After a long, rainy evening, the time is finally there. The match making is about to happen. This is an important, and above all, special moment. It is when the first paths towards love are paved.
For the first match making, there will only be hetero couples (because otherwise it would've been too difficult for us to make couples).

During this session the men can choose their partner. The men line up and choose in order. The more eligible a man, the more women step forward. If no one steps forward you can take a seat on 'the bench'. This way every man will have a turn to choose. When a woman who is already in a couple is interested in another man she can still step forward, even after being chosen. If that person gets chosen, then the former man will take a seat on 'the bench' as well.
Once every man has had a chance to choose, the selection repeats. This time with the remaining men and women, until there is no one left.

For the first couple of the show, Ethan surprises everyone. Between all the nice ladies he picks someone he hasn't even talked to yet. Maybe love at first sight is a thing after all. Or is it in the roots, because these two can definitely relate on living the tropic life.

Another big surprise happened when Jett refused to step forward when it was Rhys his turn to choose between the girls who were interested in this fun, music lover. He chose for a girl he hadn't talked to, because she was canva-painting the scenery somewhere far away from the fun. Rhys his fun was definitely looking at Cosmos. Would the results of this couple have been different if he could also have chosen mister flirty?

At first we thought Mary would have a hard time here at the show. Too scared to even touch a guys hand. That way she will never find a love. But it turns out it was personal. Minutes later Mary was perfectly fine with holding the hand of her prince Charming. You could immediately see that love was in the air, the love-birds only had eye for each other. No one was surprised when they chose each other.

Where other people sometimes need to have some time to get to know one another, Amélie surely was interested in Julian. We could all see that, with the amount of questions, listening and talking the two aimed at each other. Is this a 'love at first sight'? Or are we witnessing a slow-burn that we are desperately needing this season?

Expectations were high. Dalton had told Avery that he would pick her if he got the chance. But lets not forget that he had had a nice time with Juli as well. But Dalton stayed true to his word and chose Avery. But how much honesty are in the words of a drunk lady? Or does Dalton just like drunk people, because he knows they give less resistance?

Next up is a man who is going through the same heartbreak. Vincent would have wanted to pick Valencia but life's not a fairytale. Will two broken hearts become whole again? Or will their love story end with one daggered heart and poison running through the other's veins?

After a big backstab Tate had to find another match to stay in the show. Poor Alexander didn't get a lot of attention from the ladies. Maybe that is the reason that Tate stepped forward when it was Alexander his turn. Maybe the tough girl's heart couldn't handle another rejection.

If one person couldn't have had enough rejections on one day. Poor Jett, but also you'll get picked eventually. Camilo is your saving grace. We're not sure what attracted these two towards against each other, but we're desperate to see if Camilo can fix a broken girl her broken heart.

And we're back to a couple that everyone could have expected. River and Rylee. These two had talked for hours. About their home, holidays, hobbies. River even showed a little skin to impress Rylee. And we all know that she paid more attention to the muscles then the tattoos honey. But even perfection had almost its twist, when River started talking with Juli. Yet he stayed with Rylee as favorite... for now.

Ares and Freyja almost seemed to hit it off in an instant, finding meaningful conversation with one another. Up until someone pointed towards Ares with a flirty compliment. Was that jealousy we saw, Freyja? It has to be, it seems, since they haven't talked to someone else the whole time!
