Peter's POV

They say seeing is believing, but for me it's hearing. It's been about a month since I lost my hearing and fingers crossed, I hope I can get these stupid bandages off my head today. We're doing a hearing test which will decide. Mr. Stark asked gently, "Alright kiddo, you ready?"

"Yeah."

We set up a few machines and they started to take off my bandages. I'm scared if I'll never be able to get my hearing back, what if I'm deaf forever? What happens when I can't be Spiderman? So many people are going to get hurt because I'm not there to help them! Oh God, I can't do this. I blurt out, "St-stop."

Mr. Stark removed his hands from my bandages and looked at me, "What's wrong kid?"

"What if I don't get my hearing back what will happen to the citizens of New York when Spider-Man isn't there to help them?"

I started panicking and then I felt Mr. Stark put his hands on my shoulders, "Hearing or not you will always be the Peter Maximoff we all know and love you getting your hearing back won't change a single thing about you."

I started calming down, I can do this. I looked around the room seeing the team and my sister who were smiling and flashing me thumbs-up, being as supportive as they could possibly be. I nodded at Mr. Stark, indicating that he could continue to take off the bandages.

"Peter try to use super hearing and find a sound."

"Okay."

I closed my eyes and started trying to use my powers, trying to focus on a sound, any sound. Slowly I heard my sister's heartbeat and then I started listening harder and heard a barista ask someone what their name was for their coffee. Then I opened my eyes, feeling giddy with joy. Mr. Stark asked, "Did you hear anything?"

Except, he didn't use the notepad, and oh my gosh yes, I could hear him! My hearing was back! I decide to talk even though it felt strange after not speaking for a while, "Yeah I heard different sounds." I looked around the team, trying to capture their faces in shock and happiness. Wanda walked up to meet and pulled me into a hug, heavily sighing, "You can hear us again."

I nodded while being in her embrace, "I'm so happy for you peter."

"Thanks Wanda."

I turned back to everyone else who were smiling and glad i was able to talk again. It was amazing to hear again i missed my sister's voice and i most definitely missed Mj's voice. "Hey peter don't you have something to tell everyone?" Wanda asked smirking.

I stared cluelessly at my sister, "What do you mean Wanda?" I asked.

"Why don't you tell the team about last night."

Then their heads whip in my direction, "What's your sister talking about Pete?" Aunt tasha asked.

I started blushing, "Mj and i went on a date last night and it was amazing." I reminisced.

"Wait you got a date?" Clint asked.

"Yes Katniss is that so hard to believe?!"

"Well kind of you're a shy kid and i thought Mj was incapable of liking someone."

"I thought that as well but she became one of my best friends and then became my girlfriend."

"Ah young love." Aunt tasha said.

"Well good for you kid." Mr. Stark said.

"Thanks i'm gonna go to my room and get ready for patrol bye everyone." I waved everyone off and went to my room getting dressed in my suit then heading off on patrol feeling the wind in my face as i swung from rooftop to rooftop.

Man i've missed this.
