Chapter Twelve.
I couldn't help but stay up as I watched her sleep. She was perfectly flawless in every way.
Her head nuzzled against my chest as I comb my fingers through her hair as I breathed slowly.
I don't deserve her. We are not even dating and in a way..I was using her?
The hours pass as I found myself falling asleep. I woke up without her in my arms. I sat up in the bed and looked at the clock on my nightstand.
6:03am
"Marina?"
She was over by the cherrywood dresser, looking at the photos on it. She turns to me and smiles as I notice her wearing one of my robes, "You were so cute as a baby." I got up and slid my boxers on and walk off to her, snatching the photo, "Gimme that!" She giggles as she noticed how embarrassed I was of the photo. She reached over and grabbed the photo of me and my mother and slid her fingertips against the glass.
She was silent as she mumbles, "You and your mother have a good relationship, huh?" I nod as I lean my back against the dresser, staring at her, "I love my mother so much, I would do anything for her."
She smiles subtly before setting the photo back down, "I haven't seen my mother since she walked out on me when I was 17. No dad in the picture, drug-dealer, I live with my grandmother." She looks down at her fingers as she plays with them for a while then looks up at me with teary-eyes, "Thanks for last night, really. I really needed it. It wasn't just sex, it was really meaningful to me. Anyways, I think I should go.." I looked at her speechlessly as she leans over and kissed my cheek. I grab her arm and pulls her back into my arms as I kiss her.
Her arms wrapped around mine as I whisper against her lips, "Stay for breakfast. I don't want you to go just yet." She smiles softly before resting her forehead against mine, "Mm...I don't know, Michael." My hands moved to her shoulder as I attempt to slide the robe off her body. She lifts her head, noticing what I was doing as the robe exposed her naturally perky breasts then looked up in my eyes quietly. Just one look from her and I just wanted to carry her back to the bed. She pulls her hair back from her face, sliding it behind her ear before pulling the robe up.
"Ah, ah, ah Mr. Jackson."
I chuckle as she walks off and reaches over, grabbing her dress from the floor. I shook my head, "Wait here, I might can get some clothes from my sister." She laughs, "In your boxers?" I roll my eyes, "Girl, stop playing. I got dress and walked out my room and snuck into Latoya's room and grabbed a shirt and a pair of jeans and ran back to my room. She looks up at me as I give her the clothes. She scrunches her nose at the floral Hawaiian shirt as she puts it on with the jeans.
I groan as I slid my loafers on, "C'mon, I'm starving." She giggles as I grab her hand and take her downstairs. My mother was sitting in one of the dining room chairs, eating a banana while Randy and Marlon sat across from her, eating a muffin. I yawn a 'Good Morning' before introducing Marina. My mother smiles, "Oh, you're the doctor that saved my baby!" I blush shyly, looking away as my mother put me on the spot. Marina laugh while nodding, "Yeah, that's me. It's truly an honor to meet all of you."
Marlon looks at her, handing her a plate filled with blueberry muffins, "Want one?" She takes one, "Thanks." I take one as well before pulling a chair out for Marina to sit in. She smiles, "Thank you." I nod as I grab a chair and sat beside her. Randy flashed a smile at her, which deep down made me somewhat jealous. I knew we weren't a couple, but Marina is mine. Marlon breaks the ice and chuckles, "So are you two dating?" I raise an eyebrow as Marina looked back at me and we both chuckle shyly in unison before she shakes her head, "We are simply friends." Randy mumbles under his breath, "Didn't sound like that last night."
I kicked his leg under the table as Marina gasps.
She was completely embarrassed. Her face was red like a ripe tomato knowing that my brothers were listening to our very intimate moment. She eats one more bite of the muffin before standing up, "I-I think I should, get to work." She stands you and leaves from the dining room to the front door. I gave Randy and Marlon a nasty look before standing up and running after Marina.
"Marina, wait!"
She was already outside, and I caught up to her. She turns to me, and I sigh, "I'm really sorry about my brothers. I'll talk to them. That was really disturbing and embarrassing." She nods in agreement before stuffing her hands in her pockets.
"Michael, they're right. One moment we said we wasn't going to be dating, next moment we are making love in your bed. What are we?"
I lick my lips at her question before sighing, "I don't know what we are, Marina. But don't you think this could work?" She raises an eyebrow, "Hm, you want me to be your sex pal?" I chuckle as I gently caress her cheek, "Sex pals? You know sex pals don't have feelings for one another. You know how I feel about you, babygirl." She slaps my hand from her face before folding her arms angrily, "Then, what the hell are we, Michael? Because you refuse to date me, and I refuse to be your sex pawn."
My eyes gazed at hers then at the trees, "I want us to be exclusive." She scrunches her face, "What makes that any differen-" I interrupt her, "Because I love you. That's what makes it different." She looks at me speechless. Her anger subsided as she whispers softly, "What did you say?"
My eyes went back to hers, "I love you, Marina. And if I didn't, I wouldn't have had sex with you." She blinks slowly, trying to process the words I said before leaning in and kissing my lips, "I love you too, Michael."
Just hearing those words from her made my heart skip a beat. I pull away, whispering in her ear, "I don't want a girlfriend right now, but I don't want to let you go. You make me feel...normal, and being with you, I feel as though every moment it's just the two of us together. I couldn't bare the thought of you being with an another man." She smirks, "Possessive much?" I smuggle a smile, "I guess so. So?"
She thinks for a moment before nodding, "Fine, I'll give this a try." I smile widely as I lift her into my arms and spin her around, causing her to giggle. I was elated to have her all to myself. All mine.
I set her down, kissing her lips sweetly before mumbling, "Have a good day at work." She laughs as she kept her arms wrapped around my neck, "I'm off today. I just wanted to be dramatic." I roll my eyes, "Girl..." She giggles while snuggling her head in my chest. I enjoyed the smell of coconut from her hair as I mumble, "Can I ask for a favor?" She looks at me as I ask, "Can you check my bandages?"
She nods as we walk inside and I sit on the couch as she stands up, unwrapping my bandages and whispers, "It's healing really well." She walks upstairs and comes back down with the ointment the doctors gave me and my painkillers. She gently massaged the ointment on my head, causing me to wince.
"Michael, I'm sorry but I have to put it on here."
I groan painfully, "It's so sensitive though.." Once she was done, she got more bandages and bandaged my head. I smile, "Thank you." She smiles, "Must be a plus to be with a girl who's a doctor." She gives me two of the pills with a glass of water, and I swallow them. Eventually, she sat down on the couch with me and screams as she feels something slithering against her ankle. I look down, "Honey, that's just Muscles." She looks down and squeals, hugging me tightly, "Get it away from me!" I laugh loudly, "Muscles, stop scaring Marina."
I pick him up, wrapping his body around me.
Marina sat there quietly before reaching over and sliding her fingertips against his silky body. Momentarily, Muscles slither into her body and wrapped himself around her. She was tense, but eventually she got use of him.
She smiles as she watch the slimy boa constrictor wrap around her, "You know, one time this guy hit a dog and brought him to the ER, and I remember freaking out so much because it's like doctors don't know anything about dogs, so I had to quickly run and get a book on dogs to learn how to resuscitate it. We saved it, but it was just a funny experience. It makes me question why you couldn't just have a dog, Michael?" I laugh, "Dogs are boring." She laughs, "At least they don't squeeze your body!"
I laugh, "Muscles is just giving you a big hug!" She rolls her eyes and before she could respond she was interrupted by the piercing sound of glass shattering in the kitchen.

Marina is totally better than me. I could never be that close to a snake, nevertheless let it slither on me. But anyways, what was that noise? Was it just a plate breaking or something more severe? Got to read to find out!
