but I decided, hey, why not put a list of some of my favourite songs that need more recognition?

I literally have two favourite artists I cherish more than the world which are Alec Benjamin and SEVENTEEN

Mainly because I don't listen to other K-POP groups and western rap is eeeeeeeehhhhhhhh and has too many sexual innuendos man :/

and fall out boy and imagine dragons + P!ATD because hell yeah

so I'll list down some songs and tell you why I really love these songs, along with why I think these songs are just pure artistry and deserve to be praised :>

#1. Jesus in LA
This is a song that really hits home for anyone who's been disappointed that they couldn't reach their dreams, or that their dream wasn't as good as it seemed. Not only is it such a bop, it tells the story of a young, naïve Alec that moved to LA in pursuit of his music career only to find that the world is so much bigger than it seemed and that he was all alone. Literally, this is an amazing song that needs so much more recognition.

#2. Pretending
This song is a demo of Alec's that I just can't get out of my head. It's so beautiful — I relate to it so much, and anyone who's had to put up an a t and smile will probably say the same. The reff hsts so differently and you just can't help but hear the raw emotion, just like in any of Alec's demos. I also recommend "Now she's Getting Married" because ohhh boy that song just gives me the shivers.

#3. Knife in my Back
Another one of Alec's demos that I just can't jagsjdjdmddkjddjd he's actually so talented??? How does one write songs that are THIS good on a daily basis? For those of you who have felt the pain of betrayal, this song just hits so hARD. The reff is so beautiful I want to cry.

#4. Match in the Rain
omL alec what are you doing to me??? Why am I crying over a song?? It's so melodic, soothing, and yes, you should listen to it while its raining because it just brings you comfort, even though it's such a sad song. The feeling of seeing your relationship — whether it be romantic or platonic — fizzle out? It's just explained so perfectly in this song.

#5. I'm not a Cynic
no explanation. just listen to it. Alec Benjamin is superior.

#6. Don't Threaten Me with a Good Time
Brandon Urie's powerful vocals are here again and they wrecked me so bad—

His old songs are ones I really vibe with, especially the ones that are more emo ( emo is a genre of muSiC not a label for people, okay? Emo people are people who LISTEN to emo music, not gOTh— ) and it's just so refreshing to scream out with him.

#7. This Ain't a Scene, It's a Gxddamn Arms Race
Fall Out Boy is honestly so legendary. You don't have to listen to their hit songs — listen to the songs that are in their album, because only then will you actually appreciate their amazing tunes. This is just an amazing song and it hypes me up every single time I listen to it, no cap.

#8. Dance, Dance
I can't help but screech my lungs out whenever I hear this song. I love it so much???? It's so amazing and I literally love the reff.

#9. Just Like You
Alec's album, These Two Windows, is just FILLED with amazing songs. I can't find a single bad song bruh. I literally can't. Also, the guitar playing here??? Impeccable. Bro I want your skillz. It's so emotional, especially if you look up to your father/father-figure.

#10. I'm Sorry
Imagine Dragons akvsjddkdjkdskdkd this song will always be in my playlist. I love it love it love it.

#11. This is Gospel

SEVENTEEN. AHHHHHHHHH I LITERALLY LOVE THIS SONG. it took some time to get used to the aloof beat, but BRUH. ITS LITERALLY SUCH A BOP. It's so different, so fresh? I'm such a sucker for songs like A-TEEN because it has this sort of tune I can't describe that I'm just so attracted to.

#15. Hug
Another SEVENTEEN song asgkdkhdkdkds Hug is so warm and so nice and you just can't help but melt into your bed as you listen to these warm voices literally dripping with honey SINGING TO YOU WHAT?! THIS IS LITERALLY LIKE SO AMAZING. I cannot. If you're feeling lonely or sad, listen to this song. You don't need to understand the lyrics to feel the warmth of their voices. Same goes for their song "Us, Again". It's so nostalgic and aAAAHHH I literally love them so much.

#16. Swim
I'm a sucker for water, and Alec singing about swimming in an ocean of your feelings, trying not to drown? Sign me up pls.

#17. Sickness
This is a collab between Vernon of SVT and PLEDIS GIRLZ, I believe. But BRUHHH his rap is so powerful, and the female vocals are just so heart-wrenching.

#18. Thinkin' Bout You
ANoThEr sVT sOng? Am I obsessed? you know the answer. But this song is literally so fun and that little oueioueioueo in the reff is so adorable and catchy. It makes me feel so happy to hear this song, no kidding.

#19. Any song by Alec Benjamin he needs more praise, fans, and clout idc whatchu say—

he's so amazing and if you like modern American pop music, he's literally the guy for you. Every song he's made tells a story, and I absolutely love it.

#20. Literally any song by SEVENTEEN, don't @ me—

I'm not saying this as a CARAT, I'm saying this as a person who loves and has studied music for a while now. I can say for a fact that SVT's discography is diverse, flexible, and filled with amazing vocals and tunes. I'm not saying that they're the best. I'm not saying that they're the most talented. I'm saying that their songs are all so wonderful to listen to and you're guaranteed to find a song or two that suits your taste. They're skilled musicians who live what they do, and it really does show in their music. There's a reason why I liked every single one of their songs on Spotify and keep listening to it for weeks to no end—

anyway, my music taste isn't for everyone, so feel free to drop your favourite songs down here too! I'm not gonna argue about music tastes because :/ duh, it's relative. Every one of these singers I have listed here have solid vocals and amazing musicality to me, and I just felt like sharing it since aaAAAHHH ALEC MADE A NEW ALBUM EARLY THIS YEAR AND SVT JUST HAD THEIR COMEBACK  😭😭😭
