Edmund watched the witch leave his cell with a triumphant grin. He was absolutely terrified for Mr. Tumnus.
What would the witch do with him?

By now, Edmund wasn't able to feel the cold anymore.
He was...numb.

What had the faun said?
He had the same nose as Lucy.
But that was probably the only thing he had in common with her, well, excluding their last name, siblings and parents.

Lucy was more faithful, more loving, braver, smarter and...hopefully safer.

What had he done?
If he would ever get out of here, his siblings would never forgive him, never.

Edmund was drowning in his thoughts, and he knew that no one would come to save him and drag him to the save surface.

No one.

But maybe, if he had saved Mr. Tumnus, it would've even been that worth.
Because he had been the far away surface for Mr. Tumnus and he had seen him drown, but he hadn't saved him.
And now Edmund was drowning himself.

The dwarf came down.

Oh no.

"C'mon!", he said, with a dangerous glim in his eyes. Edmund got up trembling.
What would happen?

The dwarf led him up, the dagger in his back.

When Edmund walked into the yard he saw a statue that hadn't been here before.

Edmund's face fell.

It was a faun with a scarf, the face looked like it had been screaming.
It was Mr. Tumnus.

Edmund hadn't pulled him up to the surface and now the faun had drowned and frozen in the bitter cold sea.
