it's okay to be delusional
a/n: this chapter is broken
into two parts
The feeling of exhilaration does things to someone. Whether it be a kid who can't wait to get a dog or even someone of adult age, actually experiencing life for the first time.
Growing up, not everyone has the same opportunities as the next. But hopefully as time passes, those missed opportunities are made up.
Like Alina for example. Except her life story would probably be as long as Avengers: Endgame. Linda, the mother figure in her life, was always busy working at her shop or traveling. Of course Alina was along for the journey as well, which was why she was homeschooled. That's a story for another day.
Today was the day, a Saturday in May, Alina would attend her first concert. She invited Conan and Liv, the two of them rearranged their schedules.
Conan already in L.A., Liv coming in from Salt Lake City.
The plan was the two of them to go to Alina's house to get ready, and then the three of them would take Conan's car to the venue.
The ringing of the doorbell sounded throughout Alina's house. Walking out of the bathroom, where she was doing her hair, she opens the door to see Conan.
"Help." His hands were full of various things.
"Are you moving in?" Laughing, Alina stepped forward to grab the stack of clothes.
"No, I just wanted to have a few options for outfits." Conan drops the rest of his things on the couch. "Besides, if I'm meeting your boyfriend today, I want to make a good impression."
"He's not my boyfriend," Alina reminded Conan as she put the stack of clothes on the counter and then walked back into the bathroom.
"Yet."
"Can you get that, please." Alina walked back into the bathroom. There was knock on the front door.
"Oh thank god. Can you tell our dearest best friend that it's okay to be delusional once in a while?"
"What now?" Sliding her sunglasses to the top of her head, Liv raised her eyebrows.
"It's nothing, just Conan wanting to be matchmaker." Alina started combing her fingers through her hair to loosen her curls.
"Are we talking about Harry?" Liv questioned.
"No."
"Yes."
"Uh, okay. I'm going to meddle and say let's just get ready." Flicking her eyes back and forth between the two, Liv frowned.
"I like that plan." Immediately nodding her head, Alina smiled.
"Fine." Rolling his eyes, Conan eventually nodded his head.
"Yay!" Liv clapped her hands.
"So what are we thinking for outfits?"

"Make a right on Pincay Dr." the voice from the GPS says.
"Lina, which parking lot entrance do we go to?" Conan asks, as he stops at the light.
Looking at her phone, Alina finds Harry's contact and texts him. A few seconds later, her phone pings.
"You're going to go to around till you see the gates with the security guard."
Leaning forward, Liv puts her face between the driver and passenger seats.
"I never asked, but where are our seats at?"
"I don't know, when Harry gave me the tickets, he also gave me his manager's phone number. I have to call him when we get to the door," Alina answered honestly.
"I.D.," the security guard requests.
Leaning over Conan, Alina smiles at them as she hands over her ID.
"Are these your guests, ma'am?" The security guard gestures to the other two.
"Yes."
"Go ahead." Nodding his head, the security guard hands back Alina's card. He walks to open the gate fully while talking into his microphone on his collar.
"Mr. Azoff will be waiting for you."
Conan drives forward where he is signaled to park by the other cars.
As the three of them got out of the car, a new voice was heard.
"Ms. Alonzo?"
Turning around, Alina met the eyes of a guy, tall at the that, holding three lanyards.
"Mr. Azoff?"
"Please call me Jeff. Here are your lanyards and whenever you're ready please follow me."
Noticing Liv and Conan's faces, Alina shrugs her shoulders.
As the three of them were walking into the Forum, there were people running around. Some stopped to look at the trio.
"Feel free to take anything from the table," Jeff gestured towards a table full of desserts that were especially made for tonight.
Conan grabs a bag of jellybeans, Liv takes a cupcake, and Alina takes a chocolate dipped pretzel stick.
"Alina, hey!" A voice came down the hall.
Turning around, Alina saw Sarah and Mitch, along with other people.
"Hey, guys! These are my best friends, Conan and Liv," smiling, Alina introduced her friends. "Conan, Liv, this is Mr. Nascar and his accomplice."
"That was one time," Mitch mumbled.
"Ignore him, are you guys ready for the show?" Sarah asked.
"Super! I've been listening to Harry's music on repeat for the past couple days," Conan admits.
"Sorry to interrupt, but we better get going. And you two, please get ready," Jeff intervened, holding out the lanyards.
Taking them and putting them on, the trio nods their heads and say their goodbyes to Sarah and Mitch.
"You guys will be sitting in section 136, in the first row. Harry specifically asked for you guys to be seated here," stopping before entering the actual area, Jeff pauses, "And Ms. Alonzo, Harry has informed me about the situation. The contract cannot, in no way shape or form be disclosed, so please try to refrain yourself from making any kind of mistakes.
"Ms. Wilde will be standing somewhat in front of your section, to make it easier for Harry. That boy is one of the most stubborn people I know and he won't let this down anytime soon. And while I'm his manager, he's practically family so this is the least I can do," he then continues to walk through the doors that lead to their assigned seats. After passing the two security guards blocking the door, Jeff leads the trio to their designated seats.
"Harsh," Liv leans to whispers into Alina's ear, making her sigh in agreement.
As they walk through the Forum, several fans are seen walking around. Whether it be to their seats, to the bathroom, or even to get food. At the same time, some curious ones turn their heads.
Walking up the stairs, Jeff motions the three of them to the section.
"The lanyards I gave you, give you access to anywhere in the venue. Enjoy the show and remember what I said, Ms. Alonzo. Your seats are 1 through 3," slightly smiling, he walks away.
Blowing air out of his mouth, Conan whistles.
"Wow."
"I know, but look we made it," taking a deep breath, Alina takes one look around the room.
"Come on," she makes a face as she notices Liv and Conan giving her a deadpan look. "Okay, that was a little harsh, but I'm sure that's just how Jeff is. Oh, look the concert's starting," Alina frowned, then grinned as she turned her head to look at the stage as the lights started to dim.
