Caspian hated darkness.
When it was dark he couldn't see where he was going and what would wait for him there.
He couldn't see if he was going alone or with someone.
He couldn't see how far the end was.
He couldn't see.
And his light had been his wife, his star, his everything.
She had made everything clearer, brighter, happier.
And Caspian finally could see.
But she was gone and the darkness that came after her was worse than the darkness before because Caspian knew that there could be light.
He tried to focus on his son but he disappeared too.
Caspian's life was darkness.
He tried to rule his kingdom.
He tried to live on.
He tried to find his son.
And after ten years he wanted to search for Aslan, for the only light he could imagine that was left in this world.
He left his kingdom and sailed the open seas just like many years before, but he didn't find Aslan.
He came back and his time had come.
But before Caspian died, his world got lit up one last time.
His son was there.
His son, his light, his star, his heir, his memory of his wife.
And Caspian died with a smile.
