Fiftieth Prompt: Let's go fly a kite

Edmund stumbled away from the window and a loud noise came from outside.

"Dad!", he called. His father came running in, first really worried, then quite relieved.
"Why is outside making noise?", Edmund asked.

Mr. Pevensie laughed. "That's the wind, Edmund!", he said.
"But why is it making noise?", Edmund asked.

Mr. Pevensie thought for a moment.

"Well, imagine it like this: The wind is blowing really fast now, and when you run really fast, you make noise too, right?"

Edmund nodded slowly.

"Daad!", two voices called and in the next moment Susan and Peter came running in, while Peter was trying to be faster than his sister, but didn't succeed.

"What is it?", Mr. Pevensie asked.

"Can we go fly a kite?", Susan asked with a bright smile on her face, so you could see her  tooth gap.

Mr. Pevensie's face lit up.
"Can I come with you?", he asked excited.

Susan and Peter laughed, grabbed each others hands and danced around while chanting:"Let's go fly a kite, let's go fly a kite!"

Mr. Pevensie laughed too, until someone touched his arm.
He looked down to see Edmund.

"What is a "flying a kite"?", he asked quietly.

"How about you come with us, so we can show you?", Peter grinned, who had heard it.

"Yes, please!", Edmund said.

"The last one at the door is a rotten egg!", Mr. Pevensie called and started to run, but his children somehow were faster than him and he was the last one at the door.

"Where are you going?", Mrs. Pevensie asked startled, walking by with Lucy who looked curiously at her siblings.

"We're going to fly a kite!", Peter and Susan and Edmund exclaimed, although Edmund still had no idea how that would work and what it was.

"Wait for us! We're joining you!", Mrs. Pevensie said smiling and the two oldest began to cheer.
Edmund turned around when he heard the noise again.

"It's just the wind that's running fast", he mumbled, because although he would never admit it, he was a little scared of the noise.

"Just the wind."
