"Carne!"
Wilfredo yelled from his room as i asked him what he wanted from the taqueria.

"Ill be back in a few then!" I grabbed my keys and walked out. It was a beautiful day, the sun was out, kids were playing soccer. Im just glad to be back home. Soccer camp was fun but i wanted to be home, hangout with boys. Plus im super tired, i came home yesterday at 5 am. I walked about 3 blocks to the taqueria. I opened the door and smelled the fresh, greasy food on the grill, the cold air coming from the air conditioner.

"Aye, que bonita!" I smiled at the girl.

"Hola Jacky." I leaned against the counter top.

"Hows your brother?" Jacky and Wilfredo have been dating for a while. Shes a sweet girl but she likes to talk, a lot.

"Hes good." She pulled out her paper.

"What you want?"

"2 tacos of carne asada and a coke cola bottle."

"To go?" I nodded. I gave her the cash and waited. The bell rang when the door opened. "Oh hell, its these ninos again!" Jacky yelled to the crew. I turned around. 4 boys sat down on a table and looked at me. "Dont bother, we tried taking them out of here."

"They just need is a big wack in the head." Jacky handed me my food and i walked towards the door.

"Hey mamacita!" They whistled. I sighed and left. I walked another 3 blocks home. Older men whistled and cat called me. Which was disgusting. I made it home, i saw Mario packing boxes in his car.

"Hey! Mario!" I waved at him.

"Hey, you!" We hugged. "How was, uh soccer camp?"

"Mmm,it was okay. Mildly life changing." Mario looked up and down.

"I can see that." I took the hint why and I covered my chest.

"You can? How?" I asked him, knowing the answer.

"You just Look," Marios eyes fell down, and then looked at my eyes.

"I got contacts now."

"Yeah thats why you look different." He chuckled. "I probably have to go before traffic hits." He pointed down the road.

"No prob. Good luck at Cal." I gave him another hug.

"Thanks." I got onto the sidewalk and Mario was about to get into his car. "And you, keep an eye on Ruby? Don't know what that kid's gonna do without me."

"You got it." I smiled and walked in my house. "I have to go." Willy came out and licked his lips after he saw the tacos.

"Orientation?"

"Yeah. Do i look okay? I want to look good in my id." I posed.

"You look good."

"Alright, gotta bounce."

"Wait, wait, you going by yourself?"

"No, Monse, Jamal and Ruby are going." I crossed my arms.

"What about Cesar?" I rolled my eyes.

"After what he said about Monse? Forget him. Plus him joining the Santos!"

"Its not like you-" i gave him the death stare. "Go, you're gonna be late." I gave him a kiss and went out the door. I arrived at Rubys and the guys came out.

"Hey guys!" I smiled. Ruby stared down and looked up.

"You got boobs." Monse told me.

"So did you." We hugged. "How was camp?"

"Boring. What about you?"

"Hated it." We both laughed. Jamal gave me hug.

"Hey girl."

"Hey Jamal." We started to walk.

"Valeria, do you know anything about the Cesar thing."

"Monse, i love you, but Im not gonna say anything." She rolled her eyes.

"Stop being bitches and tell me.
What happened with Cesar? This silent treatment will only last so long." We walked and she yelled at us.

"I will break you. Come on. There's no way Cesar did anything on purpose to destroy our crew. He's the glue of our crew."

"That was then, and this is now." Jamal spoke up.

"Yeah, Cesar ain't shit." Ruby rolled his eyes.

"Shit, Prophets. Be cool." I said to the crew.

"Ditch your colors." Monse told ruby. Ruby took off his black sweater.

"Damn it.Did I just jack my do?" Ruby said as he touched his hair.

"Yeah." Ruby pulled out his phone to check on his hair.

"Code dread. Code dread.Approaching on your six." We looked behind and saw Jasmine.

"Yo! You guys going to orientation? Hey, you know my cousin Berto, the fine one, hey? His daughter Letty said it ain't nothing, unless you're stupid and can't spell your name.
And then you hold up the line and then people get mad." We started to speed walk. "Hey, why are you guys walking so fast? You know I can't keep up. I have asthma."

"Sorry, Jasmine, we're having a private convo." I told her.

"Real sensitive stuff. Catch you next time."

"That's what you always say." We actually ran away from her. She almost caught up to us but didnt.

"Man, she is relentless." We all panting. "Nice save."

"Oh, you're not safe." Monse is still hung up on that?

"Your threats aren't penetrating, okay? I'm not telling you what Cesar said." Jamal spilled.

"Ah ha! So, he said something!"

"Jamal!" Me and Ruby said.

"Do you need a muzzle? Monse, no offense, but you're a loose cannon."

"We're not telling you for your own protection."Ruby told her.

"My own protection? Eat a dick." She got close to him.

"Case in point. You don't even know, and you're already at Defcon Solange."

"Don't look." I saw someone getting beat up.. "Keep walking."

"Why would anyone want to get jumped into 19th Street? If it were me, I'd join First Street, only one second of pain."

"Agreed. And who wants a lifetime of commitment at our age?"

"Apparently, neither of you.Lack of commitment seems to be a noticeable trend in this friendship. As does lack of personal space!" Monse pushed us away. We heard music from behind. We looked, its was Spooky and Cesar.

"We can't tell you what Cesar said." I told her.

"Fine. Then I'll ask myself." Monse steps on to the road and almost got hit by Spooky.

"Hey! You crazy!?"After 5 minuets of Monse talking to Oscar, they left. Both Diaz brothers looked at me. Ruby puts his sweater around Monse.

"When did Oscar get out?" Monse asked.

"Six weeks ago." I told her.

"Now it makes sense.Whatever Cesar said, he said to impress Oscar.Cesar's terrified of his brother."

"Along with everyone else." Jamal whispered.

"Then who cares what he said."

"Oh, just drop it." I raised my voice.

"Do I look like I can just drop it?"

"Actually, you do.You just won't."

"Tax time, bitches!" We all stopped and turned around.

"Shit, Latrelle." We all said.

"Hands up, money out." He order us.

"How can we take money out with our hands up?" Rubys smartass comment.

"I know you bookheads got that back-to-school gwop." Latrelle said.

"It's orientation day.So technically, we're neither back to school nor out of school." I puffed.

"We don't have any money." Ruby told him. Then Jamal had to speak.

"What about that 20?" We all turned to Jamal. Ruby didnt break eye contact with Jamal and handed Latrelle the 20. "At least you finally got your own room." Jamal shyly smiled.
