A sigh left Y/C. Yesterday they'd moved into a mansion. They'd moved into a mansion and met seven complete strangers that happened to be sharing the mansion with them. They were also the Seven Deadly Sins. What topped it off was that they were Y/C's new personal helpers, apparently.
Obviously, they had been skeptical at first but had started to believe what they were saying, after seeing photos that were taken and listening to their story. It seemed so in depth, and, though hard to believe, there were little to no holes in it. It also explained why the mansion had so many bedrooms. One for each Sin, a Master Bedroom and roughly four spare rooms.
Envy was very clear and direct about what went in and out of his room, their placement, as if he had his own way of life and he didn't want it to change. It was practically empty yet he still seemed extremely precise about everything. Not to mention, everything in his room was either a pale green, pale brown or white.
Pride's room was full of blues, silvers and golds. He had rows of shelves full of what he deemed to be rewards or what could lead to him telling a story about himself. It was mostly just photographs that he'd framed and placed on a glass shelf. He'd arranged it so his display case would be the first thing the visitor's eyes would spot.
Lust's room was a coloration of pinks and reds, with the hint of gold and silver, here and there. Her room was normally illuminated by scented candles, dotted around on the top of all her drawers, nightstands and her vanity desk, which held a circular mirror. Her Queen sized, canopy bed was in the middle of her room, so it seemed to almost glow due to the candles.
Sloth's room was plain and lacked any real order. Everything was laid out carelessly and messily but, Y/C wasn't one to judge, and it isn't their job to clean it up. The walls were a light grey, and the bed was white- unkept and never made.
Wrath's room was extremely neat and uniformed, mostly in shades of red and grey. She seemed to be proud of her room, however, she was more humble about it.
Gluttony's room was extremely dark and seemed almost cryptic in a fashion, almost like the man himself. It was messy and unorganized, it mostly seemed like a normal, teen's, room.
Greed's room was luxurious and neat, most of it being in yellow, like Sloth's- the two seemed rather close. Especially compared to the other Sin's- they seemed to work in pairs.
Sloth and Greed.
Envy and Lust.
Wrath and Gluttony.
Pride. Pride seemed too, self centered, to work with another.
Surprisingly, they also seemed to have given themselves names, as well, that they preferred to go by. Sloth had named himself Brian, Greed was Tim, Envy was called Toby, Lust was named Nina, Wrath had called herself Jane, Pride - Jeff and Gluttony had named himself Jack, or as the others sometimes called him, EJ- short for Eyeless Jack. It was somewhat strange to think about them humanizing themselves in a fashion.
Though, there was something that was playing on their mind, however. How did the Sins know that there was a house here? They claimed to have split and gone in their separate directions, having been sick of each other's company. How did they end up here again?
Y/C slowly made their way downstairs, to the ground floor, and headed to the dining room. It was a large room, with a long, wooden, vanished and ornate table- one holding resemblance to what a Monarch would use. It had small table clothes with lace, candles and plate mats.
Sat down at the table, eating breakfast, was Jane. She looked up, giving Y/C a bright smile. "Good Morning." She greeted. "Is there anything I can help with?" She asked.
Hesitantly, Y/C nodded, before reluctantly sitting down opposite her. "Uh, I'm just curious, but, if you guys seperated, then how did all of you know about this house?" They asked.
Jane nodded a bit as if she agreed with the question, making sure she had swallowed her food before she replied. "Well, you are aware of the Garden of Eden?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. When Y/C nodded, Jane continued. "Well, the forbidden fruit tree was actually on this very ground- and, well, we were sent to 'guard' it, until, one day, we got bored. At the time, we were in the form of the snake and were one being. We all took turns in persuading Eve." She explained.
"Don't you think you'd be prettier?"
"You're good enough for that apple, aren't you?"
"Why are you allowed all of this rubbish fruit, but not this one?"
"One bite won't hurt- plus you're already here. Might as well."
"You can have all of the fruit, all it takes is one bite!"
"Aren't you dying of hunger? I know I am. That apple just looks so refreshing.."
"Won't you feel powerful? Powerful knowing that you have eaten that apple? That forbidden apple?"
"That's when we began to show defining traits, and were rewarded with our own bodies. We stayed in the Garden of Eden as it slowly decayed around us, but, the tree never did. We stuck together for thousands and thousands of years, until 1833. We started to fight more than usual, and, we ended up splitting up. We agreed to meet up at the tree every ten years, though. That was until the tree was cut down, and this mansion was built, and our lives started to miraculously fall down hill. We found sanctuary here, and promised to help the owner."
Y/C gave her a confused look, "And how exactly do you help the owners?" They asked.
"Well," Jane began with a sigh, playing with her food, "We tend to help them complete their goals, either by giving them advice, and, or, we manipulate those around them so they can complete their goals. But we took an oath to never manipulate the owner, unless they request it."
