Andrea stared into Steve's eyes as he inspected her face. She blamed herself partially for him getting hurt. For him getting kidnapped. She should've been there, she should've prevented it from happening but because she had to have fought with him, she ran off and she wasn't there.
For the most part, Steve was okay. He was alive and he was breathing. Dustin was as well. That was all that Andrea had hoped for, she had hoped that the two would be okay. She had hoped that the monster hadn't gotten to them first.
And he hadn't.
She had gotten their first.
"What happened?" Steve asked softly, Andrea felt herself getting shy.
She shook her head, trying to figure out what to say. Though, she couldn't bring herself to tell him in words. She was so overwhelmed by the emotions that crashed over her. So, why not show him?
Andrea closed her eyes as her nose began to bleed. She knew that Steve would be confused for a moment, but he'd figure it out. She let him see the talk she had with Max, she let him see what had happened in the sauna, she let him see what had happened the entire time in the cabin before letting go.
Her eyes opened once again and Steve looked at her. Something in his eyes changed as he looked down at her with a smile before he placed a kiss to her lips, being very cautious of the gash that resided on her face.
Andrea was the first to pull back as she looked up at Steve, "I'm so sorry I didn't say anything... I shouldn't have gotten mad, god I blame..."
Steve placed a finger on her lips causing her to stop talking, "You had a reason to be upset. We both said things, I said things. You couldn't have prevented this."
"I could've tried," Andrea was stubborn.
Steve pushed a few strands of Andrea's curls back, "You're going to have to stop me from killing him."
Andrea knew who he was referring to, he was referring to Jonathan, "I'll take care of him later. Calm your tits."
Steve shook his head at her words, "Him and Billy," He spoke before Robin interrupted the two.
"Hey, lovebirds. Can we not?" Robin questioned, her hands on her hips as she tried not to grin.
"Hello to you too," Andrea leaned into Steve, letting the side of her head press into his chest.
"Lucas?" Is that his little sister?
"What are you doing here?" Lucas questioned his younger sister.
"Ask them, it's their fault," Dustin pointed back at Steve and Robin.
Steve pulled Andrea along as they walked over to the others, Andrea's eyes twinkling with joy, "True, yeah. Totally true. It's absolutely our fault."
"Recruiting little kids? This is why I'm more responsible," Andrea whispered jokingly.
"Shut up," Steve looked down at his girlfriend with a feigning a look of annoyance.
Robin pointed back at the car, "I don't understand what happened to that car."
"I did," Andrea spoke as she peered over at Robin, Steve kept a grip on her waist as she leaned forward.
"Andrea and El have superpowers," Dustin explained as he pointed between his sister and their friend.
"I'm sorry?" Robin asked, completely thrown off by that.
"Superpowers. Andy threw it with her mind. C'mon, catch up," Steve pulled Andrea back into him as he motioned at Robin with his free hand.
"That's Eleven and Andrea?" Andrea questioned with wide eyes, "I've seen Andrea around!"
"No dip," Andrea snickered.
"Who's El?" Robin then questioned.
"I'm sorry, who are you?" Nancy questioned Robin, as she leaned in with a confused look.
"I'm Robin, I work with Steve," Robin began to explain as she looked over at Nancy.
"She cracked the top-secret code," Dustin explained before watching his sister's expression.
"Yeah, which is how we found out about the Russians," Steve explained as he glared at Jonathan.
"Told y'all! Russians weren't a blood loss dream," Andrea huffed as she fiddled with her bracelet.
"Russians? Wait, what Russians?" Jonathan questioned.
"The ones I crushed," Andrea shot at the Byers boy.
"The Russians," Steve was a bit harsher than Andrea was.
"Those were Russians?" Max questioned as her eyes widened.
"No! They were fairies," Andrea retorted as she looked at the redhead.
"Some of them," Erica answered as she looked at Max.
Lucas placed his hands in the air, "What are you talking about?"
"Didn't you hear our code red?" Dustin questioned as he looked at his friend.
"Yeah, that I couldn't understand half of what you were saying," Mike snapped at Dustin, causing Andrea to snap her fingers.
"Goddamn low battery," Dustin cussed as he looked over at his sister.
Andrea did not care what the hell was happening, no one was snapping at her brother. She would easily flip out on anyone and everyone in the room.
"How many times do I have to tell you with the low battery?" Steve questioned exasperatedly, Andrea shrugged her shoulders in response.
Dustin looked over at Steve as he shot, "Well, everything worked out, didn't it, Steve?"
"Worked out? We almost died!" Erica yelled at Dustin.
"Yeah, but we didn't, did we?" Dustin exclaimed as he looked down at the younger girl.
"It was pretty damn close," Steve spat before going quiet upon seeing Andrea's expression, "Sweetheart, you couldn't do anything."
"I could've," She muttered simply before watching as Eleven walked away from the group.
"Okay, Russians?" Lucas questioned not believing it.
Andrea let out a groan as they were throwing out the same questions over and over again. Why couldn't anyone grasp the concept of Russians in America? After all, there was some sort of fight between the countries happening.
"As in, they're working for the Russian government?" Lucas then questioned once again.
"What are you not comprehending?" Dustin questioned as he looked at Lucas.
No one had noticed that Eleven had walked away from the group or how freakishly pale she began to get. She still had a bit of blood on her nose from the events of the cabin. She began to pant while everyone continued to argue over the Russians.
"Am I not speaking English?" Dustin snapped as he looked at Lucas, "We have a full-blown Red Dawn situation," Dustin explained.
"So, this has nothing to do with the gate?" Max retorted, giving Dustin a look.
"It has everything to do with the gate," Dustin snapped back at Max.
Everyone continued to argue over the same topic over and over again. Dustin got more heated as he went off with Lucas and Max not wanting to believe him. It wasn't until Eleven had fallen to the ground with a loud groan of pain that anyone had gone quiet.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Steve spoke as he and Andrea made the first move to get to Eleven.
"El! El!" Mike began to exclaim as he got their first.
The girl continued to whimper while Erica asked, "What's wrong with her?"
"What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong?" Mike repeated the question three times as he looked at Eleven.
"My leg, my leg," Eleven cried tiredly as her face twisted in pain.
"Her leg, okay," Everyone looked down at her leg as they pulled the fabric of her pants up.
"Get that off," Jonathan spoke as he looked at Nancy.
"Okay," Nancy began to move the fabric back.
As soon as they pulled the fabric back everyone let out a loud noise of disgust. Her leg was purple, a large boil of sorts pressing out of it and it was moving. Andrea was trying to convince herself not to throw up.
"Oh - god," Andrea let out a series of gags.
The thing inside of her leg continued to move around and Andrea turned her head into Steve's shoulder so that she wouldn't throw up. She did not like how that looked. At all.
Eleven began to cry and wail in pain as it continued to move. Mike began yelling her name trying to keep her situated but it seemed that the girl was breaking from reality.
Andrea looked back as Mike yelled, "El! El! El! El, are you okay? EL!" He continued to yell at her as she screamed.
Will looked at Andrea, he looked like he was freaking out or as if he was going to be sick as well. Andrea shook her head signaling she couldn't look at it.
It continued to move, Eleven kept screaming and Andrea couldn't handle it. It was putting her back, putting her back to a time when screams were all that she heard.
"NO!"
"Jesus Christ!"
Andrea got up, barely sparing a moment to look at Eleven before she was running off. Running to find a bathroom or something.
She found the bathrooms, pushing the door open as she fell into one of the open stalls before she started throwing up again. She held her hair back as she coughed, tears clouding in her eyes.
She could still hear Eleven's screams. It only made her throw up more hearing how the girl kept screaming, her cries.
Andrea ran out of the bathroom, watching as Eleven flung the creature from her leg right at her causing her to let out a shriek before she used her abilities to slam it on the ground near her before a boot stomped down on it.
Andrea turned to look as Hopper, Joyce, and one weird old guy half-dressed now stood behind her.
"God damn, took you all long enough," Andrea sighed as she wiped her mouth.
Now was the time that everything had to be explained yet again. Andrea was quick to walk back over to Steve who Dustin was now standing by. She gave him a smile, looping her arms with both boys.
They walked over to where the group had now relocated. Standing and sitting along the concrete area that lined the fountain. Though, the water was still. For the most part, it was pretty dark as well but the glow of some of the store lights kept them from being unable to see.
"To stop El, to kill her and pave a way into our world," Mike began to explain as he looked at his sister.
"And it almost did. That was just one tiny piece of it," Nancy explained as her hand rested firmly on her hip.
"How big is this thing?" Hopper questioned, now trying to get a general size idea.
But that was the thing. You never could get a size on it because who knows, it can grow and it can shrink. Hell, it can split apart and come after you that way. Just thinking about the creature made Andrea sick. She was absolutely disgusted by it.
Though, the words that Billy had said to her... the monster had said to her never left her mind. She wasn't the target, but her friends and family were.
And she wouldn't let anything happen to them.
"It's big," was Jonathan's grand response.
"If it hasn't added to the body tool! Or oh, if it hasn't turned back into a pile of guts!" Andrea exclaimed with a disgusted look.
"With how it was at the cabin, thirty feet at least," Jonathan looked over at Hopper.
"Yeah," Lucas agreed before wincing, "It sorta destroyed your cabin. Sorry."
"Okay, so, just to be clear, this... this big fleshy spider thing that hurt El, it's some kind of gigantic... weapon?" Steve questioned.
"Yes," Nancy answered with no hesitation.
"But instead of, like, screws and metal, the Mind Flayer made its weapon... with melted people," Steve spoke slowly as he tried to wrap his brain around it.
"Yes, exactly," Nancy exclaimed before Andrea could speak.
"Yeah, okay. I - yeah, I'm just making sure," Steve bumped his hip against Andrea's causing her to nearly fall into her brother.
"Are we sure this thing is still out there, still alive?" Joyce questioned as she looked over at Andrea, everyone did.
The girl felt uncomfortable under everyone's gaze, "I know it is. I didn't kill it, sure I pulled it apart but... that thing was fighting me. Like it understood my plan. It can melt back into slush and turn back into that thing in different sizes... it's damn well still alive."
Max pointed his hand at Andrea, "They beat the shit out of it, but, yeah, it's still alive."
"But if we close the gate again," Will began to explain.
"We cut the brain off from the body," Max states as she looks over at Will.
"And kill it," Lucas said with certainty, "Theoretically."
"Yahoo! Yahoo!" The strange man waved papers in the air as he walked around in his boxers and tank top.
"Is he a sex offender?" Andrea whispered to her brother who gave her a look like 'do you even know what that is?'
Andrea followed as Dustin motioned that they needed to follow this man to one of the tables. Dustin unhooked his arm from Andrea and walked over while Andrea wasn't sure whether to go or stay back.
She didn't move until Steve did, pulling her closer to the group but still being a few inches away. Andrea caught a glimpse of the paper that the man had smacked down and her eyebrows shot up.
He pointed to a point on the paper, "Okay, this is what Alexei called the hub. Now, the hub takes us to the vault room."
"Okay, where's the gate?" Hopper questioned as he peered over with his hands resting on his side.
"Right here. I don't know the scale on this," The man continued to point at various points of the paper, "But I think it's fairly close to the vault room, maybe fifty feet or so."
"More like five hundred," Erica walked over to the man, "What, you're gonna waltz in there like it's commie Disneyland or something?"
The look on Hopper's face was priceless, "I'm sorry, who are you?" The man questioned.
"Erica Sinclair, who are you?" She retorted with such sass.
"Murray... Bauman," He spoke as if it were obvious.
"Listen Mr. Bunman, I'm not trying to tell you how to do things, but I've been down in that shithole for twenty-four hours. And with all due respect, you do what this man tells you, you're all gonna die," Erica pointed at everyone before looking back at the man.
"I'm sorry, why is this four-year-old speaking to me?" The man questioned angrily.
"Freedom of speech, fucker!" Andrea cheered before being quieted down by Steve who was trying not to laugh.
"Um, I'm ten, you bald bastard!" Erica was not happy.
"Erica!" Lucas scolded his younger sister in shock.
"Just the facts," Erica turned back to her brother before speaking.
"She's right. You're all gonna die, but you don't have to. Excuse me," Dustin walked forward as he followed after Erica's train of thought, "Sorry, may I?"
"Please," The man retorted with the fakest look of sincerity.
Andrea watched as her brother sat down on a chair. Taking the paper and pulled it closer to him as he began to examine it. Andrea looked at Steve with her brows furrowed before turning back to her brother to see what he was going to say.
Dustin examined the paper before speaking, "Okay, see this room here? This is a storage facility, there's a hatch in here that feeds into their underground ventilation system. That will lead you to the base of the weapon," Dustin began to mark this trail out in marker, "It's a bit of a maze down there, but between me and Erica we can show you the way."
"You can show us the way?" Hopper looked as if this was the stupidest thing he heard.
Dustin made a hand motion as he began to speak yet again, "Don't worry. You can do all the fighting and the dangerous hero shit, and we'll just be your... navigators."
Hopper nodded with a fake smile before shaking his head, "No," shaking his head yet again, "Nope."
And then everyone separated. Going around the room trying to find different things. Andrea watched as everyone embraced while she sat on the floor beside the car that she had thrown. Steve was tossing stuff with Robin, though she occasionally caught his gaze.
"I'm walking them out," Andrea rose to her feet after hearing the master plan.
Dustin and Erica would navigate the adults who were going to trudge deep within commie territory, but from a safe zone. They had to navigate from Cerebro. Steve and Robin would be going with the two just for safety measures.
Andrea walked beside her boyfriend as he held the keys to the convertible in his hand, "Oh, man, now this... this is what I'm talkin' about!"
"Toddfather?" Robin questioned.
"Oh, screw Todd! Steve's her daddy now," Andrea let out a loud laugh as Steve swung their arms.
"Actually, I'm the man of the relationship. So speaking, you're her mommy now," Andrea teased.
"Gross!" Erica exclaimed.
"Did you just talk about yourself in third person?" Robin questioned as the group got into the car, Andrea standing outside of it as she leaned in.
"Did he just call himself Daddy?" Erica questioned.
"All right, where are we going," Steve asked before looking over at Andrea, "Be careful."
"When am I ever not? She retorted before kissing his cheek and looking at the others, "If you see anything... I don't care what the fuck is happening get the hell away."
"Yes ma'am," Erica had a mocking tone.
"Don't get hurt," Dustin ordered his sister before telling Steve, "Weather top."
"Where?" Steve questioned.
"Just drive!"
Andrea backed away as the car began to pull out of the parking lot. She watched as the car drove away with a shake of her head before she began to walk back in the door. Andrea re-entered the mall before she went down the stairs re-entering the food court.
Andrea noticed how everyone had their own sentiment moments with their family members. A small smile rested on her lips as she watched, fiddling with her bracelet.
"Hey, we should probably go," Mike spoke as Hopper and Eleven embraced.
"We'll keep her safe," Andrea spoke to Hopper as Mike and Max helped Eleven.
"Mike?" Hopper questioned before adding, "Be careful."
Andrea smiled at the small interaction between the two, hoping that now they would get along. It was about time they did.
Andrea followed after the other kids in hopes of getting Eleven out of the danger zone. Walking back out to Nancy's car.
"This is going to be one hell of a night," Andrea huffed as she climbed through the back of the car, "One hell of a night..."
