chapter seventeen.

The atmosphere between Ni-ki and Saeyoung has been quiet and awkward on their way to the girl's house. Saeyoung walked slowly, holding her phone and listening to music from her ear piece in the left ear while Ni-ki trailed the girl from behind staring at her the whole time.

Ni-ki let out a small breathe and gathered up his confidence. He planned on taking her home not just because he cares for her but he did it so that they could be able to talk things out and of course, make sure that Saeyoung made it back home safely. He went right beside her and tapped on the female's shoulder, "S-Saeyoung, what do you plan to be when you finally graduated?"

Saeyoung turned her head to Ni-ki. "Umm, probably a prosecutor." She straightly answered. She does have to admit that she still felt shy around the boy but she didn't really want to make it obvious. "How about you? What will you do after graduating?"

Ni-ki gave a side small side grin, looking down with two of his hands inside of his front pocket. "To be honest, I still haven't thought about it yet. I was thinking, maybe a Dance Instructor? But that probably doesn't really pay high enough to help my family back in Okayama, but who knows right?"

At the mention of his family, Saeyoung felt a bit sad for Ni-ki. He must be homesick. She was thinking on how hard it was for a boy at a young age was able to adapt a culture that he was unfamiliar of, without the guidance of his family. Ni-ki must have sacrificed a lot of things.

She slowly nodded at his answer. "I see. But if you do graduate, are you going back to Japan? Or are you going to pursue a career here in Korea?" the girl questioned out of the blue, because somehow Saeyoung wanted to know what was his future plans and she wanted to be there to cheer him on.

"I'd probably be going back to my hometown." Saeyoung wasn't really surprised at all by Ni-ki's reply, if she were in Ni-ki's shoes, she too would want to go back to her hometown and see her family. "But if a promising career is going to be open for me here in Seoul, then I might consider staying instead, and visit my family every once in awhile." he added.

"That's a good plan." she commented.

Again, silence took over. But at least now they weren't much awkward like they were a few minutes ago. Saeyoung doesn't know why but she felt talkative and she wanted to more about the japanese boy, she didn't really want to be seen as annoying but right now, she couldn't really help but ask and wonder. Hopefully he won't get mad at her. "Hey, did you ever think of creating you're very own dance studio or company in Japan? Or in Korea?"

Ni-ki chuckled at her question. He nodded at the girl, "Actually I did. But I'm not sure if I should make the first branch in Seoul or Okayama."

"You're really passionate when it comes to dance huh?"

The boy nodded. "Of course! Dancing means everything to me Saeyoung. And nobody can take that away from me."

Saeyoung looked down and smiled to herself. She hasn't met a boy who was this passionate about something and it made her fall more deeper. She feels so clueless on why, but Saeyoung has to admit that she finds Ni-ki attractive in this side, but she also can't deny that he's 10x more handsome when gets up on stage and perform. He's a monster when he dances.

The girl flashed Ni-ki and cheerful smile. "I'm no dancer but if you do open up a company or dance studio of you're own, then expect that someday in the near future, I'd bring my future kids there and let them learn on how to dance, so that they could be as great as the oh so famous, Nishimura Riki."

Ni-ki jokingly rolled his eyes at the female's words, which earned him a light slap in the shoulder by Saeyoung causing the two to laugh.

"You're kids or, ours?"

"Huh?"

"Hmm? Nothing."

Walking quietly, Ni-ki immediately noticed that Saeyoung came to a hold and started staring down at the ground with her eyes wide open, Ni-ki felt worried and at the same time curious so he approached her. "Saeyoung? Are you okay?"

Saeyoung took a few steps forward but her legs seemed wobbly and that she couldn't walk properly as well, causing her to fall but before she could meet the floor, Ni-ki's reflexes was fast enough to hold the girl's waste from behind, preventing her from falling.

"Shit! Saeyoung don't scare me like that." he said. Ni-ki slowly help her stand straight with his arm firmly holding her in her position. "Are you okay? Is anything wrong?"

Saeyoung shooked her head. "A few seconds ago my sight was blurry, my head ached and I felt dizzy. I don't know on how and why." she answered slowly with her right hand placed beside her head, looking down at the floor.

Ni-ki went in front of her and crouched down. Saeyoung was confused of his actions. "W-What a-are y-you doing?"

"Hop on." he replied. "I'll just give you a piggy back ride until I get you home."

Saeyoung blushed light pink from her cheeks. She couldn't believe what Nishimura Riki was offering and she felt disappointed for looking weak in front of him, she felt like a grandma or something. "T-Thank y-you but I think I can w-walk. Jus assist m-me." once again, Saeyoung took a few more steps forward going pass Ni-ki, wanting to prove to him that she can manage without a ride from his back. Taking 8 steps more Saeyoung could finally walk properly than before.

"Saeyoung!" Ni-ki called, again catching her before she could actually fall. Saeyoung quietly cursed at herself. "Let's not argue about this and just hop on my back." the boy crouched down again, Saeyoung didn't want to give him a hard time but she also doesn't want to have another fight with Ni-ki, so she did what he asked and hopped on.

Saeyoung grabbed the right ear piece of her ear phones and placed it on Ni-ki's right ear. "Thank you." she whispered.

"No problem."

"Ni-ki?"

"What is it, Saeyoung?"

"If I fall, would you catch me?" she repeated the same question she asked to herself when Soul came and gave her a snack. If Saeyoung has a chance to directly ask Soul about that question she wanted to know his answer but right now, Ni-ki's answer was the answer she wanted to hear the most.

Ni-ki quirked his lips to the side. "Why would you ask such a thing?"

Saeyoung shrugged. "I don't know, I just want to hear you're answer." she halfly lied. Saeyoung was eager to know his answer and she wanted to know on what he'll do when she really does fall for him.

"I'd save you before you can even fall."

Saeyoung felt puzzled at his answer. "How come?"

"Because, I don't want to see you getting hurt."

Seeing how straightforward he is, made Saeyoung smile warmly. She hid her face on Ni-ki's back because she didn't want him to see on how happy she looks, even though he couldn't really see her since she was being carried by Ni-ki on his back. Saeyoung doesn't know if being dizzy earlier helped her or not because if it didn't, Ni-ki would either tease her or he'd feel weirded out.

As for Ni-ki, he felt so clueless on why Saeyoung has brought out such a question. Right now, what's going on inside her head be a sometimes he finds her confusing especially when the girl becomes curious about certain topics.

"That's my house!" the girl pointed to simple white coloured house on the right.

Reaching the front doorstep, Ni-ki slowly and carefully let Saeyoung get down from his back. He had his hand out if any case Saeyoung would be placed out of balance again. The girl turned to Ni-ki with a grateful smile. "Thank you so much Ni-ki. I don't know how to repay you for this."

Ni-ki burst out a smile. "You know I've always thought you are that strong and confirm type but I never knew that you could be this soft and kind."

"Yeah, right." Saeyoung dramatically scoffed causing the two to laugh. For Ni-ki, he didn't really expect this side of Saeyoung but he can't deny that he likes it. "But Ni-ki, seriously! What do I have to do?"

"It's fine, you don't have to do anything."

Saeyoung pouted. Unexpectedly, she went down on her knees and held Ni-ki's hand with hers. "Please! At least let me do something! I'll feel guilty if I don't." she looked at the boy with puppy eyes, Saeyoung isn't used to acting cute and she really hates it but at least she's trying her best to do so.

"O-Okay fine, I'll think about it, yeah?"

The girl stood up and unexpectedly engulfed him in a hug. "Thank you! Thank you!"

Ni-ki stood there frozen still processing the sudden action she did. He was unprepared for it, and it made him shocked. From what he remembers, he hasn't met any girl who would unexpectedly hug or do some surprising actions like what Saeyoung did. He has to admit that she was quite different.

"I-I'll be going now." Ni-ki stuttered.

Saeyoung nodded. "Alright. Walk safely okay?"

Ni-ki watched as Saeyoung open and enters her house. As she was about to close the door, she gave him a quick wave before finally shutting it close.

"Roh Saeyoung, you're one of a kind."

After taking a warm bath, Saeyoung heard her phone ringing. It was already late in the night and she wondered on who was calling her by that time. She picked up her phone from her desk and saw that it was a mysterious caller.

Saeyoung was hesitating if she should pick it up or not, but curiosity got the best of her and she managed to answer the call of her caller.

"Hello? Who is this?"

"Finally found you little girl. How are you? Is you're grandma doing well?" Saeyoung's eyes widened, she was already panicking and wanted to call for help but her grandmother was already asleep and she didn't want to disturb her.

Not wanting to show that she's scared or anything she grabbed all the pride and confirm she has. "What the hell are you calling me late at this hour? Seriously, if you wanted to threaten me, you should've done it in the morning. It's not like the world is gonna end tomorrow!"

Suddenly the sound of laughter was found in the other line of the phone. Saeyoung felt confused, is this a prank call or something? "Hello? Sorry but who the fuck are you?"

"Saeyoung chill. Its me, Riki Nishimura."

"Ni-ki?"

"Yep!"

"Why are you up this late? And where did you get my number?" she questioned.

"Same thing goes to you? Why are you up late as well? And yeah, about that, I got it from Nina."

"Oh okay then. But what did you call me for?"

"About what you said earlier at the doorstep, you said you wanted to do some for me right?"

Saeyoung nodded. "Yeah, I remember that."

"Sing me to sleep."

"Excuse me?"

Saeyoung sat down on her bed and placed her phone on her lap. If that's what Ni-ki wants then she'll do it, he deserves it anyways. "If that's what you want, then sure. I'll sing."

From the other line of the phone, Ni-ki smiled and plopped down on his bed, fixing his pillow and finally laying down as he hears the girl singing him to sleep.

No limit in the sky that I won't fly for ya

No amount of tears in my eyes that I won't cry for ya

Oh no

With every breath that I take, I want you to share that air with me

There's no promise that I won't keep

I'll climb a mountain there's none too steep

Ni-ki closed his eyes as he listens to her voice. He was enjoying every second, wishing that she'd sing for him, forever like this.

They might be far from each other tonight but Ni-ki admits that even her voice sounded beautiful through the phone, in his eyes, Saeyoung was truly amazing.

When it comes to you

There's no crime

Let's take both of our souls, and intertwine

When it comes to you

Don be blind

Watch me speak from heart, when it comes to you

Comes to you

Saeyoung did her best to make it sound like she's singing a lullaby by singing in a soft yet warm voice, hoping it would help Ni-ki fall asleep.

And hopefully, she's doing Ni-ki's request right.

Cupid ain't a lie, arrow got you're name on it

Don't miss out on a love and regret yourself on it

Open up your mind, clear your head

Ain't gotta wake up to an empty bed

Share my life, it's yours to keep

Now that I give to you all of me

From the recent lines sung, Ni-ki had wish that he had the confidence to say the same words. If he were to confess, these words were the ones he was missing, but at least for the most of it.

When it comes to you

There's no crime

Let's take both of our souls, and intertwine

When it comes to you

Don't be blind

Watch me speak from my heart, when it comes to you

Comes to you

"Ni-ki?" Saeyoung called out from the other line, wanting to check if the boy is still awake.

She held her phone and placed it beside her ear, soon she heard the small snores of the boy. Saeyoung chuckled.

"Nishimura Riki, I think I like you too. . ." she whispered to her phone.
