Chapter Nine.

His warm lips pressed against my temple before looking away, looking for the right words to say.I waited for an answer as he sighs softly, looking at me with such intensity.

"I don't want to lie to you, but I do like you. I feel something...between us, but I have to admit, I don't think I'm looking for anything too uh.."

I smile superficially, "Serious?" He nods as I reply back, "It's cool, um, I don't mind, Michael. I hope I didn't make this too awkward." He shakes his head, "No, no. I just don't think it would be great for us to be together as a couple, with my whole chaotic life. I don't want to seem like a..uh, burden."

I understood where he was coming from. He didn't want me to be bombarded by the press. He already had people writing lies about him, and I know the media was having a field day with his accident. I couldn't live a life with the media bombarding me in the ER about Michael. He cared about me enough to somewhat let me go. I watched as he licks his lips, grinning, as my pager started to go off.

I groan, "Nooooooo." He chuckles, "I guess you got to go?" I shake my head, "I don't think it's too important" as we walk outside the restaurant. His hand was holding mine in a friendly manner as he looks up at the night stars.

"Marina look!"

He was a whole child at heart. The way he was excited to look at the twinkly stars in the pitch dark sky. I point at one of the constellations, "Looks like a bear." He squints, "Ah, yes, Ursa Major." I turn to him, and he blushes shyly, "I read about it in a book once." He told me about the philosophical meaning of the stars, and I sigh contently.

Not only, he was a child at heart, but he was ridiculously intelligent. He had a love for reading. He told me about his growing library he has in his room and that one day when he gets a house he's going to have a huge library full of books. I giggle softly as he leans over and kisses my lips sweetly.

My arms wrapped around his neck while his arms wrapped around my waist. It felt so good to be in his warmth. To inhale his passionately sexy cologne. I slowly pull away, and he looks at me whispering, "What are you doing to me?" I giggle in reply as he pulls me to his car, and we sat down in the backseat together.

"You really don't want this night to end, huh?"

He shakes his head while laughing, "I feel so normal, like a normal guy on a date." I smile, "Because you are a normal guy." His smile disappears for a second, "You think I'm normal?" I raise an eyebrow, "You got a heart, two ears, a nose...." I poke it playfully as we both giggled together.

"I have to say, Mr. Jackson, you're as normal as it comes."

He takes his fedora off, setting it in his lap.

"I forgot to ask, um, why are you single? You're just so goddamn sexy."

He seemed embarrassed by the question as I watch his cheeks flush bright red. I couldn't help but look away as I couldn't believe Michael Jackson himself thinks I'm 'sexy.' I comb my fingers through my hair as my back rest against the cold, leather seat. "Well, I'm just a  complicated woman." His hand was on my thigh as we talked.

My heart was pounding in my chest as his hand gently caressed my thigh. I didn't want to seem like a whore for him, but I couldn't help but think of such sexual thoughts. I desired him. I just wanted to feel him between my legs, satisfying me in every way. I wanted him to make love to me. I turn back around to him as he chuckles. I didn't want to give him the wrong message.

"I think I should go to the hospital, see why they're paging me."

He nods, "Yeah, I understand. Um, can I give you a ride?" I laugh, "No, I got it, Michael. You're so sweet. Thank you for tonight, I don't think I've had so much fun during a date." He laughs, smiling widely as he exposed his shiny pearly whites, "Me either, gee, you're such an amazing person. Gorgeous woman. Great kisser."

I gasp and slaps his arm as he laughs louder. His laugh was contagious. It was the type of laugh that made you want to laugh along with him. I was going to miss him. I probably will never see this extraordinary man again, unless it was at a concert. He shoos me along, "Go go!"

I lean over and give him one last kiss. A goodbye kiss. His hands were cupping my face, extending the kiss as I pulled away.

"Bye."

"Bye, Marina."

I got out of his car and walked to mine.

-

"Ah, there she is, walking out of his car."

"Mm, what's the girl's name?"

"Marina Hathaway. She's a ER doctor at Brotman Medical Center. What does she even see in him?"

"Well, she was his doctor. I should've suspected it was something deeper than that. She kept checking up on him. All the time. We certainly have to do something about Mr. Jackson. I want Marina back. I don't care if I have to do it by force."

The two men snickered as they continue to watch Marina as she drives off from the restaurant to the hospital.

"Hm, Paul, do you have the spare key?"

"Of course. I already went into her apartment and got what I needed."

"Good, for the meanwhile, we need her to get closer to Michael. She's our pawn and we need to keep her in the loop. They won't know what hit them."

They may have called the shots, but it seems that Marina carries the dice to this little game. Who are these mysterious guys? And what they want with Michael and Marina? Continue reading to find out!
