"Vinnie sit still dude." I snap at him. Vinnie was sat between my legs, because I was currently braiding his hair into two braids, my boredom getting the best of me. "Stop pulling at my scalp then." He sasses back.

I pop his head and he slightly flinches, nonetheless sitting still. Vinnie and I were sat in our hotel room in New York, having come here on a random whim.

We brought along Jack and a few other friends to be with us, so that we could split the travel costs easier, and yes you guessed it, Vinnie and I messed up the room information so we ended up having to share a room, but neither of us really minded, since we were so close.

Over the past few weeks I noticed Vinnie being bolder than usual with his flirting, not that I minded. I don't really know where we stand with our friendship, but I wasn't going to push anything until he showed me clear signs.

"There you go mister." I say finishing his second braid. "Perfect." I smile, patting his head lightly. He walks to the full length mirror next to his bed to inspect his hair.

He smiles once he takes a look at himself, giving me a thumbs up. "Wow, that's really good Liz." He compliments. I smile proudly, happy that he liked it.

I sit back against my bed, scrolling through my phone when I feel my bed dip harshly. I look over and see that Vinnie plopped down on my bed, his game controller in his hand.

"Uh- you have a whole bed over there." I say, raising my eyebrows. Not making eye contact with me and continuing to play his game that he hooked up to the hotel tv, he shrugs.

"I know, yours just hits better." He excuses. I roll my eyes playfully. "If you wanted to be in the same bed as me you could've just said that." I joke.

"Fine. I wanted to be near you, but is that such a bad thing?" He asks. His sentence catching me off guard, I set my phone down, looking down at his lying body. "Okay what is up with you?" I ask.

He finally looks at me, moving to lay on his stomach. "What do you mean?" He asks, acting oblivious. "What's with the small flirting and always wanting to be near me recently?" I ask straight forward.

He sighs, his head hanging for a second. "Well what do you think Lizzy?" He questions.

I knew my answer, I just didn't want to be wrong.

My confidence suddenly deflates when I realize what position i've put myself in. "Uh- I don't know, it just feels like you feel some type of way towards me." I say, my voice much softer.

"Maybe I do." He says, looking up at me. No words come out of my mouth, giving him more time to speak. "You're right, I'm usually not this straightforward, but I realized that's not going to get me anywhere. I have to make my intentions clear, because i don't want to confuse you." He says.

I nod my head, agreeing with him. It was silent for a few more moments, Vinnie waiting for a response from me. He sits up, sitting in front of me. "Okay, you want me to tell the truth? Yeah, I like you Elizabeth, I think you're funny, caring, beautiful, and so many other things you don't see, but I can't take any of this any further if you don't give me something. A sign, a signal, something." He confesses.

"I don't know what to say." I say, fidgeting with my hands, something I did when I was nervous. Vinnie always noticed that about me, so when he saw my hands fidgeting with each other, he took one of my hands in his, stopping me. "I'm gonna do something and you don't have to say anything. Just give me a sign and i'll have my answer." He says.

"Okay." I say, my voice low. Suddenly he starts to lean closer to me, my heart starting to race. Once he's close enough, he places his hand on the side of my neck, caressing my cheek with his thumb. "I'm gonna kiss you now, and if you don't like it, just pull away and we'll act like this never happened." He says, his voice low.

I find myself getting lost in his eyes, our proximity a lot closer than I remembered. I could feel his breath fanning my face, the smell of mint and a mixture of vanilla from his natural scent enveloping me. His eyes flick to my lips, my eyes doing the same to his.

He leans in closer, finally closing the gap between us. As soon as his lips touched mine, all sense I had was lost. I felt like I was in a fever dream. His soft lips mold with mine almost perfectly, and I didn't know this moment could get any more perfect.

I place my hand on the nape of his neck, pulling him closer. Our kiss deepens just when we're forced to pull away for air. He pulls away slightly, keeping his forehead on mine.

"I guess you have your answer." I laugh slightly. He shakes his head, his eyes still on my lips. He runs his thumbs over my bottom lips, licking his own. "No, I wanna hear you say it." He smiles slightly.

I roll my eyes, a small smile on my face. "I like you Vinnie." I finally confess.

His smile grows as he pecks my lips twice more, before pulling away. "I know." He teases. I roll my eyes, pushing him so that he falls off of the bed.

He lets out a yelp, causing me to laugh. He comes up from the floor, leaning his arms on the bed. "You're gonna regret that Liz."
