Its officially summer time. No school, booty shorts, tube tops, pools open, and lastly summer fairs. Im curious to see what summer will bring. Jacky went to her sisters for the week, taking Luis with. Willy doing some Santos stuff and fixing cars and me doing what normal teenagers do. Swim. Jasmine thought that it was a good idea for us to go out and have some girls time. Today, it was pool day. The pool was open and im ready. I put on my two piece bathing suit, some shorts and flip flops.

"Previously on Monse... Monse didn't know if she was into Cesar or on the outs, but either way it was annoying. What will she do? Put down her phone or continue being lame as hell?" I laughed as I soaked in the sun, laying down.

"Sorry. Just want to make sure hes okay on the home front." She mumbles.

"So hes got daddy issues and you have mommy issues, but if you dont stay away you're gonna have baby issues." I took off my sunglasses, surprise of what Jasmine said. Them? Having kids? I dont know? I dont see it. Monse scoffs. "Girl dont you remember he betrayed you?"

"Yes I remember. You're right. cesar wasn't there for me when I was dealing with my mom, but that doesnt mean I should act the same way. If I did, I'd be a hypocrite and I dont wanna be. I wanna do the right thing."

"There's nothing wrong with that." I sat up and smiled, putting back my sunglasses on.

"Oh, i see, so you cant shove it in his face that you're the bigger person?"

"No, because we're friends, and that what friends do."

"Ooo I dont know. This feels more like girlfriend territory."

"No it does not!" I told her.

"No. No it still falls in the friend zone." Monse says. Then her phone rang. Jasmine quickly grabbed her phone and read the text.

"And you invited him to the pool? Skins out sins out!" I chuckled. "Girl you are talking one game but playing another, and I dont want to see you get burned." I saw Ruby and Jamal selling sandwiches from the end of the pool.

"Ill be back." I said as I stood up.

"And yet ms lovely dovey over-" I ignored as I walked away. I made my way to him.

"Hey Ruby." I blushed. Rubys jaw dropped as he looked at me.

"Uh hi." He stutters.

"Disgusting." Jamal shakes his head.

"Hows business?" I asked.

"Booming!" Jamal sang as he sold a sandwich. I smiled. You gotta love Jamal.

"You look good in blue." Ruby complements my swimsuit, in a very deep voice. I kneeled down.

"Hmm, yeah?" I bit my lip.

"Oh yeah."

"UGH! Get a room!" Jamal yells.

"Shut it!" Ruby looks at me. "Still down to go to the fair tonight?"

"Its a date." I kissed him. "You better win me a bear."

"Anything for you."

"Ill let you go, good luck with the business." I kissed him again and walked back to the girls. I sat back down and Jasmine and Monse looked at me. "What?"

"Y'all were gonna undress by the way you both looked at each other." Monse smiles, trying not to laugh.

"Was not!" I laughed.

"Girl look at you! He was gonna risk it." I was getting uncomfortable. I rubbed my arms. Then i saw someone I didn't wanna see. "Who you lookin-" they turned. "Carlos?" Great. He kept looking at me. "Why you starin? Tryin to catch a case?!" Jasmine yells, making him turn away.

"Thanks." I said as I hugged her.

"We gotta look out for each other."

Rubys POV

Jamal was telling me that he made out with a girl, the prophet, Kendra. How? Him? I don't believe it. I saw that Val was rubbing sunscreen on herself. The way she rubbed it against her chest. The way she shook the bottle, man oh man. The things I can do to her i- STOP! What am I doing!? I cant thinking about this here! Here! Out of all places!

"Excuse me." I got up and ran to the bathroom. I splashed water on my face. Ruben Martinez get it together! This is a public place! Snap it out! Okay game face time. I ran out and saw her again, on her phone, probably on Instagram or tik tok. The way the sun hit her, the blue bikini top made her skin tone beautiful. I cant believe I get to call her my girlfriend.

"Youre drooling."

"What! No!" I lied.

"Have you boned yet?" I sat up straight.

"Once."

"And yall have been dating for how long?" Silence.

"We almost did but Willy walked in and I think she isnt ready."

"Isnt ready my ass." Jamal looks at me. "Make a move, a nice light up room, romantic music in the background, locked doors and BAM!" I jumped as he clapped his hands. "You both can go like theres no tomorrow." He stares at me, reading me. "You haven't done it yet."

"Im not talking about my sex life with Val with you." OF COURSE WE HAVENT! WE HAVENT EVEN TALKED ABOUT IT! ONLY THAT ONE TIME!

Vals POV

"Can I get some of that on my back?" Monse asks me.

"I got it." Cesar said as he walks in. Monse smile and I nodded. Of course you do. Then that smile faded when I saw Spooky. Im not gonna sit here with him.

"Im going in." I said as I took off my shorts.

"Im hittin the pool." I groaned. Val, just stay away from him, everything will be fine.

"Oh do a cannonball!" Jasmine said. I jumped in, not getting my hair wet, then here comes Spooky, jumping in. Wetting my hair. I groaned.

"Hey." He said as I was gonna swim off. "Willy told me that you think I hate you." Great. "I don't."

"Okay cool." I nodded.

"Valeria-" then Carlos shows up.

"Hey, can we talk?" I clenched my jaw.

"There's nothing to talk about." I growled. Carlos saw Spooky.

"Why are you still here? Go!" Spooky told him. "She doesn't want to talk."

"Who made you boss?." Spookys eyes filled with rage.

"And I dont want to. Leave." Carlos rolls his eyes and walks away. "Thanks." I coughed.

"Yeah." He responds. "If you got any problems with him, i got you."

"Thanks but I got it handled." He lets a chuckle out. I swam away and getting away from the awkward conversation. I swam to the edge where Ruby was. "Wanna get in?"

"Hes on duty." Jamal stops him.

"Oh come on J, just for 15 minutes." I begged him.

"Ill allow it, just because i feel like a new person." He smirks. Ruby stood up. "Are you gonna ask why?"

"Dont ask why." Ruby told me.

"Why?" I was curious.

"Jamal got a make out buddy." He crossed his arms, smiling.

"I dont believe it." I shrugged. Ruby took off his shirt.

"Wha-" Jamal was offended. "It was with Kendra."

"The prophet?"

"Just- 15 minutes!" Jamal ignored me and looked at Ruby. He jumps in and we swam.

"This is good." I said as I wrapped my arms around him.

"Just you and me." He bit his lip.

"And half of Freeridge." I joked. "Have I ever told you how lucky i am to have you?"

"No you haven't." I bit my lip, touching his cheeks.

"Well you're gonna hear it for the rest of you life." I kissed him. I smirked and pulled him under the water with me. As we came up for air we laughed.

"Have you ever done that?" I shook my head.

"No." I laughed. I saw Rubys scar, I brushed my thumb over it. He brushes my hair out of the way. We both looked at each other. "Just kiss me." We started to make out, nobody was even paying attention.

"Val, i-" Ruby pulls back and looks at me. "I-" then out of nowhere lettuce was thrown at us. "Jamal!"

"Ive been calling you from the end of the pool!"

"What makes you think we can hear you with the chaos?"

"I dont know! Sorry to interrupt the make out sesh, but I need your help." Ruby looks at me.

"Go, Rubys Festivities are waiting." He gave me one last kiss and got out of the pool.  I swam back to where Jasmine and the rest were. I jumped out and dried my hair.

"I call it." Jasmine hums.

"Call what?" I sat down next to her.

"You and Ruby are gonna expect soon." I turned red since Cesar, Monse EVEN Spooky heard.

"Jasmine!" I blurted out. After tan a bit, and listening to my own music. It was nice but i saw some people throwing up. It was disgusting. Spooky joined tanning with me. At least he was quiet.

"Can you put some sunscreen on my back?" Jasmine sits up and hands Monse the bottle. Then a kid threw up on Jasmine. I jumped hella quick. Spooky Grabs me and my stuff and we ran out. Everyone was screaming and running away. Everyone was throwing up.
