Why were things so awfully peaceful? Where was the chaos that came every few days in Hyunjin's life? He hadn't experienced anything crazy, anything worthy of talking about for awhile. It was just constant bonding with his step brother and goofing off with his friends. Sure, a few days ago he had suffered from aggressive allergies that had murdered his entire being as soon as he walked into Beomgyu's house yesterday. Sure, he had received a major scolding from his mom for hanging up on her the way he did.

But those things were nothing. They had quickly blown over as if they were just a simple speck of dust being brushed off. After that nothing really happen. The only interesting thing that was happening was that Hyunjin was sitting alone at lunch for once. He would have been fine with it if it was earlier into his high school years were he didn't really have any friends nor a sibling... but it was like that now. Everyone was busy with other things.

As a senior, Changbin was helping his class decide where their senior trip would be. He remembered the boy asking whether going to Busan or Jeju would be a better idea, wanting to prove to his classmates that Jeju Island would be fun. Hyunjin could easily visualize Jeongin's hand shooting up in the air, desperate for Changbin to visit Busan and tell him everything that they could do. He had never seen the step brother so passionate about something in his entire life.

Then there was Felix, who was struggling in his grades and had to stay behind to have in school tutoring by his teachers. Exams were coming up and every teacher that had the Australian in his class was scared he'd fail hard. It's like they all banded together to create a way to get the boy the best grade he could possibly get, wanting everyone to pass exams so they wouldn't have them again. Felix continuously tried to escape as he didn't care much for school, but each time he was caught and sent back to tutoring.

Seungmin had pulled Jeongin aside to do fun things with each other. He remembered watching his step brother race towards his friend in a rush, a gleaming smile on his face as he practically toppled the poor boy. When Hyunjin had saw them off, Seungmin gave him an awkward yet warm wave, trying to get more friendly with him. It seemed as the boy had tried to connect with him more now that he knew he was Jeongin's step brother. He appreciated the effort, honestly.

So with all those people out of the question he had no one to sit with. He sat in a chair inside the cafeteria, a single strawberry milk in hand as his eyes scanned the room for people he might now. He needed some type of social interaction, he lived off of socializing and friendship. The fact that none of the people he knew was able to hang out with him at lunch made him anxious and jittery for his next interaction.

That's when he heard his phone ding, the notification sounding loud and clear. He picked up the phone and scanned the screen with hungry eyes hoping it was at least Changbin or Felix saying they're coming to retrieve. Though when he heard the contact name of the person who had texted him, he practically froze in class, his heart being the only thing to move at all. It was the contact that he hadn't dared texting first, the class president's number.

He had remembered, she gave it to him so they could find a time to study together. However he never really had the courage to text her first, feeling butterflies in his stomach every time he even say her name on his phone. By the time the test they meant to study for came around, Hyunjin had guessed on every single question. He meant to apologize to her for waiting her time like that, but he never even had the courage to even do that.

Yet here he was now, phone in hand with the class president texting him of all people. His eyes took a quick look toward the message, not daring to open the whole thing yet as he didn't want her to know he had read the message. It said something along the lines that she was studying in the library, and wanting to know if he was okay with studying with her. He was practically sweating at this point, unsure of what he should do. Hyunjin finally had the chance to hang out with the person he had realized he liked, but he was too much a nervous wreck to do so.

"Hyunjin, you're all alone! That's odd." A voice spoke, sliding into a seat next to him. It startled him, making him almost drop his phone. His heartbeat racing faster than it should have, worry bubbling inside of him with a possible cracked phone screen. With how clumsy he could be at time when frightened, his phone could be completely destroy when it hit the floor. Hyunjin was lucky enough to have caught it before anything could happen.

He turned to see who had spoke to him and his heartbeat finally calmed down just a little bit. It was Doyeon and some other boy he didn't know, probably another senior. "Hi Doyeon and... guy." Hyunjin greeted, trying to be as polite as he could to the stranger in front him. The boy only gave him a small wave, an somewhat shy expression on his face despite being quite tall himself. That was saying something seeing as he was in the taller range.

She glanced towards the boy beside her and almost panicked. "Oh I forget you were with me, sorry Eunwoo." She apologized, giving him an awkward smile as she invited him to sit down with them. He obliged without question, shrugging his shoulders as he did so. "Oh, Hyunjin this is Eunwoo. You know he's the guy that models all the stuff that the school sells on their website." She explained, hitting the said boy's arm.

He winced, not expecting her to hit him. "You didn't have to tell him that." Eunwoo spoke, frowning as she rolled her eyes playfully at him. The boy seemed quiet on the outside, but as soon as he opened his mouth his words seemed more dramatic than they should have been. Like he was constantly on a movie set and needed to stand out as best as he could. He's probably in the drama club, being one of those theatre kids.

Hyunjin laughed at the two of them, wanting to talk to Eunwoo more before remembering he still hadn't replied to the class president's text yet. He stared at the unread message, still stuck on what he was supposed to respond with. He had people to hang out with now, but he also wanted to study with the class president. Yet at the same time he was probably going to be too awkward for it all.

He got sudden chills down his spine, like someone was breathing down his neck. He turned to see Eunwoo on one side and Doyeon on the other, looking at the text message that he was failing to respond to. "Is that the girl you like?" Eunwoo asked, causing Hyunjin turn bright pink upon mentioning it. The senior turned to Doyeon, a confused look on his face. "See I told you, you don't stand a chance. He likes someone else. Plus, he's a underclassmen. You'll be in college next year."

"I know." Doyeon responded, shoving the boy's face away from him. "It's already been established that that's the case. But I'm going to help him with his crush, since young love like that is really cute." She stated, defending herself from Eunwoo claims. Doyeon then slipped Hyunjin's phone out of his hands and unlocking it with ease. "Wow you should really put a password on your phone."

"What are you—" Hyunjin questioned, reaching for his phone. The girl only leaned back, beckoning Eunwoo to come over to her. He gave her a glare, still mad on the fact that she pushed him. However he still followed after her, staring at whatever she was doing on his phone. "Doyeon I respect you as a girl, my new friend, and my upperclassmen, but taking my phone is not apart of this friendship contract!"

"It's apart of mine and Changbin's acquaintanceship so I only assumed." She shrugged, placing Hyunjin's phone on the table. Doyeon crossed her arms as she began to speak again, glancing towards Eunwoo as she spoke. "So you got a text from the girl you like, she's inviting you to hang out with her... if you call studying hanging out... and you haven responded back?"

Hyunjin bit his lip, fiddling with his fingers as he spoke. "I mean... I would have said yes but I'm super awkward around her... like I can't form a single sentence that makes sense to have a good conversation. So what's the point in going?" He made up, trying to find a quick and easy way out of his current situation. He glanced towards both of the seniors in front of him, an sheepish smile unable to leave his face.

Both seniors stared at him, unconvinced by his response. "Alright lets go." Doyeon spoke, grabbing Hyunjin's phone and handing it to Eunwoo. Almost immediately the boy started typing a response for him, sending the junior into a panic. However Doyeon grabbed Hyunjin wrist pulling him along side them as they began walking out of the cafeteria. "So, you're going to go on that study date with her. You can't pass up this moment!" She explained, walking backwards so that she was facing him.

"I can't!" Hyunjin exclaimed, already feeling himself melt into a puddle of embarrassment. "I mean... it's been a few minutes since she sent that text.... maybe she's gone by now! Or she's too far in her studies to want anyone else to intervene. Or maybe she got someone else to study with her!" He made up, desperately trying to get them to give up.

Doyeon didn't respond, Eunwoo did. "It's too late, I've already sent a text saying that you're down with studying. She responded saying she'll wait for you at the library which is down the hallway we are taking." He informed him, handing Hyunjin back his phone. Doyeon reached out her hand to her fellow senior and he handed her a water bottle that he seemingly picked up on the way out.

She poured the liquid on her hands and suddenly placed them in his hair, slicking back his hair with the water. "You've got a study date in literally like 10 seconds. Look how easy that was!" Doyeon told him, trying to fix him up while she still could. They stopped next to a group of female students asking them for a quick bottle of perfume. "While you're not in the best state for a date we can came the best out of this. You're already handsome as it goes."

Hyunjin didn't know whether he wanted to stop her or take the compliment first, but he was too slow. Before he knew it she had sprayed perfume at him, smelling of rosy flowers. He coughed after inhaling it, not expecting that much to be sprayed at him. "Doyeon, you used too much!" Eunwoo scolded, taking the perfume away from her. "He's going to be smelling like flowers for the rest of the week."

"That's fine," Doyeon shrugged as the student she got the perfume from took it back. "Flowers are an amazing smell anyways." The two nagged at each other for a few seconds while Hyunjin was trying to regain his existence in this world. Everything felt like it was going by too fast. He might be physically prepared to see his crush but not mentally. Hyunjin didn't think he'd ever be mentally prepared to hang out with the class president.

"Is that her?" Eunwoo asked, pointing towards the library doors. There she was walking out of the double and glancing around to see if she could spot anyone, spot him. He felt his heartbeat race, unable to contain the butterfly like feeling. He was so close, only a few steps away from being near her and actually hanging out with her. He'd be able to see all the little cute habits she had while studying, he would be able to admire her without feeling the need to look away.

"Is that Chan?" Doyeon spoke, narrowing her eyes as she looked with them. Hyunjin was snapped out of his daze upon the mention of a new name, looking up to the girl for an explanation. "He's a guy in my class, he's been gushing about his girlfriend for the past few months now." Hyunjin suddenly was hyper focused on the scene in front of him, examining the new stranger. There was a boy, bright curly brown hair, that came up behind the class president with a sneaky smile on his face. Without hesitation he scooped the class president like she weighted nothing, laughing as she suddenly scolded him for the scare.

The amount of adoration and love in this boy's eyes was overwhelming, Hyunjin could feel it from where he was standing. The boy's smile was so wide that a dimple had suddenly made an appearance, yet no matter how hard the class president was scolding him it never went away. In the end she stopped, only asking him to let her down.

"Wait, that's his girlfriend?" Doyeon asked, shocking herself with her statement. However she quickly covered up her mouth, realizing her mistake when Eunwoo gave her a small glare. Hyunjin felt his whole world turn upside down, his stomach killing all the butterflies that were once there. Girlfriend. That's what Doyeon said, girlfriend. His class president, who he had been pining after this entire time, was already taken.
