You and Tommy managed to sneak out, without anyone noticing. You don't think you've ever been so quiet in your whole life. The wind outside was colder than you had expected it to be, but you didn't want to go back and put some more clothes on - that'd be too risky.

You had just reached the gate when Tommy stopped up. He turned around, placing a hand on your shoulder. His eyes were excited and determined. "Are you sure you want to do this? When we walk out of this gate, we won't have any protection."

To be fair, you weren't sure at all. You didn't feel great about it is your first day in L'manburg, and you were already going against Wilbur's orders... But if you didn't get caught, it would mean that you would have potions, diamonds, and a good idea of who you were up against...

"I'm sure." You said with certainty.

Tommy smiled widely. "Then follow me."

And so you did. You followed him outside of the gates, and into the forest, you had walked around in not so long ago. You took a sharp turn to the left, walking up a hill.

You were running silently, your heart competing with your feet in which could go faster. You came to a wooden path, that turned into a bridge, going steep upwards.

To your surprise, it went straight through a mountain. You focused on taking in your surroundings, memorizing it all, in case you ever needed to go back here.

You ran through the mountain, Tommy stopping in front of you right before reaching the other side. "This is it. Wait here." He whispered while sneaking forward, making sure the coast was clear.

There was no way. You had already arrived? But you had only walked for like, two minutes! No wonder they were so scared of Dream. The guy could literally just step into his backyard and throw a bomb into L'manberg from there. What the actual heck.

It was very dark, so you just barely noticed Tommy wavering his hand at you, telling you to come. You did so, taking in the new change of scenery.

You were still on the wooden path, which split in two not so far ahead - one going left and one going right. There was a house to your right, which looked more like a hole in a wall - or well, in a mountain. There was a huge tower on your left. You couldn't see the top of it from here, due to the darkness and the tower being black itself. Straight forward from you, was a bench, with a beautiful view of nature in front. A fence was placed on the edge of the cliff. It was overall very pretty.

The wooden path was lit up by humble lanterns, making it easier to see where you were going. You could also see Tommy more clearly now. He pointed towards the hole-in-the-wall home. "See. That's where I used to live."

It honestly didn't even surprise you. "Wow, that's... That's something."

"I know." Tommy sighed in a dream-like-state, remembering all the memories. He walked over to it, and you followed - still making sure you didn't make a sound.

The inside matched the outside, pretty much. It was messy, and not very well decorated. But despite that, it did have some kind of charm. It was hard to see everything properly, but it'd be too risky if you lit a torch. You'd just have to settle with the weak moonlight for now.

Tommy looked through all of the chests, while you kept watch. You must admit, that this was rather exciting - sneaking out in the middle of the night. You really felt alive for the first time in many years.

"Found anything?" You asked when Tommy returned to your side. He shook his head.

"No. Dream's probably already taken all of the useful things." He snorted, shaking his head. "You know, the funny thing is, that it was his rule not to steal or grieve. When I first arrived with Tubbo, he came to make the rules very clear, if we were going to be a part of his little society. And now he's broken those rules himself. Hypocritical son of a bitch."

You couldn't agree with him - because again, you didn't know the guy. The only thing you could do was place a hand on his shoulder, in an effort of comforting him. "Well, at least he's not trying to kill you guys."

Tommy laughed a dry laugh. "Not yet, no. But it's only a matter of time. Dream's killed many people in cold blood. He only kills when it benefits himself though, not because it's fun. Not because that makes the situation any better." Tommy looked outside. "I-I've... I've tried to kill him too. once."

Your eyes winded. It was almost like you heard regret in his voice - you didn't know if it was regret for trying to in the first place, or regret of not finishing the job. Either way, you were taken slightly back at his words. This was quite a deep subject, and you wouldn't take Tommy for the type of person to open up to someone he just met. Maybe he was more... Emotional at night?

...Nah.

You looked at him. "Why?"

"I didn't want him alive."

"that's fair."

"How is that fair!?"

"I was joking"

"Well, so was I." He mumbled, his voice a whisper. The tall boy stood in front of you, avoiding eye-contact. You felt bad for him, that a boy at his age lived such a crazy life. "It was the first time he had stolen my discs. He did it, only because of the fact that they were valuable to me. And he refused to give them back. I was so angry, so I..."

"Tommy." You said his name, looking directly at him. His blue eyes were distant. "I know that you aren't on good terms with Dream. And I know he's the biggest dickhead on the planet. But I want you to know that killing isn't the answer. Ever. At least in my opinion. You might not know how many lives they have left. They might never come back."

You didn't know how he'd take it. After all, you weren't one to lecture him after having known him for a day.

But Tommy sighed, placing his hand on top of yours. "I know (Y/n). I know."

You smiled and nodded, deciding to change the subject. "Well...Where should we go next?"

Tommy's eyes lit up. "I could show you Tubbo's house! It's amazing, and if we're lucky, Dream hasn't purified it yet!"

You nodded, stepping aside from the door. "Lead the way."

You both left Tommy's old house and ran in the direction of Tubbo's. You tried running in the shadows, so if someone was keeping watch from somewhere, they'd had a hard time spotting you. You were about half-way when Tommy suddenly stopped running in front of you, causing you to run right into him.

"Ouch!" You exclaimed, rubbing your head. "Tommy, what-"

He gave you a shut-the-fuck-up look, and you immediately did so. He was hiding behind a bush, looking at something. You crept up behind him, following his gaze.

There was a huge house, with lights inside of it. It apparently belonged to the guy named Punz. You narrowed your eyes to see four people behind the biggest window. They were all sitting around a table, talking.

"Is that-"

"It is. It's them."

You almost shit yourself. The enemies you've been given all sorts of information of was right there. You wanted to get closer - you couldn't see them properly - only the moving colors of black, green, white, and blue.

Tommy took a tight grip around your upper arm, keeping you in place. You both looked at each other, silently debating if going closer was worth it.

You considered it. Hundreds of times, over and over. It was very tempting to get a closer look of who you were up against. Which one of them was Dream? How old was he? What did he look like? Did he carry any weapons? If so, what kind?

But then you both shook your heads no. It wasn't worth it. If you got caught it would be over - and they could use the two of you to blackmail L'manburg. It wasn't a risk worth taking.

But that didn't mean you weren't going to do anything risky...

"The green one is Dream." Tommy explained to you in a whisper. Not that it helped that much, but at least now you knew what his signature color was, so you could associate the color green with 'RUN FOR YOUR FUCKING LIFE'

"So... If Dream's in there..." You mumbled, looking at Tommy. Almost smiling at him.

At first, he looked confused, not seeing where you were coming from. Then his eyes winded as he realized. He smiled as well. "Then that means he's not at his base."

And with a quiet high-five, the two of you were off to the Green bastards base.

It was a good thing Tommy knew the location of it, cause you sure wouldn't have found it alone. The entrance was very well hidden in the hills, and it was so small that you had to crawl your way in.

It was just as small as Tommy's old house but far more stylish. It was also very practically built. And oh boy, there were many chests.

You each began skimming through them, looking for any useful stuff. You felt the panic rise along with your heartbeat, as you were scared to death that Dream would walk (or crawl) inside at any point.

Normally, you were against stealing from others. It was morally wrong. But this Dream-guy was so big of an idiot, that you didn't even care. You had just gotten to a chest, which contained countless pieces of TNT, when Tommy spoke up. "I found the potions!"

You opened the next chest, shining and rare minerals greeting you. "And I found the diamonds!" You gasped, "And Tommy! There are 22 pieces of netherite!"

Tommy nearly dropped one of the potions. "No way. Take them!"

"Should I?" You questioned. "He would definitely notice."

Tommy snorted. "As if he's not going to notice the missing diamonds and potions. If you're going to get in trouble for hitting someone, you might as well hit them hard. That's the quote I live by."

"You need another quote to live by." You scolded but took the netherite anyway. You left some fish from your inventory in his chest because you felt bad. Not that it would make it better.

Tommy was still taking all of the potions, and while he did so, you decided to look through more chests. You stopped at one that caught your attention.

It was a chest filled with bows, crossbows, and arrows. Only regular arrows. You grinned widely. "Haha, I have better arrows than Dream!"

But then an odd arrow caught your eye. It was completely black, and even so, it seemed to light up the darkness a little bit. There was only one of them.

"Well, don't mind if I do." You murmured, taking the arrow and placing it in your quiver.

Tommy was done, and now it was time to get out of here. Tommy crawled out first, with you following close behind. You ran back towards Tommy's old house along the wooden path, when you heard footsteps behind you.

Without even thinking, you wrapped an arm around Tommy's waist, pushing him right into a bush that was almost completely hidden by the shadows.

Just a second later, three males turned around a corner, only 10 feet away from you. Your heart dropped to your stomach, as you realized it was none other than Dream walking in the middle. If you weren't mistaken, it was George and Sapnap walking by his side. Your shoulders got tight, your face turning pallid.

Tommy was incredibly silent in the bushes next to you. He had seen them as well.

And they had seen you. Dream stopped up a lot quicker than Sapnap and George did. The guy had a mask on. A white smiley face, tied around the upper part of his face, leaving only his mouth visible. He was very tall, making at least one of the guys next to him look like a smurf. He wore a green hood, black fingerless gloves, black ripped jeans, and a weird kind of backpack.

The one to his left had raven-dark hair, and a white headband wrapped around his forehead. He had a white T-shirt with an orange symbol on it, and black jeans as well. The one to Dream's right was the short one - a dark-brown haired male, with white goggles for his eyes and a blue T-shirt.

You didn't know what surprised you the most - the fact that they seemed around the same age as you, or their weird obsession with headwear.

Your leg muscles tightened, your whole body ready to run. You needed to think quickly. They didn't know you and you could use that to your advantage. Should you play dumb? That wouldn't be difficult. Or should you just run away? No, that would be dumb.

It ended up with you just staring dumbly right into the mask. Even when you narrowed your eyes, you couldn't see the guy's eyes through it. Could he see you?

"Who are you?" He asked with a voice you couldn't decide was scary or somewhat charming.

"Uh," you said dumbly. Hundreds of voices in your head screamed at you to answer different things. You couldn't decide which to chose, so you just pointed a finger at yourself, replying with a; "Who, me?"

You hated situations when you got put on the spot. You never knew what to say. You straight-up just improvised.

"Yes, you." Dream said sternly, already sounding bored.

The big bad guy was standing right in front of you, and here you were not knowing what to say.

You gulped upon seeing the guy with the headband draw out his sword. Uh, oh. Come on (Y/n), you really need to be smart here.

This had to be Dream, George, and Sapnap. It would be natural since they've just come from Punz's house. You had to take the chance. And oh, you would be doomed if you were wrong.

You laughed a forceful laughter. "Pfft, oh please guys, don't tell me you've already forgotten! My name is, uh, Nina! Nina the Nether lady! A guy named Punz ordered some blaze rods, so here I am! I'm just a little early, that's all."

What the actual fuck did you just say. You could almost feel Tommy contain his laughter.

"Punz hasn't ordered any blaze rods." The one with the goggles crossed his arms, looking at Dream. "Has he?"

"No, George, I don't believe so." Dream's mouth curled up into a smug grin, which worried you. A lot. "Besides, Nina, your clothing tells me otherwise." He stepped one step closer. "Now would you so kindly step out of the shadows, so we can see your face?"

You froze. He was onto you. Of course, he was, Wilbur told you he was smart.

You hadn't even realized that your face had been covered by shadows. What should you do? Should you make a run for it? There was no way you could run from them, but at least that way Tommy would be safe.

You decided it wouldn't matter if they saw your face - after all, they didn't know you. And maybe you could still convince them that you were indeed Nina the Nether lady who was just a very stylish person that happened to wear the same uniform as the people of L'manburg.

You stepped two steps forward, lightening from a lantern lighting up your face. You made an awkward smile, looking at the three of them.

To your huge surprise, Dream took a faltering step back as soon as he saw you. You didn't get to react, as Tommy suddenly jumped out of the bushes, holding up a blindness potion.

"RUN, (Y/N)!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, before throwing the potion at the three men.

You and Tommy ran as fast as your legs would carry you into the darkness, without looking back.

Sapnap and George were left coughing, walking confused around, not able to see a thing. They soon found each other and held onto one another, now looking for Dream.

But Dream was frozen in the very same spot you had left him in, his mouth hanging open. Even though you couldn't see it behind his mask, his eyes were wide, as if he'd seen a ghost.

"(Y/n)."

He had recognized you.

I'm pretty confident that you all know since I've made it pretty obvious, but Dream was in fact that very same gal who you were best friends with all those years ago <3
