"You're late." A stern and disappointed voice spoke, glaring down at Hyunjin. His eyes were practically glued to the floor, unable to look up at his frustrated teacher. What could he even do in this situation? Sure people liked him and all but he can't just charm his way out of being late could he? "Would you like to explain why you've enter the class so late?" He asked him, waiting expectantly for an answer.

Soonhee. He wanted to scoff out, wanting to everyone to know that the real reason he was late was because of his selfish caretaker. But what was he supposed to say? My babysitter didn't drop me and my brother off on time? Embarrassing, why should a junior who is perfectly capable of taking care of himself have a babysitter? "I... I'm sorry," was all he could choke out, trying to decide whether which option he'd rather face.

All he could hear is a sigh, and a hand touch his shoulder. "Since this is your first offense, I'll let you off easy today. However if you're late again then I'll have to make you take a punishment just like everyone else." They explained to him, and all Hyunjin could do was nod. Thankfully, many people in the class didn't care as they were quickly finishing up any homework that they had forgot to do.

He glanced up to see the class president, narrowing her eyes at him before shaking her head and going back to her usual business. There was an ugly feeling in his heart, almost a feeling of disappointment in himself? Hyunjin didn't know why though, it wasn't his fault for being late, so what was the reason for him being disappointed himself? "You good Hyunjin?"

He looked up to see Felix looking at him with a concerned look, urging him to sit down. The boy took a quick glanced towards their teacher before sitting down in his seat. The duo waited for a few minutes, needing the teacher's attention to be placed else where so that they could have an easier time talking to each other. While Hyunjin rummaged around his belongings for a notebook and pencil, he noticed Felix scribbling something on a sticky note.

He tore the sticky note off the pad when he was done and stuck it onto his desk, going back to doing school work. Confused, Hyunjin took the note in his hand, and quickly skimmed through what it said. 'Why were you late? You never are' is what it read. Seemed like Felix was opting to go for passing notes to communicate with each other. He sighed, taking a quick peek to see where the teacher was before writing a reply on the backside of it.

'My mom isn't home. so a caretaker had to bring me here', he responded, passing the note back to its original owner. Hyunjin wondered if Jeongin was having the same problem as he did when he entered the class. It hasn't been long since his step brother stared school at his high school, would they be mad at him or would he let it slide? Not all teachers thought the same, so you never now what will happen to someone.

Felix nudged Hyunjin's arm to get his attention, giving him a new sticky note with a reply on it. He took it without question, narrowing his eyes at the words written on it. 'You mean your babysitter??' He kicked the boy's leg in retaliation, hushing the boy despite him not saying anything verbally. He knew he had the crumble up these notes before the class ended so no one could find them. No one needed to know of Hyunjin's unfortunate babysitter.

"Hyunjin, Yongbok. What do you think you're doing?" The teacher suddenly spoke, catching both boys off guard. They looked up from their desks to see that their teacher had stopped writing on the board, for who knew how long, and had skeptical eyes on them. "Are you two passing notes in the middle of my class?"

"Of course not," Hyunjin responded immediately, his hands under his desk as he ripped up the note Felix had passed to him. He knew how these scenarios usually played out, giving up your note to the teacher and they read it out loud for the whole world to hear. It wasn't something that he wanted to experience, so he always made sure to dispose of any notes before a teacher could do anything about it.

The teacher narrowed his eyes at them, walking towards them with the intent to take the evidence from their hands. Felix slid the remaining sticky notes they had already written on and Hyunjin tore them up as if he was a shredder, desperately trying to get rid of it. He let the ripped pieces fall to the floor, hoping that his feet covered up all the pieces. "Alright boys, hands up."

The two did as said, putting up their hands as if they were getting arrested. The teacher used a ruler and poked around at their belongings, trying to find any remnants of notes. Hyunjin made sure his hands were out in the open, that he wasn't carrying anything that might subject him to a punishment. Felix did the same as he didn't want to be in trouble either, knowing that his parents didn't want to deal with that.

The teacher gave the two a skeptical look before shrugging, moving back to the front of class after finding nothing. The two boys let out a deep sigh of relief, glad that the teacher didn't find anything. "Close call right?" Felix whispered to Hyunjin and great boy nodded his head in agreement, smiling at his friend. However for the rest of the class he found himself losing focus, unable to get rid of his bitter mind about his babysitter.

He kept trying to take notes, but stopped every time he got two words. Hyunjin bit the back of his pencil, forcing himself to write down something before giving up completely. By the end of class he only had half a page of terribly written notes, he couldn't really tell if he had written them himself. The boy stared down at them in disappointment, wanting to smash his head into the desk. "I'm so screwed."

Felix peered over his shoulder, looking at the notes the boy had written down. Even the Aussie cringed at what was there, and he usually didn't take very good notes either. "You know we have a test on this next week right?" He questioned him, only receiving a groan of frustration. His friend pat his back, trying to reassure him so that he wouldn't feel so bad. "Well... if you're desperate enough, just ask the class president for help. She gets the highest scores on tests and exams all the time."

"I can't do that!" Hyunjin hissed, lifting his head up to glance at the said girl. She was packing her belongings, the notebook she wrote everything in sliding neatly inside her backpack. It seemed like the simplest of things she did made him fascinated with her. "I can barely say hello to her, how can I ask her to tutor me?" Felix shrugged, not helping the boy out with this one.

Hyunjin sat up in his seat, his eyes darting towards the class president and his notes constantly. If he asked her for help, he'd definitely be able to pass the upcoming test. Yet his anxiousness and awkwardness around her would probably scare her off from him. He didn't know what to do. Felix rolled his eyes at the cautious boy before pushing him out of seat. "Go! Before the bell rings and the next class starts!"

He muttered a curse to Felix, stumbling over to the class president's desk. Hyunjin glanced behind him with a annoyed look while his friend gave him a thumbs up trying to give him some sort of encouragement. "Is there anything you need?" She spoke, catching him off guard. His eyes made their way towards his, making his breath hitch at the mere sight of her being this close to him.

"I.... uh..." He trailed off, getting close in the thought of her. Get it together Hyunjin! He was supposed to be asking her to tutor him, not getting dazed by his strange attachment to her. Yet words refused to form, leaving him utterly speechless and looking quite idiotic in front of her. She gave him an odd look as if she herself was trying to get him to say what he wanted. "You.... tutor.... me... test... please...?"

He wanted to punch himself in the stomach. He sounded so stupid, looked so stupid! Felix's idea was such a terrible one. Hyunjin should have never tried to speak to her in the first place. Now she was going to think he was weirder than he already seemed and tell her no—

"Sure." She responded, just as the bell for the next class began. Hyunjin blinked once or twice, a little confused on her reply. She said sure... she told him sure. "I'm assuming you want me to tutor you for the test coming up?" The class president spoke and he nodded his head vigorously in response, unable to speak at the moment. "I'll do it, it's not like I have anything else to do anyways."

Hyunjin felt a fuzzy feeling in his heart, not knowing if he wanted to scream or cry with joy. "Thanks." He was able to choke out, and she smiled at him. The class president, Yeeun, smiled at him. He turned around, feeling lightheaded as he stumbled back into his seat next to Felix. The boy looked at him expectantly as the teacher for the next class walked in. "Felix... I think my heart is going to explode soon."
