In which you check if Dream
is able to fly... No? Welp-
______________________________

Funny enough, it was a bee that woke you up the next morning. It landed right on your nose, then proceeded to fly over to the many flowers surrounding you, before your tired body even got a chance to flinch.

Your head rested on Dream's chest, and you didn't wanna get up. His heart was beating against your ear in such a calming way it almost lulled you back to sleep. It was beating in sync with your own.

The two of you had spent most of last night, stargazing and talking. You didn't remember when you fell asleep, but you sure had slept well. Despite the fact you had slept outside, you had slept like a rock.

You raised yourself from Dream's embrace, much against your will. You looked at his sleeping form and rolled your eyes at how he had slept with his mask on. "Idiot."

   "You take that back."

You gasped and pulled his mask off to reveal a grinning Dream, who definitely wasn't asleep. You covered his face again, laughing. "Dammit, Dream. When did you wake up?"

He shrugged and sat up. Stretched. "Not too long ago. How did you sleep, beautiful?"

"Okay, don't call me that." You held a finger up tiredly, but couldn't help but smile. "And I slept pretty well, thank you for asking. You're pretty warm, so I didn't freeze to death."

"And you work pretty well as a blanket. Perhaps I should use you as one more often."

"Objectifying women isn't cool, I thought I taught you that a long time ago." You laughed and stood up. You dusted some grass straws out of your hair and clothes, before reaching your hand out for Dream. He took it while grinning.

He didn't let go, once he had gotten on his feet. But you wouldn't have let him, even if he had wanted to. Something had changed since last night. Well, obviously, but something was still different. You had always loved each other deep down, but you hadn't been in love. You guessed it was official to say, that you were now.

"Well, we better head home so we can get some breakfast. I didn't take anything with me, because I didn't know we'd spend the night, but..." He smirked at you. "I don't have any regrets."

"Sure, loverboy," You simply said, squeezing his hand. You didn't want to leave this place yet. It was so nice to be outside, and your time here with Dream had been beyond amazing. You couldn't even put into words how happy you were that he had taken you here.

Dream saw how you looked back at the sunflower field as you began to head back to the nether portal. "Don't worry, we can return whenever you want," he assured you.

That seemed to brighten your mood a little. You smiled and gave him a nod as you walked through the forest.

And then, as you saw the nether portal, your mood fell once again. "Oh no." You whined upon remembering you had a two-hour-long walk ahead of you through the nether.

Dream laughed it off as he adjusted his mask and found his shield and axe from his inventory. "Oh come on now, the way back can't possibly go worse than our way over here."

-

Update: The way back went far worse than the way over here.

First of all, you were hungry. You were so hungry that it felt as if your organs began eating each other, making it rumble loudly from the internal war it was having.

You felt your feet drag after your body as if two anvils were tied to them. Despite Dream holding your hand in an attempt to help you forward, your pace was still way slower than it had been yesterday, meaning that this walk would probably take you four hours instead of two. And even the thought of that made you slow down even more.

"Do you want me to carry you?" Dream asked you, ready to retrieve his axe to his inventory.

You wanted to say yes. You were so tempted to just jump onto his back, close your eyes and sleep all of your exhaustion away. But you knew he was struggling as well. You couldn't see his face, but you were sure his eyes were just as tired as yours. You slowly shook your head. "No, I'm fine. I'm fine."

You weren't fine. You weren't even close to be fine. Your clothes were soaked in sweat from walking across the sea of lava, and it only made it that much heavier to wear. You and Dream were currently walking across the bridge, gasping for air. His hand was hot and wet in yours, but you kept holding onto it for dear life. If he let go, you were worried you might just throw yourself into the lava pool.

Maybe that wouldn't even be such a bad idea. It would be a quick death, and you would respawn right in Dream's cold living room, escaping the nether just like that. You still had two lives left, you could manage.

But you didn't want to leave Dream. And you couldn't convince him to commit a lover's suicide with you, even though the option was very tempting.

Besides, you didn't want to end up on the list of 'top 10 most stupid anime deaths'

You just had to get yourself together and hold on for a little bit longer. You were probably half-way there by now.

You and Dream had eventually made it to the other side and into the familiar forest. Luckily there weren't any Hoglins around, but there sure as hell were many piglins.

They noticed you just as you stepped onto their territory. Most of them kept minding their own business, but one of them had the guts to follow you and Dream through the forest.

At first, you ignored it. But when it got too close for comfort, you stopped up and turned around. You pointed an angry finger at it. "Dude, stop!"

Dream rolled his eyes. "(Y/n), it can't understand you. Maybe try grunting."

You groaned as Dream's laughing self tried to pull your hand to keep walking.

"Don't mind it, it's just attracted to gold," Dream managed a smile, and took up the amulet from his pocket. The golden one, you had made him such a long time ago. You were glad he still held onto it. It had taken you a whole war making it.

But he sure didn't hold onto it for much longer, because just as he held it up, the piglin took its chance and snatched it right out of his hand. Dream gasped and lunged out for his little lucky charm, but the Piglin jumped away just in time. "Hey! Give that back!"

"Relax Dream, just grunt at it nicely, maybe it'll-" You calmed but then the piglin moved over to you and pulled the sunflower out of your hair that Dream had given you yesterday.

Dream started to wheeze. "It took the flower! It took your flower! And it's not even golden, it's yellow! Who needs to grunt now?"

You, however, didn't think it was very funny. You took a threatening step forward and raised your fist. "You give that back right now, buddy, or you'll regret it!"

The sunflower looked dead. Its head was hanging low due to the warmth, and the once yellow petals had lost color, turning into dark orange. That's probably why the piglin mistook it for gold. But the flower still meant a lot to you. Dream had given it to you after all, right before the most magical moment in your life.

When the stupid piglin didn't show any intention to return your stuff, you stopped thinking for a hot second. Dream didn't get to stop you before you punched the piglin to dust with your bare fist.

You smiled victoriously as you picked up the amulet and flower from the ground. When you placed the flower in your hair, you reached the amulet out for Dream to take, but he just stood there, completely frozen.

"(Y/n)..." He said very slowly. "Do you realize what you have just done?"

You furrowed your brows. "Uh, yeah? I just got our stuff back. You're welcome."

But then you heard a bunch of furious growls behind you. You stiffened up and turned around. You were met with at least 25 five other piglins, running toward you. And they didn't look very happy.

"Oh." You laughed through the realization and pain. "Well, shit."

   "RUN!"

-

"What were you thinking!? Don't you know that when you harm a piglin, every piglin within a mile's radius starts attacking you!?"

"Why are you yelling at me, it was the piglin who started it! It took my flower! And your amulet!" You yelled back, as the two of you ran through the crimson forest at the speed of light.  Every time you encountered a new piglin it would start running after you as well. You just barely managed to avoid every single one of them, but it was very energy-draining. The adrenaline in your body, the situation had caused, was slowly dying out, and you felt your already-exhausted legs getting more tired. And that really wasn't good, considering the angry army of piglins chasing after you, wanting to chop your head off. There were at least 40 by now.

You ran in zic-zacs in between the red trees. You had completely lost the path you had originally come from, and now you had no idea of where you were. You just hoped that you wouldn't run into a dead end.

But the universe just loved to make your life hard. You and Dream suddenly found yourself on the edge of a tall cliff, with nowhere to escape. You leaned over the edge to see a whole sea of lava 30 feet beneath you. You cursed and searched for an exit as the piglins slowly came closer, trapping the two of you into a corner. There was no escape.

"Please tell me you have some enderpearls." You begged as Dream's grip around your hand tightened. He slowly shook his head.

"I only have one." His eyes flickered around the surroundings, mind overheating itself by thinking of a possible Dream-100-IQ moment. But he couldn't come up with anything. In the end, he sighed and summoned the pearl from his inventory and placed it in your hand. "You take it. You have a pickaxe, right? Pearl far away and hide somewhere in the walls. Wait there until I've respawned, I promise I'll come back for you. Or at least wait for half an hour until the pigs have cooled down."

You nearly choked on air. "What, and leave you here to die? There's absolutely no way I'd do that!"

You stubbornly tried to think of any other option. The one Dream had just suggested was beyond stupid. You considered if you should take up the fight. But you didn't have enough arrows for all of them, and you and Dream were only two people. The piglins had expanded to at least 50. There was no way you could win. And your whole body was screaming in exhaustion. The only way you could possibly lose the piglins, was to...

   Your eyes widened.

This was it. The time for your main-character-moment.

"Dream. Do you trust me?" You asked very seriously in the heat of the moment. The piglins were 10 seconds away from getting to you, and their angry, red eyes eyed you up and down, hungrily.

"What? I-" Dream was a little taken aback. Why were you suddenly asking him that? He looked at you, only to get lost in your eyes for a second. "Yes," He then said with no hesitation. "Always."

You managed a smile. Then you let go of his hand and gave him a quick peck on the lips. "Bad choice"

Then you shoved him off the cliff.
