⇢˚⋆ ✎ ˎˊ-the one where kat and stanley make a deal !
katherine riviera held a satisfied smile atop of her slightly chapped lips as a cloud of light smoke flowed from where her lips now parted.her position making her cough lightly, her back was meet with the hard relief of floorboard while her legs rested on the patterned couch.a joint perfectly balanced in her once shaky hand.
none other then the towns local 'stoner' was sprawled out next to her, giving into his reputation.if kat's mind was in the right place she was sure she would wonder if he actually knew he had a reputation in the first place.
she needed a smoke session.desperately.unwanted memories where beginning to make their way back into her mind, added to a list of infinite reasons of why her life was a total 'shit show'.
in a matter of what seemed like faint seconds the two teens where erupting into fits of giggles, along with small coughs from slightly choking on the smoke they so desperately needed to activate the pure and satisfying feeling of being on their highs.
it didn't take long for odd topics to come up,first kat had presented the idea 'who put the alphabet in alphabetical order?'.and somewhere amongst all of the wacky ideas their polluted minds came up with the topic of sex had come up.
"why does it always have to involve feelings?that just fucks me over more than any girl or guy ever could,"the dark haired girl huffed, she looked relaxed.her expression not matching her words.
"exactly!"stanley agreed with a contagious smile,he sat up slowly,as if it helped him to build up his chosen response, "like-like...why can't you just do it,shake hands, and then go your separate ways."
"it's like playing ping pong.."kat began, her finger nail (which was polished with a dark red color that was chipped away at)began to lightly tap on her head.
the statement alone caused stanley to turn his head, hair full of light curls following in suit as he looked to the girl beside him.however, his face held full attentiveness and eagerness to hear what she had to say.no judgment or confusion was shown and it caused kat to simply smile.
stanley was quick to take this into consideration, twirling the newly unlit joint in his hand like some sort of baton, "it's just a game...ya shake hands and then get on with your shit,"he found himself agreeing with her once more.beginning to gradually get hyped for what seemed like no apparent reason.
hazel eyes made way to the unlit joint as she stumbled to stand up,finding her surroundings to slightly spin at the sudden action. "lighter?,"she hummed as she began to shuffle her way to the shelf where the bright blue lighter sat.
stanley didn't say anything in response.instead his mind settled on an idea, slowly drawing it out in a haze.and then it hit him.why did you have to have a label to be able to do the so called 'deed'.why couldn't you simply be friends or at least acquaintances.
he seemed fixated on that idea for a moment, until kat knelt down beside him, holding out the lighter that had a light flame already going, motioning for him to go ahead.he figured that if he were to present the concept to anyone it would be the girl beside him.
it made sense.they both had fucked up things going on in their life, they sometimes spilt it out during their sessions.plus kat happened to be one of his clients, one he even considered his friend.
the curly haired male hadn't realized that he had been staring at the girl with dilated eyes.it caused her to furrow her brows in an confused manner. "let's play ping pong,"he stated,it sounded like he was on edge of solving some great problem.
kat just stared at him blankly, blinking a few times. "huh,"her voice showed obvious signs that she had no clue what he was talking about.
"let's do it like we're playing ping pong,"stanley simply said.kat's mouth made an o shape, realization slowly sinking in as she cleared her throat. "so like friends with benefits?"she questioned.
stanley knew part of the reason he was presenting this idea was because he was high as a kite, though kat didn't mind because she was too. "yeah...yeah!i mean unless it sounds totally just stupid to you becau-"
"fùck it.lets play ping pong.just no feelings attached?"
"no feelings attached."
and so a deal was stuck between the two.another coping mechanism to add to the teenagers check lists.another way to distract themselves from their problems.a solution that would later turn into a source of conflict.
