killing Blackwood once," Ambrose said solemnly "and for I am sorry."
"Tell us, tell us, Weird Sister," Roz and Mambo Marie chanted in sync "how we can end his madness."
"You..." her hands hovered over her head at the buzzing, before looking at them "You have to wish on the Imp, not destroy it. Luckily, that was a decoy. He keeps the real one in his safe at Dorian's, behind his portrait."
"Oh." Dorian rolled his eyes, annoyed "Will everyone stop using my bar as a bloody bank."
"Robin, can you get the Imp?" Sabrina questioned.
"On it." He nodded before running out of there.
Klaus sped after him. Upon arrival Robin attended to the safe while Klaus searched in every corner.
"REBEKAH! It's your big brother, come out or I'm never letting you out of my sight again!" He shouted.
"Nik!" His head turned in the direction of another room before speeding off.
"Oh, what took you so long?" Sabrina asked Robin, taking the Imp from him as Kol hugged his sister.
"What the bloody hell happened?" Rebekah inquired, looking at her older brother "One minute we're sat around a table with Stefan, the next."
"This apparently," Klaus sighed "You disappear then, next thing I know I'm standing on the side of the road, only to stumble upon Greendale of all places."
"It's over, Father Blackwood." Sabrina said, earning everyone's attention, she held the Imp in the air "I wish the world back to the way it was."
Nothing happened, the three siblings looked at each other before stepping away, having huddled together when expected impack was to happen. Blackwood chuckled.
"I don't understand." Ambrose narrowed his brows.
"We do. We three see it." The Weird Sisters said "That Imp is to, a false idol."
"Submit." Blackwood ordered "Submit to my will!"
"If the first two Imps were bogus, then where the heaven is the real one?" Sabrina questioned.
"He'd keep it with him at all times." Zelda said.
Klaus narrowed his eyes before his gaze fell on the dog beside the platform "The dog."
"Of course," Sabrina sighed "in the form of something no one would ever touch."
"Anubis, kill her." Blackwood choked out.
"Anubis, working dog in Blackwood's tracks, rest your paws and relax." Sabrina chanted, slowly crouching down as the dog fell under the spell "Good boy, Anubis."
Klaus inched forward, kneeling down placing his hand above the dog before buring his fingers in the fur. He glanced at Sabrina, who nodded for him to continue.
"And now, I wish it all back to how it was before the perversion."
"No! Wait" Blackwood cried.
Everyone clutched their heads as ringing stung their skulls. Klaus opened his eyes to see Rebekah doing the same, they looked at one another shook, as Stefan groaned. They turned to him.
"Let me just name the million other people, I'd rather be having dinner with right now." He remarked, having no notice of their disappearance or reappearance.
The two looked at each other, before Klaus smirked, leaning back in his seat. Acting as if the passing events hadn't happened, because the two siblings weren't planning on discussing it until the Salvatore's departure.
