I'm pretty new to writing fan fiction, but I can't believe it would've come this far! I thank you all for your support and for giving me some of your time to read some of my work. To be honest, I kind of didn't want to make this fanfic in the first place but I decided to just shoot my shot aND IT FREAKING SHOT. I love you guys so much! THANK YOU AHHHHHHH.

"This is gonna be so exciting!" Rapunzel said as she was putting on her skates.

Varian had told everyone the other day to go to the lake near Old Corona because he had something to show everyone.

Everyone was anticipating and was very excited to see what Varian had come up with. They all knew Varian had come a long from explosive and destructive inventions to actually really good ones. He only told them to bring out their skates.

As everyone sat on the bench next to the lake, everyone saw Varian coming up near them as he was pushing a cart with what seems to be a new invention of his covered up with fabric.

"Hey Varian, what is that?" Rapunzel asked as she seemed very excited and curious on what Varian had hidden.

"Welcome everyone! It is my great pleasure to show you guys my brand new invention!" He said as he was gripping  on the fabric. "Ever since (Y/N) had told me but she had missed and wanted to do ice skating again, I have been at hard creating something that will blow your minds."

You heart jumped at the fact that Varian did this, for you. You hoped you weren't turning red though.

You were all on the edge of your seats as Varian was about to pull off the fabric.

"Ladies and gents, I give you THE GLACIER!" He said as he pulled it off, revealing his new big invention in front of everyone. You all gasped in awe.

"Once I turn it on, it'll create enough energy to produce a low enough temperature, which we need about is -60 degrees to get the lake to start freezing in minutes."

"This is amazing, Varian!" You said as you couldn't believe what he had just made. 

You all started to chat amongst yourselves on how you were all amazed and proud on how far Varian has come.

"Whoa Var, you did all of this ..... (Y/N)? Nice job, kid." Eugene asked as he got up from the bench and slowly walked over to Varian.

He whispered, "Some kind of feelings you got there for her huh buddy." Eugene chuckled as he folded his arms.

Varian's eyes widened. "NO I DON'T." He suddenly felt very conscious.

"You don't what? You didn't think that I wouldn't notice you went through sleepless nights and lots of planning on how to make this thing just because she told you that she missed ice skating?"

"I just wanted to make her happy, that's all. So just stop it alright? Before she might ask any questions." Varian said as he turned on the machine and positioned it beside the lake.

The machine started whirring as it began to freeze over the lake. You all got up on from your seat as you were mesmerized as lake was turning into ice bit by bit. 

"Well then, everyone. It's time to put on your skates because in a few minutes were about to start!" Varian said as everyone cheered.

You got on your skates, tying the shoelaces as tight as possible while Varian watched you from beside his machine. You were perfect in his eyes. He sighed at the sight of you.

Cassandra walked over to the two of them, noticing Varian's bizarre look.

She whispered to Eugene, "Hey, what's up with the kid?" She asked.

"Well, it looks like our good friend here has a crush on a certain someone here." Eugene replied with a smile as he pats Varian on the back.

"Wait, really?" Kiera asked, overhearing their conversation.

"Who is it?" Catalina asked as she was very curious as to whom it was.

"Wait! Don't tell me it's.." Cassandra said as she looked over to you. She smirked and then laughed at Varian.

"Oh goodness, why haven't I noticed it before? It's so obvious!" She said as she teased him.

"HEY, stop it you guys! Like I told Eugene, I don't have a crush on her. We're just friends! Nothing more, nothing less."

"OOOOH" The girls said as they mocked the boy. "(Y/N) and Varian sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-"

"What are we all talking about here?" You asked, interrupting the girls as they all looked at you. They didn't notice that you got up from your seat.

"NOTHING, nothing at all. Well, it looks like it's time to uhh turn this thing off and get skating!" Varian said before anyone tried to tell you what they were really talking about.

"Oh, okay!" You said.

They all chuckled behind him after that interaction between the two of you.

"No one talks about this, okay? Promise me." Varian asked all of them.

"Sure."

"Yeah."

"No problem, kiddo."

"Don't worry."

Lance and Rapunzel were still on the bench, sharing the treats Raps brought from Attila's Bakeshop that she brought. They would talk about Eugene and make fun of him. They didn't notice what just happened between their group of friends.

"Alright, everyone! It's time! (Y/N), would you like to join me on the ice? You know, we just gotta check it out first if it's safe for everyone." Varian asked as he lent out his hand to you.

"Sure thing, Varian." You said as you grabbed his hand. You stepped onto the ice, wobbling a little bit as you held onto both of Varian's hands.

"Whoa, looks like I forgot how to skate for a while there." You said as both chuckled.

While you both were having a moment, all of them exchanging glances. Lance and Raps got up, wondering what was going on.

"Hey guys, what are you all looking at each other for?" 

"Varian has a crush on (Y/N)!" Kiera told them both.

"I thought we just promised not to talk about it anymore?" Catalina asked her sister.

"Don't worry, he doesn't have to know."

"Wait, really? But (Y/N) has a crush on Varian!" Raps said happily.

"What?!" They all said in unison, which was quite loud.

"Hey guys, you doing alright there?" You asked as you came to a halt on the ice. Varian was right behind you, but he didn't know how to stop himself. He bumped into you as you both fell on the ice cold ground.

Everyone was silent. They looked at the both of you, wondering what would happen next.

Varian rolled over to the side, so he could get off on your back.

" Oh goodness, I'm so sorry (Y/N). I didn't mean to bump into you like that." He said as he stood up.

He helped you get up as you brushed your skirt, trying to get rid of it's creases.

" Oh don't you worry, I'm fine." You put your hand on his shoulder, as you reassured him.

You look over to your friends who were all watching the both of you.

" Hey, are you guys okay?" You asked as they all were chuckling between themselves.

"Well then guys, it looks like the ice to safe to skate on. So come on, what are you waiting for? Let's all have some fun!" Varian said as he invited everyone to come onto the ice.

Everyone cheered. They all begin to glide and skate, having fun. They didn't think that it was possible to skate in the summer but it turns out they were wrong, thanks to Varian.

Lance had both the girls sitting on his shoulders while Cassandra and Eugene where beside Blondie, asking her questions.

" Wait, how did you even know that (y/n) likes Varian? How come she didn't tell me?"

" I'm so sorry Eugene, but we both know that you're bad at keeping secrets."

" This again?" Eugene grumbled. "Well all right, just this once i'll let it pass."

" Well, when did she tell you?" Cassandra asked, trying to move this conversation on.

"Just the other day ago, after she had that picnic with Varian. She entered my room, her cheeks totally red and told me she couldn't bear it anymore. She had to tell someone about how she felt about him so she approached me."

"Then?"

"Basically, she told me how she loved everything about him."

Moving on to Varian and you, the both of you were still poking fun at each other every time any of the two of you fell. The both of you laughed and didn't seem to care that you both look like insane people right now.

As the both of you began to calm down, there was this lingering question at the back o your head that you wanted to ask Varian. Though you were afraid on how it'll turn out, but you decided to do it anyway, since you couldn't get it out of your head.

"Hey Varian, there was something I wanted to ask you." You said as you stopped skating.

"What is it?"

"Did you really do all of this, for me?" You ask, wondering what his answer would have been.

"Well, yeah. I made this all for you. You don't know how much I spent my nights just to make this for you." He came closer as your heart began to race. 

"I did this because...

you are my closest friend."

He said with a smile on his face.

Your smile faded away. You were expecting a different answer from that. You thought this was his grand romantic gesture for you. Turns out it wasn't and you couldn't help but feel a little disappointed from that.

"Well maybe I shouldn't have kept your hopes up." You said to yourself.

"Hey (Y/N), is everything okay?" Varian asked.

"Yeah, yeah. Thanks for all of this by the way. I'm just gonna sit down on the bench for a while, I feel a little bit tired." You said as you skated away from him.

His friends didn't notice what just happened. 

Varian was left alone.

What you didn't know was he actually really did like you. He just couldn't jeopardize your friendship right now. He thought to himself that what if you didn't like him? Everything that you had would fall apart and that would be worst than not having you as his girlfriend. He couldn't bear losing you for his own desires. He didn't want that.

But now, he didn't know what to do after you left him on the ice.

Did he make a mistake?

He sighed.
