Seiyon University, on a typical day, was never this populated. Students usually don't have many classes on a Friday afternoon, typically only having one or two in the morning before the rest of their day frees up. At least, that's how Jun's day panned out this semester, the bulk of his classes being earlier in the week. So, when he exits the main hall and watches as a group of women and men rush toward the Concert Hall, he raises his eyebrow and decides to follow them out of pure curiosity.

He's aware that it's likely just a set put on by some of the students in the Performing Arts faculty, but never has he seen so many people rush to their performances in the way that he just witnessed. Hence, it piqued his interest. Just who exactly was performing that they had both genders screaming and nearly running over people just to see them? Jun simply had to know.

As he makes his way over to the Concert Hall, he first notices the stage that has been set up on the field next to the building. Then he sees the flyers plastered all over the bulletin board just outside the main doors of the Concert Hall. Something about a 'dating app,' Jun just shakes his head and continues on his way. The closer he gets, the louder the screams get around him and he lets his gaze land on the boy standing on the center stage. Jun's eyes land on his outfit first: a pale blue t-shirt with the event logo printed onto it and he paired it with semi-ripped black jeans with black boots. Then he looks up and watches his face, the smiling adorning his face makes Jun pause for a second before he turns to leave. He can see why he has fans everywhere.

He misses how the boy introduces himself as Heo Jihyun.

A week later is when Jun succumbs to downloading that app he saw in passing after his curiosity led him to an event presented by Seiyon's dance team.

He had gone out for drinks with a couple of his friends when the topic of the app came up between two of them. The friend to his left raised his glass to his lips, taking a small sip before smiling, "Did you see some of the girls on that app? Man..." the friend paused, shaking his head. "They are stunning."

The friend to his right nodded his head quickly, "The creators are even hotter. I'm not even into men but I can admit when they are good-looking." Jun simply sat there, quietly sipping on his drink that was no longer making him feel anything. He doesn't get it; what's the point of a dating app? The relationships, statistically, never last longer than a week or they're used as a means to find flings. He nodded his head toward both of them, "But, I mean... how would their professor even grade that? The amount of couples they form?"

"C'mon Jun, don't be like that!" The friend to his left laughed, pushing the arm he had rested on the table. "If I had to guess though, it would be graded on its presentation and functionality. Nothing to do with statistics, their class isn't a math class."

Jun rolled his eyes and grumbled, "It's still stupid, though."

His friend to this right shook his head and pointed to his phone, "You won't know unless you download it and see for yourself," his friend reasoned, prompting Jun to groan. "Try it out for a week. No harm, no foul."

"If I regret this, I'm blaming you."

A little while later, now back in his dorm that is empty due to his roommate moving out halfway into the semester, Jun sinks into the couch placed in his cramped living room. He's by all means uncomfortable, tipsy, and a little out of his mind. Grabbing his phone from the table in front of him he sighs. His friend was right. There was, in theory, no problem with just seeing what the app is like. Downloading a dating app was not on his bucket list for the year, but Jun figures there's a first for everything as he opens the link his friend sent him and hits the download button.

He doesn't set up his profile until the afternoon of the following day. It's too embarrassing to think about, especially now that he knows that his friends are on the app as well. Jun reluctantly finds a presentable photo of himself and uses that, then creating his handle, and using his usual bio and clicks 'CREATE!' before closing his phone and shaking his head rapidly. He forgets about it as he prepares for his classes of the day, scheduled for later in the day.

With his bag slung around his shoulders, Jun quickly makes his way to his class. It just so happens that he has to pass by the dance studios on the way to the building that houses this specific class, and when he does his eyes catch a glimpse of the man he saw nearly a week and a half ago. He notices the sweat collecting on his white shirt, the fabric clinging to his body as he works with his instructor and fellow classmate. Jun blinks before snapping out of it and quickening his pace in the direction of the science building.

Jun's lab left him with more work than he had anticipated that day and offered to stay behind to finish more research and writings for his groupmates. About an hour had passed since he agreed to stay back and he is severely regretting it. His eyes had begun to feel heavy, deciding that closing his eyes for a couple seconds wouldn't be the end of the world. Resting his cheek on his arms Jun closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep.

On the other side of the building, Jihyun had just finished his class with his friend (and classmate, but they're friends before that) and his instructor. It was late, he was tired, and wanted nothing more than to bundle up in his blankets and crawl into bed. His friend passed him his jacket as he moved to grab his bag, "Sorry, Ji, something urgent came up so I won't be able to stay over tonight."

Jihyun simply chuckled, nodding his head in understanding. "Go provide for your boyfriend, he must miss you," he looks around him before pointing his head back to him. "You're here almost everyday."

"So are you," his friend stuck out his tongue in mock annoyance before shaking his head. "But you're right. I miss him, he misses me. Symbiotic relationship."

"I don't think that's how that term is supposed to be used..."

"Oh, hush, Mr. I-created-a-dating-app."

The two of them share a hearty laugh together before they part ways, his friend going in one direction and Jihyun heading toward the science building. His dorm was located on that side of campus which was a bit inconvenient, but it allowed him to cool off a bit more before he arrived home which was always a bonus. Today, however, he noticed a light emitting from the lab room and decided to inspect. Normally, he and his instructor or classmates are the only ones left on campus at this hour, so when he opened the door and noticed a figure sleeping by his computer and books, he smiled before he frowned.

It seemed like the boy didn't have a jacket and he checked the weather and saw that it was colder than usual. He stood there for a couple seconds before nodding his head to himself and pulling off his sweater. Folding it neatly and stealing one of the post-it notes the boy had around him, he wrote:

Jihyun left after nudging the boy's body slightly, causing him to wake up. Jun looked around and saw the figure disappear as the door closed behind him. When he noticed the jacket folded neatly with the post-it note on top, he smiled.

And if Jun made the connection between the not-so-discrete way of hiding his identity with the fact he was the dating app owner, Jun never said anything.

ʚ(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )ɞ TO THE BETA TESTERS. . . !
since the activity of the original applyfic died out, i decided to make some changes within both character limits as well as how the af will run. the server will be changed around a bit, rules will be more strict (and if not strict, rules set in place will be enforced more frequently), and various other things I have planned will be worked out within due time. the mod list has changed, since some of them weren't able to help much whether it be due to school or outside factors, and as such there is now only four of us.

the intro chapter, primarily centered around jun and jihyun is the key point of this revamp, as it will give you some insight as to what can come from this af. mat and I have the longest standing relationship build-up within click cupid and I believe that they are now the face of the app, seeing as jihyun (me) is the primary creator.

to those who have applied prior, I hope you guys enjoy the revamp! and to those who are new, I hope this can serve as a nice introduction to what can happen here.
