A week before

Eliza and Bucky were walking side by side in New York, they were just talking about anything that came to their mind. Right now they're talking about what she's going to be doing in History class, for her World War 2 essay. She chose that she's going to be doing her dad.

"Guess what we're learning about in history?" Eliza asks her father as she has the world's biggest grin on her face.

"What's that baby?" Bucky asks his daughter, as she takes a sip from her soda that she had at the house.

She was about to respond to his amazing question but this happened....

"What?" "You don't gotta body me Yori." A voice spoke, making Eliza and Bucky look at each other.

"Mr. Nakajima." Bucky mutters and the two of them rush to see what happened, Eliza separates Yori from this young kid. He looked like he was probably in his early twenties.

"Hey, hey, Yori, what's going on?" Eliza asks the old man. "I thought we were having lunch?"

"Unique is putting his trash into my trash." Yori complains and Eliza tilts her head confused at the conversation.

"It's just trash." Eliza says making the old man give her a look, and she and Bucky make eye contact before they shrug their shoulders.

"And the time has come for me to smack." Yori says reaching his hand up but Bucky grabbed them.

"Hang on." Bucky says to him calmly. "It's just trash." Unique says jumping back into the conversation, much to Bucky and Eliza's dismay to say the least.

"Hey, man and girl. I'm Unique, it's like Monique but it's got a 'U' in there for uniqueness." He explains making Eliza give him a look when he says girl. She has a name he does not know.

"I have a name boy." Eliza says to the boy as he had a look of guilt and slight regret.

"Yeah it's Eliza, or Lizzie." Mr Nakijima says as Eliza turned her head at the man.

"Yeah not the second one. We talked about this." Eliza says to the man making him shrug his shoulders, he liked calling her Lizzie just to see her reaction and facial expression change.

"That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard." Yori says walking off with Eliza walking after him.

"Okay sorry." Bucky speaks walking back to the pair.

"You can't keep fighting with your neighbors." Eliza says to calm him down.

"Come on, let's get some food." Bucky says, smiling a little at him, hoping that he would give in.

"No, go away." Yori says tried to rush off.

"Hey, what if Dad buys?" Eliza asks, pointing to her father ignoring the glare that he was giving her at the moment.

"Fine but he can't talk, you can." Yori says turning around and Eliza smirks at her father. "She's my favorite."

"It's okay he doesn't talk anyway." Eliza says as her father thumps her head and she just grins at him.

"I do talk." Bucky reasons to his daughter and she pats his shoulder.

"I said no talking." Yori says to her father and he rolls his eyes at her and Eliza just grins like the Cheshire cat at her father.

The thunder rumbled as they sat in a crowded sushi place. Eliza sat in between Yori and her father. Bucky and Eliza were poking each other, it's something they do when they're bored.

"Take a look, nobody made it past 90 this week." Yori says pointing to the news article for the recent deaths.

"That's a shame." Eliza says, taking a sip out of her soda, as Bucky got to her tickle spot on her leg, and she kicked his foot a little hard, and Bucky made a noise.

"I said no talking." Yori scolds Bucky and Eliza tries to hide her smirk, but it doesn't work; she lets out a quiet giggle.

Leah is the bartender at the sushi place and she walked up to them refilling Eliza's soda. "You guys didn't get the usual, huh. Feeling a little adventurous." She asks as Eliza smiles at the woman.

Eliza noticed Yori staring really hard, like he was trying to remember something. "What's wrong?" Eliza asks the man, and he starts talking in Japanese.

"My son...he loves the red bean mochi." Yori says, making both Eliza and Bucky both stop eating, and they looked at each other with sad looks both written on their faces.

"He had a job with a consulting company, and uh, he was working abroad and he was killed. The police say the wrong place, wrong time, but....I will never know what really happened to him." Yori explains, as Bucky pushed his food a little as he stopped eating, then he abruptly got up and walked towards the door.

"I felt it was strange...in here." Yori says as he patted his chest, Eliza gave her father a sad look. She quickly said goodbye to the man before she grabbed her things and she rushed out.

When she got out she was trying to figure out where her father went. She walked around listening carefully for her father and hoping that he hadn't gone too far.

"Dad?" Eliza calls out as she looks in all of the alleys that her father could have possibly gone in. It's like he walked through a portal and disappeared.

She didn't know that her father was right behind her. "Hey." When she heard her Dad's voice she didn't really jump, she turned around and her father brought her into a hug.

"It's okay." Eliza says as Bucky rests his chin on top of Eliza's head, as she goes up to his chin. The two pull away from the hug as she stands on her tippy toes, and wipes her father's tears with her thumb as he smiles at her.

That night

For dinner Eliza wanted to half ass try something. Cooking. Bucky was the judge on that experiment, and outside of the somewhat burntness of dinner, it looked somewhat decent. Okay it passed the somewhat typical dinner choice standards from Bucky. He would have done a lot worse than Eliza, though. But on that side the only good thing that he can cook is scrambled eggs, even though they're still burnt. It's a little less glamorous than his daughter's cooking, though.

"How does yours look better than mine?" Bucky asks with a slight pout that only she has seen when it's just her and her father.

"Because I have experience and you don't, that's why." Eliza says teasingly to her father, as he takes a sip from his drink.

"Oh haha." Bucky mutters which makes Eliza snicker as she grabs silverware for her and her father.

"You know you love me." Eliza says to her father, which makes him shrug his shoulders, and her having a slightly offended look on her face.

"Eh sometimes that's detable." Bucky says grins with a small role of her eyes and him having a smile that she's missed for far too long to say the least. It reminds her of a time where she's seen her father more happier than now, mostly because that's was when Steve was a twig and not supersoldieriey. Also, when she was just under two years old was the most significant time where she recalls seeing her father happy and all smiley.

"Fine. You can starve." Eliza says as she goes to take away his food but he stops her before she could even lift the plate off of the counter.

"Who's hungry?!" Bucky exclaims as Eliza grabs her napkin and rolls it into a ball and tosses it at her father, and it actually lands about an inch from his plate. "Didn't know that dinner came with a napkin fight." Eliza just glares at her father as she's not afraid of grabbing a good handful of her spaghetti and chucking it at her father's face.

"You better be grateful that this is not up your face." Eliza seethes to her father and he holds both of his hands up in defense with a smirk on his face.

"Sorry, baby." Bucky says with his grin on his face, and Eliza shaking her head at her father, as she wants to eat her cold food.

"Great, now my food is cold." Eliza mumbles as she goes to the living room where the two are going to watch some cheesy movie, that neither of them are remotely interested in, but at least the title sounded a little promising, so that must be a good thing. Sort of.

Later

Once the two of them were done eating dinner and they wanted to literally not pay attention to the movie anymore. Eliza felt brave again, and make dessert, well somewhat attempting to do said baking.

"What are you doing?" Bucky asks his daughter as she grabs the ingredients, and grabs a cookbook that she might have stolen from her grandmother. In her defense she was going to give it back, but she sorta didn't have the chance, because her life went to shit.

So, now she has a 1930 something old cookbook that she has used like twice since then, the rest of the time is her being bored out of her mind and reading the book.

"I don't know but I want something to do in my life." Eliza says as Bucky as he kissed her head as she started cracking the eggs.

The brownies turned out to be somewhat decent, except for three inches that didn't burn. Nothing like eating three inches of brownies, when she made an entire pan.

"It's the thought that counts." Bucky says as Eliza grabbed a handful of flour and it collided with her father's face, as he didn't even see it coming. So when the flour collided with his face he jumped back, and looked down and there it was flour literally all over him and where he was standing.

Eliza has a smirk on her face, and sooner than later half of the flour is now on the ground, and there was a knock on their front door. Which somewhat means a couple of things, Sam; Nat (as Steve brought her back from the dead when he went to Vormir, and whatnot); Yelena and Adeline; Or Tallulah and Caleb.

But this day it was Sam, Tallulah and Caleb. When Bucky opened the door, and Sam saw what was covered all over Bucky, he tried to hold in his laughter at the sight of it. Bucky being covered almost head to toe in flour.

"JUST A MINUTE!!!" Eliza yells from the kitchen and it was expected that if Bucky was covered in flour, that Eliza is also most likely covered in flour also. Hey this time it beats better than Molasses, and literally being stuck to her father for two groughling days.

Eliza doesn't mind being close to her father but even that was definitely pushing her boundaries, and limits combined.

"Okay, you two should be banned from being in the kitchen together." Sam says as he walks in with Tallulah and Caleb in tow, as Bucky couldn't help but agree with the Falcon. That's literally like the only thing that they could actually agree on.

"Yeah, especially with flour." Caleb butts in as Bucky gives the teenage boy a look, and before he could say anything the words came out of his mouth.

"Why are you even here?" The voice of Eliza who is still in her flour covered outfit, as she was 'trying' to clean the kitchen, to make it at least not look like flour exploded.

"Hey look, it's the Flour Queen!" Tallulah calls as Eliza gives her best friend a look as the girl was trying not to laugh at seeing Eliza covered in flour but not as bad as Bucky.

"Why did you make it look like flour exploded in the kitchen?" Sam asks the girl and all she did was point to her father, as Sam looks at Bucky who is giving his daughter a 'tattletale' look.

"You know you love me." Eliza says walking upstairs to change out of her flour covered clothing. Bucky takes off his leather jacket that is littered with flour at least in the front and a little bit of the back.

"She started it." Bucky says blaming Eliza for the events leading up to the flour throwing. He told Sam what his amazing daughter had done when in all reality it was his fault but he didn't want to admit that it was his.

"I did not." Eliza shouts as she's back downstairs with her hair in a braid, and in a leather black and white outfit with a white and black pair of boots.

"Where are you going?" Sam asks the girl and she shrugs her shoulders with a small smirk tugging at her lips.

"Can't a girl freshen up, or not." Eliza says to the man, and he shakes his head at her.

"We came by to say high." Caleb says, chiming into the conversation, and Eliza smiles fakely at him.

"Well thank you for stopping by." Eliza says as Caleb and Sam give her a look as Tallulah vanished somewhere in the house, but no one even seemed to notice her disappearance.

"Wait, where's Lula?" Sam asks as she just found out about Tallulah vanishing and then within seconds the brunette comes in with a fork, and it makes Bucky and Eliza look at her confusedly.

"Nice brownies." Tallulah says and before she could even do anything, it is being snatched from her with the heaviest and meanest glare she has probably ever seen in her entire life.

"Don't. Touch. My. brownies." Eliza seethes dangerously to Tallulah which makes the girl take a couple of steps back away from the girl who might murder her for eating her brownies.

"It's just brownies, no need to go all dangerously on her." Caleb says which makes Eliza turn to him with the same glare on her face he gulps a little feeling just a tinge of scared written on his face.

"Let's go before the Flour Queen murders you two." Sam says urgently rushing out the door with Tallulah and Caleb in tow which leaves the father and daughter being alone again.

"I would wanna say murder...." Eliza says shrugging her shoulders as she comes downstairs for the second time but this time a shirt for her father and a sweatshirt, and she tosses the two of them at him.

Bucky does his shirt changing trick that Eliza taught him a couple months ago and within seconds he successfully changes without leaving the room.

"Love you Liza!!" Tallulah shouts as she and the rest of her little family get into the car and it drives off.

Eliza finishes the brownies that were left if Tallulah had eaten it, and she doesn't even share it with her father, as in her opinion he doesn't deserve it.

Bucky went to be sneaky but Eliza ducked in time with a mischievous smirk on her face, knowing that she just beated her father.

"I just want one of them." Bucky says with a tiny pout knowing that Eliza gives in, but this time she's going to out smart him, by not falling for the look. There's very few occasions where she doesn't fall for it, and Bucky is practically begging her, until she gives in.

"Uh, nope, you being cute isn't going to happen, pop." Eliza says as she finishes the brownie, making her father's pout grow a little more. "Nah. Nah."

Bucky muttered a couple words under his breath and to make him shut up, Eliza grabbed the last chunk of the brownie and shoved it in his mouth, just to make him shut up.

"Reawlly." Bucky says muffled as he swallows the brownie that just got shoved down his throat, and Eliza having a mischievous grin on her face, as she walks away, leaving the father to himself.

"Did you ever teach me not to eat with my mouth full of food?" Eliza says as she fixes her braid, and next thing she notices she felt her father's arms around her stomach which makes her yelp.

"Nice try, little miss." Bucky says trying to sound threateningly to his daughter but she just laughs which makes him confused as to why she's laughing at him.

"What's so funny?" Bucky asks with an amused grin on his face, as he presses a tender kiss on the top of her head.

"You are trying to sound like I'm going to kill you." Eliza says mocking him and that makes her laugh even more. Bucky tickles her which makes her laugh more until she's gripping her chest as she's trying to calm down.

"Oh no it's the tickle monster." Bucky says in his 'scary' voice but it doesn't work as that too makes Eliza laugh more at her father, her face is slowly turning red due to her laughing so much.

Bucky made the mistake of putting her down, and the next thing that he knew was that she was taking off, running away from him. Bucky followed her on her tail trying to catch her but it's no use. After a couple seconds he slowed down and just watched her running, feeling free.

No longer being in pain because of her nightmares (which she has been having), no more suffering, just being free from all of that. Eventually she did stop, once she was out of breath, she then took a shortcut back to where her father was as he was just about to call her.

"Boo." Eliza says making Bucky jump so high in the air, of hearing her. He turns around and gives his daughter a look which makes her smile.
