I walked up the steps of Morty's house, Morty herself following close behind. I knocked on the door and a woman who resembled Morty almost perfectly opened it. Is this her mom? She looked at me, then Morty and gasped, pushing past me towards her.

"Oh my God baby what happened?!" She exclaimed. So this is her mom. I thought.

Morty's face was still streaked with tears as the two embraced. Morty clung to her and buried her face in her mother's shoulder. "R- Rick- h- he-" She didn't finish her sentence before she let out another sob.

"It's okay baby, just calm down." Her mom whispered. She looked up at me. "Do you know what happened?"

I sighed and began explaining. "Richard Norbert raped her."

She stared at me, her eyes widening as Morty continued to sob.

"Me, Veneer, and Morty, were going to meet at Rick's house to work on an art project together, me and Veneer showed up early and walked in on them. He had her pinned against the wall without a shirt and sucking on her breast." I said, squeezing my eyes shut as if it'd erase the image from my mind.

"I- it was horrible." Morty managed to say.

"Oh my God." Was all her mother said. "Oh my fucking God." She kissed Morty's forehead and brout her inside, motioning for me to follow.

I followed her into a clean house and stood in the kitchen, Morty and her mom went down a hallway and a few moments later an old guy came out and stopped in front of me.

"Do you know what happened to my granddaughter?" He asked.

I nod.

"Can you explain? She looked really upset." He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.

I sigh and repeat what I'd told Morty's mom.

"Oh my fu- where does he live?" He questioned.

I wrote the address down in my sketchbook and handed him the sheet of paper. He folded it up and stuffed it in his pocket before saying: "Thanks for getting her out of there, I appreciate it."

I nod. "You're welcome."

"And I was also wondering, doesn't that Rick guy have a boyfriend?" He gives me a serious look.

I nod again. "Yeah. It's- was," I correct myself. "Veneer."

"Wow." He says. "Gross."

"Yeah. It's disgusting." I agree

"Well, thanks for bringing her home and getting her out of there. I hope someone gives him what he deserves one day." He nods.

I laugh a little. "Yeah, I kinda did. Not sure it was enough though."

"What did you do?" He asks.

"I punched him a few times."

He laughs. "Good for you."

...

I walked over to Veneer, who was staring at the ground. Expressionless. And Orchid, who had come with us, just looked over at me, pursing her lips.

"Hey." I put my hand on his shoulder delicately. He jumps and looks up at me. "Come on. I'll walk you home."

He blinks. "Y- you don't have to." He whispers, but I was already guiding him down the sidewalk, holding his wrist.

...

I walked him up the steps, Orchid was following us. I knocked on the door and let go of Veneer's wrist, but he suddenly grabs my hand, his eyes pleading for me not to let go.

Velvet opens the door, and her sassy expression immediately changes to a worried one when she sees her brother's face.

"Veneer what happened?!" She pulls him into a hug and our hands disconnect.

"Rick cheated on him by raping Morty." I explain for a third time what had happened.

"THAT MOTHERFUCKER!" Velvet says venomously.

"You can say that again." Orchid agrees.

Velvet's head snaps over to look at my sister and she suddenly turns into a blushing, stuttering mess.

"O- Orchid! H- hi! W- what are you d- doing h- here?!" Her face was cherry red and she had this dorky smile on her face. Wait. Does Velvet...? Oh my God. The realization hits me in a matter of seconds.

Orchid shrugs and says: "I go where my brother goes."

"Hehe." Velvet laughs nervously.

Orchid raises an eyebrow in pure confusion. Oh my poor oblivious sister.

Veneer looks at Velvet, then Orchid, then Velvet again, his index finger going from one to the other. "Wait. What's- ohhhhhhhhhhhh."

I nod at him and he looks at Velvet, who was offering for me and Orchid to come in.

We both shrug. "Sure." I say.

We walk in and I'm met with perfect air conditioning, smooth marble floors, a stunning diamond chandelier, walls covered in a nice cream color, and the smell of vanilla.

"Woah." Orchid breaths.

"Yeah." I say quietly, taking in every little detail for the tenth time.

"So are y'all just gonna stand there and stare or..." Velvet catches our attention and I blink myself back into reality.

"Oh yeah. So what's going on?" I ask.

Velvet shakes her head, rolling her eyes. "Sit down." She pulls out a couple chairs and I sit down in one. Orchid does the same and Velvet pushed in her chair for her, blushing furiously.

"Um thanks?" Orchid says.

Velvet clears her throat as she says: "Welcome."

She goes down a hallway, Veneer following her, leaving me and Orchid alone in the dining room.

In a few minutes, both twins are back with a bunch of board games and snacks.

"Anyone up for a game of Monopoly?" Velvet asks. "It might help us to get our minds off, well, you know."

I shrug, and Orchid nods. 

We ended up doing that for the rest of the afternoon, but no matter how many times he won, no matter how many times he was congratulated, Veneer still seemed to have the same miserable expression on.
