For blythering
Dear Lydia,
Okay, first of all, sorry about not writing over the summer, my stupid mother has been monitoring all my letters and communication. Isn't that just the most annoying thing you've ever heard? Anyways, how are you? I am writing this from the train. James and Moony are asleep and I have no idea where Peter is but honestly, I don't really care.
Have you heard anything about the war? I've been keeping away from the Daily Prophet because I don't really care to see my family slandered. Like, it's fine if I do it but the reporters don't know them, they have no idea what they're like.
I didn't mean to be a downer there, I guess I'm just readjusting to not having to see them until summer comes back around.
How was your summer? I've really been missing you, Lydia. More than usual, actually, which is strange, but I suppose not really, we usually write over the summer.
I've been planning new pranks for when we get back to school. I was thinking of finding some way to change all the Slytherins ties and robes to Gryffindor red but James vetoed that. Apparently, that might give the impression we want them to be in Gryffindor. Moony agreed so I guess we're not doing that. Do you have any ideas because, I swear, you're just as creative as me when it comes to pranks?
Have you given much thought to your plans after school? I was thinking of getting a flat in London, maybe we could live together? That would be really cool, Lydia. We could go out and get food, ignite prank wars, it could be the most fun ever.
Well, I really hope you are doing well. Write back soon with a prank idea because James wants to do one the first week of classes. Something big though, Lydia.
Your Best Friend,
Sirius
