Lucy loved to explore Cair Paravel. There were so many corners, so many hallways, so many rooms, so many secrets.
They hadn't been there long, only a few days, but Lucy loved it. She reached a window from where you could see the beach. She stopped and looked outside.
The water glistened in the sun, and the sand looked golden.
A black figure stood there. Maybe it was just black because the sand and the sun were so golden.
Lucy looked at the figure for a while and realised that it was Peter.
She smiled.
Why was he alone down there?
She hurried down the next stairs and just hoped to find a way down.

Peter looked over the endless water.
If it was warm?
"Peter!", Lucy called. Peter turned around. His younger sister came running towards him.
"What are you doing here alone?", she asked, stopped running, and looked up to him.
"I guess just thinking", Peter answered smiling.
Lucy smiled and sat down in the sand.
"And why do you need to stand for that? Thinking alone is exhausting enough!"
Peter chuckled.
"You're probably right", he said and sat down next to her.
They continued to stare over the sea to the horizon.
" Do you reckon the sea in Narnia is warm?", Peter suddenly asked.
Lucy looked at him.
"Want to find out?"
Peter grinned, as he watched his sister running now towards the water before running after her.
"Wait for me!", he called.
Lucy laughed and splashed into the water.
The water wasn't warm, but it wasn't cold either.
While Peter still wondered about this, Lucy jumped from backward upon him and they both fell into the water.
"Well, I suppose this is our beach now", Peter said laughing while he tried to get up, although Lucy kept pulling him down.
"Yes, it is", Lucy laughed and finally managed to pull Peter back to her.

Lucy looked around.
Where were they?
The water was blue and the sand seemed golden.
Was it their beach?
No, that wasn't possible, Cair Paravel wasn't here.
But the longer she looked around, the longer she thought, the surer she became that this was their beach.
And when Edmund saw the ruins, Lucy couldn't explain, why, but she knew it.
She knew that they were home.
But she didn't want to believe it.
She hoped that this wasn't their beach, that the ruins weren't their Chair Paravel, their home.
But it was.
