xlviii

Andrea found herself standing with the others as she listened to them continue to bicker. The idea seemed to be that they all go to get guns from the War Zone. Though it could be the worst and best idea that they had. What if the people from Hawkins that were looking for Eddie were there?

That could easily cause so many problems. They'd have to hide Eddie better than they already did. Andrea was nervous, so much could go so wrong. Andrea was afraid of what could easily go wrong.

Andrea found herself stopping for a moment. The woman was running through her mind of all the possibilities of what the card play could be. But that was not the only thing that could cross her mind.

If he could enter her mind, and she was just like him, could she enter his?

Andrea's eyes moved back and forth as she went over every possible way she could. Thinking back on her lessons... god, how did she not think of this before? This could've helped her a lot more than just running around with the others.

Entering his mind would be something that Andrea was not sure she wanted to do. It could be quite the experience for her and who knows, maybe she could find a way to free Max or at least hold all of this off so that no one else would get hurt.

That was all she could ask for.

"Normally, I'd agree but we need the weapons, so... I think it's worth the risk," Nancy spoke as she stopped leaning on the table as she spoke.

"Me too," Lucas agreed as he looked over at the Wheeler woman.

Dustin looked at his sister as he began to speak, "Yeah but is it worth the time? It'll take all day to bike there and back."

"Who said anything about bikes?" Eddie was quick to quip as he looked at the younger Henderson.

Steve let out a small tsk as he looked between Eddie and said, "You got some car we don't know about?"

"It's not exactly a car, Steve," Eddie rose so that he stood tall, looking at the Harrington man, "And it's not exactly mine, but, uh... it'll do," He looked to the others with a proud look before he turned to look at Max, "Hey, Red, uh, you got a ski mask or a bandanna, something like that?"

Max went deep in thought for a few moments before she rummaged through her stuff before pulling out a Michael Meyers mask, "Will this do?"

Andrea found herself crouched down behind someone's RV with the others. How absolutely no one noticed an entire group? That was something that Andrea was not responsible for. It was a very conflicting thing though.

Eddie made a hand motion and everyone slowly began to run across the field and around cars and homes. The sound of people talking came causing her to make a face. Eddie slid open the window before jumping in.

"That was suffocating," Eddie sighed before Steve practically threw Andrea threw, "Jesus!" Eddie let out a groan as she fell on him.

"Sorry," Andrea apologized as she moved so that Eddie could get up before Steve came through the window.

"Go! Come on!" Eddie called out for the others before locking the doors.

Andrea found herself moving to stand in the front as everyone trickled in after them. She watched as Eddie began to mess with the wires of the van. A pair of... tools? Andrea wasn't quite sure but something rested in his mouth that would help them out.

Steve leaned against the chair that Eddie sat in as he fiddled with the wires, Andrea standing next to the door, "Where'd you learn how to do this?" Steve asked as he watch Eddie cut quite a few of the wires.

"Well, when the other dads were teaching their kids how to fish or play ball, my old man was teaching me how to hot-wire," Eddie explained before he began to twist around a few pieces of the wire, "Now, I swore to myself I wouldn't wind up like he did, but now I'm wanted for murder, and soon, grand theft auto."

Andrea sighed as she placed a hand on her head, "How wonderful."

Eddie looked over at the woman as he sparked the wires, "So, uh, I'm really living up to that Munson name."

Robin then found herself running over to the others, "Eddie, I'm not sure I love the idea of you driving," Robin leaned against Steve.

"Oh, I'm just starting this sucker. Harrington's got her," Eddie looked back at Robin with a slight grin before leaning up with a wide grin, "Don't ya, big boy?"

"Eddie, he's taken," Andrea removed her hands from her head as she grinned ever so slightly.

The engine then started and music started to blare caused the owners to realize something was up. Both getting out of their little chairs as they began to yell.

"What the hell? Hey! Open this door!" The woman banged on the door behind Andrea causing the girl's eyes to widen.

"Hey!" The man began to bang against the window, trying to help his wife.

"They locked the doors!" The woman was clearly angered by this as she began beating harder.

"Shit! Go!" Steve exclaimed at Eddie who practically jumped out of the seat while Steve jumped over and sat in it, "It's just a car. Everybody, hang onto something!" Steve knew how to raise his voice.

Andrea simply sat down on the floor as she leaned against the door that the woman happened to be beating on. Everyone else found somewhere to sit or something to grab onto.

"Oh my god! Let's go! Let's go!" Lucas yelled as he fell back into a seat with a look of pure fear at what was happening around them.

"Drive, Steve! Drive!" Dustin yelled as he looked out the windows before taking a seat of his own.

"Go! Go! Go!" Robin yelled as she grabbed onto whatever she could get her hands onto.

Steve pressed down harshly on the gas causing everyone to jolt forward unexpectedly. Andrea held onto the walls even tighter as her eyes widened. Oh shit.

"Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!" Lucas kept yelling as they watched the people around them.

"Shit! They look pissed!" Dustin then yelled as he looked at the people around them.

"I mean it's not every day you lose your house and your car in one fell swoop!" Robin stammered out as she held firmly onto the chair.

Andrea looked mildly annoyed as the RV began to rock as Steve continued to drive before he yelled, "Hold on! Hold on!" Steve began to yell causing Andrea to flinch.

Andrea blinked as the RV then proceeded to hit a trash can while everyone yelled and looked out the windows behind them. Andrea made a face as she breathed heavily.

"Okay," Steve was trying to keep control of the RV.

Andrea felt her headache begin to get worse. The woman cringed as she ran her fingers through her hair before she began to put pressure on her forehead. She moved to sit in the captain seat beside Steve as they drove.

She closed her eyes tight as she tried to focus on getting the pain to go away till her mind slipped somewhere else. Her mind fell on her father, remembering the times in the Lab when they would play cards. When he would help her when the other numbers wanted nothing more than to get rid of her.

Andrea felt as the world around her changed, causing her eyes to snap open. She looked around before her eyes settled on her father, looking as he did when they were last with each other, as he looked slightly confused before his eyes fell on her.

Had she done it? Had she entered his mind? Or had he entered hers once again?

"I see you've remembered," was Peter's simple response as he looked at his daughter.

She looked as she did now but he looked as he had before. She had done it. Her eyebrows knitted together as she looked at him.

"I did this?" She asked softly, "I mean I thought that it might be possible but with the killer headache..."

She noticed the amused expression that the other blonde held, "That was all my doing."

"Well you better get your shit together," Andrea placed her hands on her hips, "I'm tired of my head hurting."

"And I'm tired of having to pry for your friend's plans," was his simple response, "You can't choose sides yet you hide them from me."

"I hid most of them from you," Andrea retorted as she sighed, "One I really would let you take if it didn't cause the END OF THE FUCKING WORLD."

Andrea watched the man carefully. Still in shock as to how she had done this, but for some reason, she had a small feeling of dread.

"No one bad is ever truly bad," Andrea tilted her head as she looked at him, "Why can't this be something else, Dad?"

Dad. It was the first time she had ever actually called him that and even he seemed a little surprised over that. It had just slipped past the woman's lips so easily, even she had barely caught it.

"You know why," His words sunk into her skin, "You see how you have been treated. You see what the world is like."

"But things can be different. Someone can make the change," Andrea spoke as she stood her ground, "I understand what you mean. Everything is just a receptive cycle and for what? But that cycle isn't terrible. Changes can be made."

"Love has blinded you," were his simple words.

"And I could say the same about you," Andrea looked at him as she held her head high, "No matter what side I fall on you refuse to kill me. You make me sit and watch this sick torture. You come after the people I care about - I can't let that slide."

"They are just lesser people," He walked over to her as he looked down at her with a harsh look.

"No," Andrea spoke firmly.

"You think I can't see?" He questioned as he shook his head, "He may follow you everywhere but would the others?"

"Sometimes all you need is one person," Andrea shot as she stood tall with a deep glare, "If you..."

"I already said he was off the table, my dear," He repeated his words from once before as he held a dark look in his blue eyes.

"You let the bats hurt him," Andrea deadpanned as she sneered, "You hurt him," The lights of the room began to flicker.

"I thought it would make you stand down," Peter spoke as he kept his sentences short.

Andrea glared as she flicked her head up as her nose started to bleed, Peter lifted into the air, "It only made me angrier. If you touch him..."

Despite the small look of pain, Peter seemed confident, "I always knew you had it in you."

Andrea only made his pain even worse, "I will end you."

"He shouldn't be the one you should be worried about," Peter strained out before he caused a surge of pain in Andrea's head, causing her to let him go as her hands flew to her head, "Even after how that girl treated you... how those others treated you... you still fight for them."

Andrea breathed as she held her head, slowly moving to look at him as she glared, "I don't fight for them. I fight for my brother. For my sister. For Steve! FOR EVERYONE WHO IS LIKE US THAT CAN'T DO ANYTHING!"

"You fight for the stupid logic of live, wake up, repeat, reproduce, and die!" Peter sneered as he glared down at his daughter.

"I FIGHT FOR THE SIDE THAT DOESN'T KILL! THAT DOESN'T WANT THE END!" Andrea screamed as she forced herself to her feet.

"The world ending... it would just be a new start," He tried to explain to her, "Think of what could be accomplished."

"Accomplished?" Andrea scoffed as she shook her head, "Look, I hate the world and the people almost as much as you do... but I can't handle it."

And Andrea couldn't. She feared for what was going to happen to the people she loved. She needed to keep everyone safe and she needed to keep fighting. She needed to believe that what her father was doing was bad.

Andrea needed to keep the people that she needed safe. She needed Dustin and Steve to keep living their lives. She needed Eddie to stay safe. Her heart had grown multiple sizes since she met these people, they made their ways into her heart.

They showed her what it was like to feel for someone and Andrea would do anything for them.

"You handled it once before," He spoke as he gave a look of anger to her, "You did back in 1979."

"That was different," Andrea sneered as she looked appalled.

"How?" He asked as his blue eyes seemed icey.

"Because that was self-defense," Andrea shot as she shook her head, "They were going to kill me."

"And you killed them first," He held a small grin as he looked at her, "You followed my words."

"You started that first," Andrea shot as she shook her head, "Don't you try to spin that on me. I did not start it. I was going to let them kill me because I thought maybe I'd get out of that damned lab!"

"You still did it," He pointed out as he began to walk in circles around her, "You can't tell me that you did not like what you did."

"I felt nothing!" Andrea yelled as she ran a hand through her hair, "How can I like something that I truly felt nothing for?"

And that is when Andrea felt herself snapping out of it. As she came back to reality, wiping her nose as she looked around the RV with a tired expression. Her head leaned against the coolness of the window as her chest rose and fell.

"Hey..." Steve's voice was soft, Andrea could tell he was trying to keep himself calm anyway, "What happened there?"

Andrea chewed on her lip as she found herself moving uncomfortably in her seat, "I went into his mind."

"Hold on... what?" Steve questioned as his worry only went up.

Andrea shifted uncomfortably as she continued to move around. She noticed that they were long gone from the trailer park as the world around them was now covered with trees. She wasn't even buckled in her seat. She was just sitting there in a weird position.

"I entered his mind," Andrea whispered as she ran her fingers through her hair, "I just accidentally did..."

Steve's eyes were wide as he looked between the outside world before looking over at Andrea, "Okay..."

Everything was crazy in the world. Or at least whatever was left of the world... slowly it was going away. The world was being attacked by another dimension. Another dimension that was more dangerous and so weird. Creatures and weird crawler things that survived there.

How any of the group lived through this was a question that Andrea wanted the answers to. This was crazy. No teenager should be fighting inter-dimensional creatures just to keep the entire world alive. The entire world which had always been a cruel place after all. What was there to keep going?

There were other people to keep alive. There was an entirely new generation of innocent people who had yet to live. Yet to experience the normalities of life that everyone needed. They had no clue of what was happening and they probably would never know or understand it. Or that was the hope.

"Don't let him bother you," Steve was trying to be soft with her.

"Just focus on driving, Harrington. I don't need you getting any of us hurt," Andrea gave him a small look as she turned her head take.

"Talking to you keeps me calm," Steve spoke simply as he removed one hand from the wheel to run his hands through his hair, "I need to be calm in driving this damn thing."

"Yeah, stay calm," Andrea tried to tease him as she rubbed her head, "You need to stay calmmmm!"

"Now you are acting drunk," Steve shook his head as he tried to hide a smile.

"I am not," Andrea shot as she acted appalled, "Do you want me too? I can!"

"No!" Steve was quick to exclaim knowing that she would really act drunk in a skinny minute.

"Oh, Stevie! I can't believe what was happeninggg," Andrea mocked her drunk self as she held her hands in the air, "Amanduhhh and Ryannnn!"

"Come on," Steve faked a sigh as he let his head fall back against the seat, "Andyyyy! Can you please not do that, thank you."

Andrea faked a pout before she looked back out as her fingers tapped against the window, "How mean. I thought you loved me."

"I know you did not just say that," Steve turned his head as he raised an eyebrow, staring straight ahead but Andrea could tell he was trying not to look at her.

Andrea let out a small whistle, "Damn, Stevie."

"Not that nickname," Steve sighed again and Andrea grinned.

"Sorry, darling," Andrea clicked her tongue before she adjusted her posture, "You know I gotta mess with you."

And she did. She had her times where she loved to tease him and just try to get a rile out of him and often he would try to tease the shit out of her in return but sometimes he'd just let her tease as he made jokes.

But now the two were quiet, Andrea was no longer teasing Steve and Steve was just sitting in his silence. It was not until Nancy Wheeler made her way to the front that anything else came up.

"How's it handle?" Nancy questioned after a moment.

"Not half bad," Steve spoke as he made a face before looking over at Andrea before readjusting his grip on the wheel, "Considering this is a... house," He spoke after a minute.

The music continued to blare around while everyone tried to make some sort of conversation, though their minds were too focused on what was ahead.
