"My letters are for when I don't want to be in love anymore. They're for good-bye. Because after I write in my letter, I'm not longer consumed by my all-consuming love...My letters set me free. Or at least they're supposed to."

Jenny Han, To All the Boys I've Loved Before

synopsis !

Romantic comedies made it seem so easy. The meet-cute; the lighthearted, cliche interactions; the happily ever after.

Adira Jade Khan grew up on a healthy diet of those romantic comedies, paired with a helping of romance novels and plenty of daydreaming. Of course, she wanted to live in a rose-tinted world. Adira Jade wanted to believe in fate, magic, and cinematic love stories — but, she was sure that she'd never really have one of her own.

She'd fallen in love a few times in the sixteen years on this Earth, crushes born of fantasies she constructed in her mind. The best way to deal with those feelings (other than telling the person which...yeah she didn't really consider that an option) was to write a letter. A completely honest, slightly rambling, letter where she gushed her feelings, then sealed them away forever.

That's thing is: the letters were never supposed to be sent. So, when they are, Adira Jade's life was sent into a whirlwind of fake dating, complicated feelings, and twists that she didn't quite see coming. Adira Jade comes to realise that it's time to finally stop wishing and dreaming of romance, and start living it instead.

author's note !

Sooo I rewatched and started rereading To All the Boys I've Loved Before and I thought what if there was a sapphic version of this?? Don't get me wrong, I love the original, but my little bisexual heart needed this plus it's Valentine's Day month so it's perfect timing! That being said, the plot is completely inspired by Jenny Han's work, so all credit to her. The characters are also loosely based on her characters, but I did make some changes obviously.

Anyways, thank you for reading and enjoy!!!
