Middle school library !!

THE LIBRARY WAS A NICE PLACE, one of Eliana's favorite places in the school. She could read there, she could study there or even do her homework peacefully.

Until Kenny joined Cobra Kai. Ever since then, she's been trying to figure out why he wasn't speaking to her. And her new friend, Juno, just advised her to forget about him.

The three of them sat together on one of the bigger tables in the library. Kenny was doing homework, Eliana had a headphone in waiting for Kenny to ask for help or something and Juno was just tagging along.

The table had been quiet for so long, Juno ate cherries and occasionally offered one to Eliana while the brunette waited and waited. Every now and then, looking to Anthony who was with his friends not too far.

Lia Cabrera walked past the table Anthony was seated at and dropped her book. Anthony was quick to pick it up for her and they started chatting.

They seemed to be pretty friendly, but something about it wasn't a nice sight for Eliana. Obviously, she knew guys and girls could be platonic but just the sight of Anthony talking to another pretty girl was unpleasant to her eyes.

The conversation ended and she walked up to their table, "Hey, strawberry ghost. Feel pretty real today."

"Yep." Kenny smiled and looked up at her, mesmerized.

Eliana narrowed her eyes at her friend. Is this motherfucker really just ignoring me?

"What homework is this?"

"Math."

"Oh, wow. And you're almost done? I was struggling so bad with that one."

They laughed together while Juno and Eliana watched, annoyed. Eliana could feel someone's eyes on her and she looked to Anthony, who smiled and waved, to which she waved back.

Then, he turned away but she still felt eyes on her. She turned to Juno, who was looking around the library and she couldn't see anyone else looking even in her direction.

"Can I get another?" She pointed to Juno's container of cherries. She didn't usually care for them, but Juno added something to them that made them taste a lot better.

"Sure." Eliana grabbed a cherry by the stem and quickly ate it, chewing slowly to savor the flavor and it was absolutely delicious. She smiled to Juno and her friend smiled back, her gaze lingering on Eliana's eyes.

Hallway !!

Juno was at her locker, putting away some books she didn't need and didn't feel like carrying. It was a passing period and she had a while until her next class and planned on maybe finding a vending machine.

She closed her locker and was about to walk away when she saw Anthony LaRusso and his friends walk out the boys locker room with a few pieces of clothing.

Then Kenny yelled for them and ran out the room in his underwear. She flinched in embarrassment while everyone else laughed, and Kenny's face was filled with fear and sadness.

He ran back into the locker room and shut the door and the group of boys laughed and laughed, some louder than others.

She fixed her backpacks strap onto her shoulder and walked up to the boys, "What the fuck was that for?"

Zack turned to her, still laughing. "It's funny."

"That's not an answer."

"It's the answer you're getting." He laughed with his friends. Anthony's looked forced and uncomfortable.

She nodded her head and rolled her eyes as she turned to walk away. She was not about to deal with their bullshit and she needed to tell Eliana about this.

Diaz living room !!

Miguel and Eliana stretched their muscles in front of the TV. They figured that even though they spend a lot of their time at the same dojo, they still needed some time between just them.

Carmen walked into the kitchen, watching them as they sighed due to all the stretching. "Miggy, you've been at it since 6 a.m. That's a lot of stretching."

Eliana turned to Miguel, "You've been up since 6? Dude."

"Tournament's in a month. Sensei's gonna be kicking our asses all week." He kept stretching but Eliana stopped when she saw Carmen pull out the orange juice.

Carmen's eyes narrowed at her son. "And you like that?"

"Yeah. I do."

"Very convincing, Miggy." Eliana laughed quietly and thanked Carmen when she poured her a cup of the orange juice.

There was a knock at the door and Carmen stopped Eliana before she could go to open it.

"Hey, Johnny."

"Hey."

"Your students are ready for some intense training." She walked back to the kitchen, eyeing Eliana as she chugged the cup of citrus juice.

"Oh, are they? Alright we'll see about that."

Miguel looked through his bag to make sure everything was there, leaving to grab his mom's car keys because he left his water bottle in her car.

Carmen walked up to Johnny while smiling and he sighed. "I think we should tell him tonight." He made sure to whisper so Miguel wouldn't hear.

"Yeah. Okay." Carmen smiled widely and then relaxed her posture, "You're sure you're not gonna back out this time?"

Eliana snorted and Johnny glanced at her. "I just wanted to make sure we did it the right way."

Eliana shrugged, "Didn't do anything special for me and I'm doing great." The adults looked at her for a moment before turning back to each other.

"We'll take him to dinner. What's his favorite restaurant?"

"Uh, he likes Applebee's."

Overrated as hell. Elian rolled her eyes and made sure she had everything in her bag.

"Ah, that's not gonna work. I had a little incident there once." Suddenly, Eliana's interest piqued.

"What happened?"

Johnny sighed, "Alright, y'know how they make those loaded potato soup? It's like—"

Then Miguel called for Johnny and everyone turned to him. He held up a black belt and his eyebrows furrowed. "I think this is yours."

Eliana mimicked Miguel's face and the adults looked guilty about it. He wasn't mad, right? Hopefully. He looked calm.

They sat him down in the living room and tried to explain it, but he was totally fine with it. They really had nothing to worry about. And Eliana just felt so awkward watching them scramble for the right words.

Went as smooth as it could go and now it was time for training. During their car ride, Eliana got a bit bored and started to wonder about Anthony. And then she remembered the two were friends, and she could text him whenever she wanted to.

He never read the message but she figured he was busy with his dad, so she didn't mind too much. She was just content with her and the boy's current position.

Eagle Fang dojo !!

"Listen up, nerds. Today's gonna be a world of pain." Johnny walked to the front at the sound of the door opening, another girl was joining the team. Presumably the debate girl mentioned before. "Now everyone fall in."

The teens lined up to see Johnny standing next to the new new girl. "We have a new member joining us today. This is Devon Lee, maybe our next female champion."

"Hi. My pronouns are she/her." She waved lazily and smiled.

Johnny's head whipped in her direction and he almost looked offended. "The only pronouns we accept in this dojo are sensei and student."

Devon scoffed, "Those are nouns."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I think what I meant to say is QUIET!" Devon flinched at the sudden loud voice and was almost as surprised at how calm everyone else was.

In reality, they're all still scared of his yelling, he just did it so much they'd gotten used to it.

"That's an imperative."

"Get in line."

She stood next to Juno with her eyes stuck wide.

"Today's lesson is about cheating." Eliana's eyes narrowed. "At Eagle Fang Karate, we don't believe in fighting dirty. Cobra Kai doesn't follow the same rules. So we have to be ready for any dirty trick they throw at us."

"Like when Chong Li threw dirt into Van Damme's eyes in Bloodsport." Devon nodded her head and smiled slightly.

Johnny smiled, "Exactly. Looks like someone did their prep work."

"And I saw the sequels too. Not to mention Delta Force, Billy Jack, The Octagon, and Lady Dragon. Cynthia Rothrock is a beast." The list made Juno chuckle. She knew Devon would be a close friend.

Johnny laughed in glee, "Hell yeah, she is."

Penis Breath leaned forward, "I saw Last Dragon."

"Shut the hell up, Penis Breath!" He looked down to the floor as Johnny continued pacing. "Alright, everyone, get ready. I'm gonna put you through the wringer."

Miguel nodded his head and then Johnny pointed to him. "Except for you, Diaz. Up here with me."

"What?"

"Tournaments right around the corner. Can't afford you getting hurt. Sorry, this can just get a little dangerous. You'll be co-sensei with me today. Sound good?"

Eliana held up her hand in protest. "Sensei, don't you think he should train to build resistance to pain for the tournament?"

"No, Ellie. It's cool." Miguel's expression was down. It was obvious he didn't want it to be a big deal.

The training was a. He painful to watch. Penis breath had sand thrown in his eyes, all the girls had to kick the guys in the groin, and Juno and Eliana had to spar. Eliana won quickly, leaving Juno with a bleeding nose.

"Are you alright? Sorry, I got a bit carried away." She pulled up Juno and got some tissues for her out of her bag.

Juno took the tissues and held them to her nose, "Yeah, don't worry."

The boys were sitting down, icing their crotches while Miguel stood in front of them. He hadn't done anything all day.

"Good job today. Everyone ice up, we're back at it tomorrow," Johnny called Eliana to him and Miguel, speaking softer. "Your mom wants us to have a family dinner tonight so, don't be home too late," He turned away to face Eliana, "You coming with me?"

"Yeah, just gotta get my things. I won't be too long." He nodded his head and walked out the warehouse and to his car.

"Must be nice being teacher's favorite."

"Yeah. Is he gonna tuck you in tonight?"

"Hey!" Eliana kicked Penis Breath. "Shut the fuck up. Not his fault you can't handle training." She grabbed her bag and made sure it was closed.

Miguel was frozen in place, Eliana patted his shoulder and smiled. "Ignore them. Sensei's probably just a bit paranoid."

"He shouldn't be. He knows I'm strong enough to handle it."

"And sometimes people forget facts when they worry. We can train together at home when he's not around." He smiled slightly and looked down.

"'Kay. Now go, he's waiting for you." His sister chuckled and left the building. And he just stood there for a bit longer.

Diaz residence !!

It was uncomfortably silent at the table. Carmen, Johnny, and Eliana had been waiting for Miguel to get home for a while already.

Eliana was checking her phone every now and then for a text from Anthony or even Juno. Hoping a friendly conversation would save her from the awkward silence.

"Why is he so late?" Carmen was notably angrier than usual. Johnny shrugged and shook his head.

"I'm sure it's fine."

"I'm gonna kill him when he gets here."

Johnny leaned back to stand, "Maybe I should go."

"What? No. I need you to have my back."

Eliana tried to tune them out while she scrolled on her phone. But thankfully, not too long after, Miguel walked in.

Carmen turned to her son, obviously worrisome. "Where have you been? You have to tell me when you're gonna be home late."

"I'm sorry, I lost track of time." His eyes were wide. Eliana tried to guess what he could've been doing while he was away, and her eyes narrowed while she spoke in her head.

"He lost track of time." Carmen gave Johnny an unamused face. "Which is very irresponsible, and you can't worry your mom like that."

"I was just hanging out with Sam." Eliana silent celebrated for having one correct guess.

Johnny looked to Carmen, dreading the fact that he was expected to discipline Miguel. "See? He was hanging out with his girlfriend. I get it."

"We just want you to be safe. Right?"

"Right. We want you to be safe."

Miguel looked to Eliana for a bit, seeing her mouth 'Just go along.' "Okay."

"Always wear protection."

"What?"

"What? No."

"Woah." Eliana stood up and promptly left. She refused to listen to the rest. She walked to her room until she heard a door slam.

She peeked her head out and Miguel's door was closed. She walked out to knock on the door. Miguel called her in quietly and she opened the door.

"You good?" She closed the door behind her, looking at her brother lying on his bed.

"Yeah."

She chuckled quietly, "Johnny's not very good at this thing, is he?"

"No," Miguel looked to her. "He's pretty bad at it."

She laughed and checked her phone, putting it back into her pocket and sitting down beside her brother.

"We're gonna have to deal with it for a while. I mean, at least he's trying." She shrugged.

Miguel stayed quiet. "I'm sorry he's babying you."

His eyebrow raised. "Why are you apologizing?"

"Because someone should. And we both know it won't be Johnny for a while."

"You shouldn't be the one to do it, though."

She shrugged once more, taking off her shoes to get comfortable on the bed. "I'm okay with it. So, besides Johnny, is there a reason you're so bummed?"

Miguel sighed and shook his head. "Nah, it's all good."

Eliana couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't being truthful, something in her head was saying he was lying. But she wasn't sure it'd be best to pry.

"Have you eaten?"

"I ate a bit at Sam's."

Eliana slowly nodded her head and sucked on her teeth. "Well, you're eating with me 'cause I starved while waiting for you."

Middle school hallway !!

Eliana was walking down the hall with Juno. Passing period, they had nothing to do but roam around. They laughed about whatever what was on their mind and heard some laughing coming from the left.

"Call me that one more time.. and you'll regret it."

"Sorry, I... I forgot you were so sensitive about that. LaPusso."

Eliana walked faster to the sound, quickly backing up when Kenny almost ran into her. She chased after them, Juno not far behind.

She panted while running to catch the boys, eventually finding herself in the school's library. Anthony was looking for Kenny with his friends behind him.

"Doesn't matter. He's trapped."

Eliana closed the door behind her, "What the hell happened?"

Anthony looked to her and his eyes widened. "Nothing, don't worry about it!"

The lights were turned off and it was dark in the room. The boys spoke on their confusion meanwhile Eliana and Juno walked around to look for a light switch.

"Come on. Let's find him."

They spread out, looking through the bookcases. One almost hit Juno because he thought she was Kenny.

Eliana heard someone call out for Marcus then get kicked into a bookcase.

"What was that?" Anthony yelled into the space beside him.

Eliana turned to Juno, "Find a light switch, I'll be back." Her friend nodded and walked away.

She quickly found Kenny, he was staring down one of Anthony's friends and beat him down.

"Guys?"

"Kenny," He turned around to see Eliana. Of course the girl trying to talk to him is here. Why wouldn't she be?

He walked away from her, ignoring her calls. Eliana heard Anthony fall and rushed to find him so she could help. She seemed to be too late, finding him in Kenny's hands, about to be pummeled.

Then the lights were turned on, and Kenny looked up to see an angered teacher next to Juno.

"Hey! What's going on in here?"

Front office !!

The girls sat beside Anthony, waiting for their turn to get lectured on the consequences of violence and bullying.

Juno reassured them that it wouldn't be too bad. This wasn't her first time in the office for a fight. Although it was her first time getting in trouble for a fight she didn't participate in.

Anthony's parents walked in, "Hey, Anthony. Are you okay?" Their son nodded his head and Amanda looked at Eliana.

"You alright?" She smiled at the woman and glanced at Anthony.

The principal stepped out his office, "Mr. and Mrs. LaRusso, come on in." He led them in and close the door.

They talked a bit with him, and were shown videos of Anthony chasing after Kenny and Kenny opening his locker when it was filled with milk. Daniel turned around to give an angered look to Anthony, clearly disappointed in his son.

Kenny smiled and leaned closer to Anthony, "I got you." He laughed while the boy beside him was drowning in regret and sorrow.

Eliana looked to Kenny. His devilish grin and his evil chuckle boiled her blood. "What happened to you?" She questioned under her breath.

His smile dropped and he stopped laughing, turning to her. "I toughened up. When are you gonna do the same?"
