Y/N POV
Levi helped me get on his horse and we rode to the headquarters in silence.
He didn't try to talk to me and I didn't want to say anything. My mind was racing as the only thing I knew about this man was that he was Captain Levi, a hero, one of the best people in the scouts and that most of his teammates died. Other than that I didn't know anything about him.
I rested my head on his back as we rode in silence. He smelled super good and I could kind of hear his heartbeat making mine accelerate more. Marrying a stranger was terrifying.
We arrived at the headquarters and he held my hand as he led me inside. However, he looked straight ahead. Avoided looking at me and at the scouts who were causally passing and staring at us. Maybe because I was still wearing the wedding dress.
He took me inside the headquarters to the huge cafeteria. It was full of other scouts who seemed to be laughing and eating like if they had never ate before. They seemed so hungry.
"Sit here brat and I'll be back," Levi instructed me and for the first time we made eye contact.
His hair was straight and jet black. His eyes were dark and had a numb look in his eyes. Like if nothing could hurt him anymore.
I looked away because his gaze made me feel depressed.
"I'll be back," he mumbled and left me alone sitting in the table.
The table I was sitting on was towards the end of the cafeteria and isolated. I could feel the other scouts looking at me and hear them whispering about me.
I played with the wedding ring Levi got for me to pass time. Inside the golden band was his initial and mine. I wonder if he even knows my name.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw that Levi sat in front of me and placed a plate in front of me.
A slice of cake.
I forced myself to make eye contact with him but he quickly looked somewhere else.
"Did you want something else?" He asked.
"No. No thank you." Talking to him was hard and I suddenly felt insecure about my voice.
"Alright. Stay here brat until I come get you. I need to go talk to Erwin about something." Levi said getting up.
"W-Wait! Do you want me to go with you?" I asked.
He shot me a death glare that quickly made me look down and shut up. I didn't even dare to look up until I heard his footsteps far away.
I once again sat alone on the table feeling sad and lonely. I missed my friends and family. If my family cared about me why would they marry me to a stranger?
"Hi there! Are you going to eat that??" A brunette girl with a bubbly aura suddenly sat next to me. Her eyes went from my face, to my silk wedding dress, to the slice of cake in front of me.
I shook my head but before I could translate my thoughts into words she was already eating the slice of cake.
"Sasha, Jesus Christ! Where are your manners?? Please excuse her behavior. This is Sasha and I am Connie." A guy sat next to Sasha.
Connie's eyes went from my face, to my wedding dress, to another guy with light brown hair who sat in front of me in the table.
"Hello there beautiful. I'm Jean. And you are?"
"Knock it off, Jean," Connie quickly said. "She's captain Levi's wife."
Jean's and Sasha's expression completely changed.
"Please don't tell Captain Levi I ate your cake!" Sasha begged.
"I won't," I assured her. I was scared he'll get mad at me as well for making him believe I wanted cake but not eating the one he got me.
Jean's mouth open like he was about to say something but stopped as Connie spoke again.
"Mikasa! Armin! Over here!" Connie waved a woman with short black hair and a guy with blonde hair who were walking with their trays of food over to the table we were all sitting.
Mikasa and Armin sat down and both looked at my dress.
"Lovely night isn't it?" Armin asked as he began eating.
"Yeah," Jean said. "Where's the suicidal maniac?"
"Wait, you guys haven't seen Eren?" Armin asked as he stopped eating. His whole expression changed. Now he looked worried.
"No, isn't he always with you two?" Jean raised an eyebrow.
"No.... Eren is going through some stuff," Armin signed and Mikasa looked down looking depressed.
"Hey guys. Have room for one more?" I looked up and saw a guy with long black hair and sad green eyes.
"Eren!" Mikasa expression completely changed and a smile appeared on her face. Joy could be seen all over her eyes.
Eren smiled back at her but then his eyes landed on me.
"Eren sit down. Eat some dinner. We're all worried that you're not eating enough," Mikasa told Eren.
Mikasa didn't have to say anymore because Eren quickly sat down on the table and began eating.
His eyes occasionally meeting with mine and smiling at me whenever someone in the group said something funny or dumb. A smile that I returned.
"C'mon brat. Let's go." Levi quickly grabbed my wrist and forced me to my feet.
The table grew silence as they avoided looking at Levi handle me as if I were his property.
Everyone avoided eye contact except for Eren.
Eren's smile had completely faded and that sad look in his eyes returned as his eyes travelled from Levi to me and the silk wedding dress I was wearing.
