LaRusso residence !!

"WHAT DO YOU THINK HIS GRANDMA IS LIKE?" Eliana nudged her brother, careful not to mess up anything on his suit.

"Can't imagine her being like sensei just... older, and a woman." His sister scoffed.

"How do you live with such a creative mind."

Carmen shushed her kids before ringing the doorbell. They were greeted by Amanda and Daniel. They all said hi and hugged, surprisingly not at all awkward. Noticeably, no Anthony.

Eliana knew he was grounded because of the fight, he was supposed to not have any electronics but he was able to sneak a tablet into his room so they could still talk.

Eliana briefly looked behind her to see Daniel and Johnny stare avoid eye contact. They better not ruin this, I swear.

"Okay, here she comes." Amanda announced while Sam walked down the staircase in a knee length pink prom dress with little bows on the straps. Her hair was curled nicely and she held a small flower in a box.

She twirled on her black heels and smiled. "Wow, you, uh, look so amazing."

"So do you." The couple laughed and put on each other's accessories.

Eliana watched them, they looked so excited for the night. She couldn't wait for her prom. Her perfect prom with her date and her gorgeous dress. Maybe a limo, although that was reaching.

Vanessa, Louie's sister, loudlh gathered everyone with a camera in hand. "Alright, picture time. Let's go."

"Te ves tan guapo."(You look so handsome.) Carmen fixed Miguel's bow as she complimented him.

His grandmother tapped Carmen on the shoulder, whispering into her ear."Se parece cada vez más a su padre."(He looks more and more like his father.) Both Miguel and Eliana heard it, Miguel's smile dropping and Eliana's eyebrow furrowing.

They took the picture, smiling their widest, meanwhile Eliana thought about Miguel's dad. She never met him, obviously, and no one ever told her anything about him. Sometimes she'd wonder about how different things would be if he stayed with her family.

After the camera clicked, Carmen called for Johnny to join them. He stood beside Eliana and held up a fist. His usual pose for pictures.

"Beautiful. Let's get the LaRussos together." Vanessa waved for them to pose and yelled, "Anthony!"

"Uh, actually, no. He doesn't need to come down." Vanessa gave Amanda a confused look, even as Anthony came down the stairs.

"Thought I was supposed to stay in my room for the rest of my life."

"Who told you to stay in your room?" He walked to stand next to his grandmother, watching as she pryed Daniel. "He's grounded? What happened?"

"Ma, we'll talk about it later, okay?"

Vanessa took their picture and had everyone pose together. "One big happy family."

The picture was taken, even Louie was allowed in, and Eliana discreetly asked for a copy of it. After, a LaRusso dinner had been planned so the Diaz' were going to leave. Eliana asked about staying but Carmen shut it down quickly. So instead, she suggested Juno.

Elswith residence !!

They knocked on the door, almost immediately being greeted by an excited Juno. The girls smiled and hugged each other and Eliana was quickly pulled into the house.

"What happened at Anthony's, I thought you having dinner." They walked to her bedroom as they talked.

"Nah, it was just a family dinner. We just went to take pictures, I guess."

"How's Anthony?"

"Uh, he's grounded. He was forced to his room almost as soon as the pictures were done." Her phone chimed and she checked it, the random number her and Anthony had been chatting on.

Juno caught a glimpse of the number. "I hate when I get texts from random numbers." She saw Eliana smiling at the message and nudged her, "You don't have someone's number saved?"

"No, it's, uh... It's Anthony. He found a tablet and snuck it into his room, he's been texting me on it." She quickly sent a message back and turned off her phone.

Juno cleared her throat and opened the door to her room. It was like a pink bow had thrown up all over it. The walls were a soft pink color, there were posters and all kinds of wall decals on them.

She turned her head a few times to look at the other walls, one was mostly filled with vinyl covers. Some were familiar, some looked interesting and some Eliana didn't recognize at all.

"Your room's really nice." She stood in front of a vanity, moving the small mirror on it to reflect her.

"Thanks, it took a fucking forever for it to... y'know."

"Well, it definitely worked out." Juno lead the friend to her bed, they sat on the thick, soft sheets. Eliana received another message from Anthony and she hesitantly opened it, giggling at whatever joke he made and typing a response.

Juno noticed her expression, she always smiled at even the mention of Anthony's name. At first, she just told herself it was because they were best friends and they'd known each other that long. She'd only been friends with Eliana for a few weeks now, she was hopeful for their friendship.

Eliana finished the response and sent it, turning off her phone and putting it down after. "So, what should we do?"

"I'm... not sure., actually."

And they sat in silence. Neither had actually thought this far ahead.

Hours later, Juno was getting tired and Eliana didn't have any extra clothes. She checked Miguel's location, saw that he was on the road and asked for a ride home.

He quickly said okay and pulled up to the house. Eliana said goodbye to Juno, they hugged for a bit longer than normally and she ran to the vehicle.

Eliana closed the door to the car after stepping into the back seat. She had a full face of makeup, and her hair had two tiny side ponytails.

Miguel turned to say hi, doing a double take and staring at her appearance. She felt his eyes burn into her skull.

"What?"

"Why do you look like that?"

"Juno did my makeup."

The apartments !!

After dropping off Sam at her home, the siblings drove back to the apartment complex. Miguel parked his borrowed car and they both got out. Eliana was about to ask her brother something when she noticed he was walksing to Johnny's door instead of their own.

"What are you doing?"

"Just gonna go see sensei.."

She paused for a moment, "I'm coming," With a smile on her face, she followed her brother.

"I was kinda gonna.." She was looking right at him, showing her teeth. What could she possibly be so happy about?

Finally, a reason to see Johnny outside of practice or family dinner.

Miguel sighed and shook of her presence, knocking on the door. "Sensei, you got a second to talk? I've been having a... real rough night."

Eliana immediately understood his hesitation and tugged his sleeve. He turned to look at her and she whispered, "I'll just say hi and leave so you can talk."

He smiled weakly and thanked her before waiting a bit longer than opening the door. He opened it just enough to squeeze himself through the door, finding a smashed Johnny.

"Oh shit." Eliana tried to look in to see what happened. "Not again?" Again? What happened?

Miguel called for Johnny, and she heard him tell Miguel to enter the house. He tried to tell Eliana to leave but she pushed through the door.

"Hey, Ellie." Johnny sounded tired and, of course, stupid drunk. Her eyes widened at the state of his home and him. Laying on the floor, his eyes looked to be puffy and red.

"What happened? Why'd you drink so much?" Miguel reached for Johnny's hand to pull him up while Eliana picked up his can of beer and tried to clean up what she could.

"Old man can kick."

"I don't know what that means. Let's get you up, come on." Miguel struggled to keep Johnny up, the heavy man almost completely weighed him down. And no matter how much Eliana tried to help, she didn't contribute too much.

Johnny started to sing a random 80's song while they walked him to his bedroom. It was a bit amusing to Eliana but she was able to keep herself from laughing.

They threw him onto his bed and made sure he was laying down comfortably. Miguel took off his left shoe, Eliana his right.

Johnny somehow found another can of beer and tried to take a sip, until Miguel stopped him and beer was spilled on both of them.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's fine, I was already wet."

"Me too. From pee." Johnny laughed.

Eliana laughed quietly with him, mumbling under her breath, "Gross."

"Okay, you're good here. I'm gonna head to bed. We can talk in the morning." Eliana was ready to leave with her brother when Johnny grabbed his hand to stop them.

"Wait, wait, listen, listen," He sighed, looking to Miguel. "I want... I wanna be a father to you. I really do. I try to protect you, I... I try to be there for you, I just suck at it. I really suck at it. But I want to so bad."

Miguel teared up while smiling, and Eliana wished he would say the same to her.

Miguel chuckled. "You're doing just fine." He paused for a moment, shrugging after deciding to say what he'd been thinking. "I love you."

Johnny started to cry, turning away from the teens. "I love you too, Robby." He rolled onto his side, almost sticking his face in his pillow.

Miguel's smile dropped and he took shallow breaths. Looking to Eliana briefly, she just stared at Johnny, completely still.

He walked out, ignoring whatever he heard from behind him. Not even turning back once to see if Eliana followed.

She didn't. Unsure of what the reason was, she stayed behind. She took a step back, tripping on whatever what was on the floor. Johnny heard it and lifted his head to see Eliana's face full of fear.

"E... W.. oh, we never named you. Oh. Sorry about that. I'm glad you're here though." Eliana's eyebrows furrowed and she tilted her head.

Johnny smiled, "You look so much like your mom. Ugh, but she was a handful. A narcissist who would've probably named you after her. Fucking Eliana."

It didn't hit her too hard, she didn't want to jump to conclusions. Maybe he was cursing her, maybe he was thinking of someone completely different.

She honestly wasn't even sure if she wanted to know the truth.
