SAUDADE

Amber's point of view~

"Can any one of you hand me the bouquet of white lilies and peonies?!" I heard Miss Sumire call out as I rush towards the order she asked for since the others were busy.

"On it!" I call out from the back.

I grab the bouquet which was thankfully still fresh and doing well. I rushed back to the front of the store and handed the bouquet to Miss Sumire.

"This should be the it." I told her as Miss Sumire nodded as she handed the bouquet to a young man who looked to be in his mid-twenties.

"Yes! These are perfect! Thank you so much!" The man said, admiring the flowers.

"Well I'm happy to help and I do hope the lucky person who receives these also loves them." Miss Sumire said as the customer bid them goodbye and left.

"Ah... Young love... Always reminds me of me and my late husband." I heard Sumire let say in a melancholic tone.

I looked at her sympathetically. I've known Miss Sumire for only a year and half. She was a widow in her mid-forties. The flower shop used to be run by both her and her late husband she told me a lot about. He had passed away five years ago. Luckily someone had volunteered to work here before her and it was of great help to her.

I was the fifth person to join this little family. The first one is my senior and the second and third were twin siblings and lastly a person my age. Working around in the flower shop was fun and I myself loves flowers too. Especially pink roses. Those are my favorite.

The day had gone by pretty fast and we were done giving away all the orders. I sighed, relaxing myself as i helped clean up the shop. I was lucky that this was my last work for the day and the weekends were starting from tomorrow so I didn't need to attend classes. Luckily, I was also getting my raise tomorrow so that was a win.

"That should do it." I heard one our co-workers say as we finished cleaning up.

"That's my cue for closing up shop. Seriously I want to than you kids for helping me out. Today was a very busy day." Miss Sumire said as we all agreed.

We all exited the shop as I stretched my arms a bit as I looked up at the sky. That's when i heard footsteps beside me as I saw it was Kenzo. He was the one that was about the same age as me that worked at the shop.

"Tired?" He asked as I nodded.

"Yep. Can't wait to get home." I responded back.

"So... Have you thought about what I asked...?"

I looked at him in confusion before realizing what he meant. Three days ago he asked if I wanted to go on a date with him. I told him I wasn't sure and he gave me time to think about it. I had thought about it and honestly i didn't see him in any romantic way and just saw him as a friend.

"Oh yeah um... Sorry I just don't feel the same. Don't get me wrong, you're a good guy but you get the idea..." I told him, nervously rubbing the top of my hair.

"Ah... Don't worry I understand. To be honest I really didn't think I had a chance with you there." I heard him say, my eyes widening.

"Hey! Don't say that. Besides I am just one girl. There are plenty of others who are way better." I said, nervously smiling.

"Wha-? Are you kidding?! I'm not the only one that wanted to confess to you and ask you out on a date! There are like others who do and they all like you cause of how kind and caring and generous you are!" He said as I blinked in surprise at that information.

"Oh... I never noticed." I sweat dropped at the information.

"I should get going. It's getting late." I told him, shifting the subject.

"Yeah You're right. See ya later!" Kenzo said, walking the opposite direction as I nodded before heading off.

"Well that was awkward and nerve wracking..." I thought, letting out a sigh as I continued walking down the road towards my apartment.

I was halfway across the street to my apartment when I felt a sudden dizziness wash over me. I stopped myself from walking so I don't fall over but even that didn't work and before I knew it, everything went black.

...

"Can you hear my voice?"

What?

"I have something I must tell you."

"Remember, you should never look back. Never..."

"If you look back, you will surely.."

Multiple visions of people flash before me, making me can't help but feel like I've seen or met them before but I can't seem to tell why...

"A day when the sky comes tumbling down and the stars are falling."

"When the signs of disaster open their eyes,"

"You will be talking about us."

More vivid images and visions fly past me, making me unable to make sense of anything.

"Welcome back."

"This is the end of the world, Bound Arlyn."

"The place looked after by the constellation."

"Take a good look..."

"See for yourself what a ragged world this is."
