⋆。° ✮Amaya wakes up and realizes Usagi is missing by her side, she probably went off jogging. That gave her time to think, she layed back down. Even if the cardboard was too uncomfortable she layed down.
The memories came. Flying past her brain the same way butterflies fly, memories who at that time you didn't know were gonna be the only thing you would be able to cling to, the same way butterflies don't know the importance of their wings-or the beauty of it.
At school, she wasn't popular but she was well known enough. Everyone know her as the "loud and chatty girl" and well they weren't wrong. Amaya walked through the corridors of the school with a smile big enough to glow a dark room.
Then she remembered, Kiyoshi. Amaya. Not this Amaya, the old Amaya no one else got to see. The Amaya that had a special glow only for him. She could run her mouth as much as she wanted at school because she knew she had her brother to protect her.
She remembered when she was 10, and was fighting with a girl at a playground, Amaya was pulling her hair and scratching her. Why? Because she said that her brother was a wimp.
And then he came, gently grabbed Amaya's hand off the girl and led her away from the playground. Without a word he took her to their usual place- an ice cream shop. It has a yellow and white striped banner on top and the words "ice cream" written on it in soft pink letters. He sat her down and came back with two ice cream cones. Vanilla- his favorite and Cookies and cream- her favorite .
"Stop. Fighting." He spoke. His voice was stern as he looked at her.
She didn't even look up from her ice cream. "Why should i?"
"Because you'll get hurt."
"She spoke about you." Amaya said, licking her ice cream.
Then she got interrupted out of her thoughts as Usagi walked in.
"Oh, Usagi you're back." Amaya spoke, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
"Yeah, it's raining." Usagi responded.
"Oh then, why were you out?" Amaya asked.
"Just exercise."
"Of course."
"Anyways, lets go find some food or something. I have umbrellas" Usagi chirped.
"Okay, im like terrifyingly bored." Amaya responded. "Like the kind of bored you get after your partner leaves your house."
"Nice.. description?" Usagi said.
And they went out, both holding their umbrellas. The rain was heavy, it fell on them just like little glass drops.
Amaya came across some flowers, purple hyacinths to be exact. She knew every flower and their meaning. These usually symbolized sorrow, regret and grief? So why would she be seeing them now.
Then she saw Usagi nuding something- someone, with her foot. Then a familiar figure was sitting a few feet away from him. Thats when she realized, the person laying there unmoving was Arisu. She didnt even register the figure next to him, just ran straight to Arisu.
She pushed past Usagi and knelt down to Arisu nudging his shoulder. "Hey, hey what happened?!" She shook his shoulder. He remained unmoving. "Hey hey are you okay?!" He was breathing. She let out a sigh of relief, only then did she notice the boy sitting next to them. Their friends, Chota and Shibuki weren't with them.
"What happened?!" She said to Karube.
"Where are your guys's friends?" Amaya added.
His silence gave her all the answers she needed to hear. Her hand flew to her mouth as she had just realized the bitter truth. She looked down at Arisu and back at him, just to make sure.
"Oh my god, im so sorry guys! I really didn't-"
"Its fine." Karube responded. Not looking up from the ground, his voice was hoarse and dry. Amaya silently winced at the pain in his eyes and his voice.
"Do you guys wanna come with us- it would be totally okay!" Amaya quickly said.
"Do you want to live?" Usagi suddenly said. Arisu didn't even look up, and Karube remained silent.
"Let's go Amaya." Usagi told Amaya. "We shouldn't waste our time in people that don't want to live either way."
"But-" Amaya interjected.
"Amaya-" Usagi spoke but before she could say anything Amaya interrupted her.
"No. I don't care. They saved me, and i won't leave them." Amaya snapped.
Karube finally looked up, his expression usually so readable and predictable was now just blank. But Amaya swore she saw a flicker of gratitude flash through his eyes.
"Come on, lets go Arisu."
