STEP 4: FLOWERS

After that amazing da- hangout. It's a hangout, he had to read step 4 of the pamphlet.

"Step 4. You're almost there! 1 more step to go! Make sure to do step 4 and 5 all in one day! Go out and get some sun! Along with flowers and give them to your lover!" Donghyuck hated going outside. And it was going to rain all day, too.

Oh well, he was so close to getting Mark. So it's worth it.

Donghyuck went to grab his coat when all of a sudden, "Where are you going?" Taeyong asked. And everyone knew he never ever let anyone out in the rain. Other than Jisung, but only because he is the youngest. He doesn't want them to get sick at any costs.

"U-Um, to the store..?"

"But we don't need anything."

"I was going to get my favorite candy."

"But we have Skittles here."

"I'm going to hang out with Jay. He works there." He wasn't going there for Jay. Not until he gets Mark, anyways.

"You will not get any rain on you back in. Got it?" And Taeyong let it pass. Even through his stupid and obviously fake lies, he did it. The younger just hoped Mark wouldn't notice.

Bur Mark did. "Taeyong, where's Donghyuck?" panicked Mark.

"He went to the store."

"But you don-"

"Yes, I don't allow them to go. I could see through his stupid lies, but let him go anyway."

"He never told me anything!" Taeyong sighed at the younger's words. He was seriously done.

"Listen, it's probably a surprise, leave it at that. Now shoo, A Dog's Purpose is about to come on." Mark listened (for once) and left to his room. What even was the surprise.

Mark bet it was bringing Jay home.

"Hello there! I don't know why you'd want to be here in the rain, but welcome." A florist greeted. There was an array of flowers each in different colors.

"Is there any carnations available?"

"Yes sir! Follow me over here." The florist skipped happily to a certain section which was a spectrum of colors.

"Ah, there's so many..."

"If you want some symbolism, ask me anything."

"I don't need any symbolism, but may I have the pink and red carnations ma'am?" She nodded as Donghyuck stared lovingly at the flowers.

"You should give them to someone you love. It's going to be real important for them." The girl reminded Donghyuck to give them to Mark. He grew a bit scared. Maybe Mark never liked him in the first place. What if he was grossed out?

What if they slowly grow apart?

"Well I already was planning to give them to this boy I like... I hope he says yes to me." said Donghyuck shyly.

"Aw, that's adorable. I'm wishing you luck, I hope you get him!" Donghyuck smiled at how optimistic the florist seemed. As he payed, he went back to the dorms. He hoped Mark wouldn't notice.

Immediately, Jaehyun and Taeyong turned to the younger as a random movie was playing. "Mark was looking for you earlier. He was down a bit, too. He's somewhere around here."

"Yeah yeah, sorry to interrupt your cuddle time or whatever. I'm going to my room." Donghyuck waved the two off and left, leaving Jaehyun to talk to the eldest on how his attitude suddenly changed.

He sat the flowers in the corner of the room, making sure to hide it in a more secure place later. "Lee Donghyuck! Where were you this morning?"

"At the store..?"

"What did you get?" Make a bullshit lie like everything else.

"Just some chips. That's all."

"Did you go to see Jay?" scoffed Mark.

"Hmm? No, he seemed busy so I left him."

"So you two didn't talk..?" Donghyuck was really wondering why he was acting like this.

"No, how about you make me something." He really needed to escape the scene. Right now.

"Why? You just got chips?" Donghyuck tried to do his best puppy eyes his and Mark couldn't help but leave. In disgust, but at least he left.

As the older left to the kitchen, Donghyuck ran to Sicheng and Yuta's shared room. "Hey, can I hide some flowers in here? Thanks." Donghyuck sat the flowers behind the bed. And Sicheng along with Yuta was actually really confused.

As he sat on the bed, he planned a time to show the flowers. Hopefully Mark likes them. Maybe not, but there is a chance. A small one at that. He had to try, at least. The worst one? Maybe that anything can go.

Something bad can happen, something great can happen. It's only in the future. Mark came in with some popcorn. Wow, unprofessional.

"You brought me popcorn?"

"To eat, yeah." Donghyuck was a tiny bit disappointed that this was the guy he liked. Somehow, he liked the laziest and not to mention stupid dude he has ever met.

"You can't even cook?"

"So you want the house to burn down?"

"Good point."

"Can we share it? I'm starving."

"You could have bought something for me, y'know."

"Whatever, just put on a movie. I'm bored." Donghyuck giggled at Mark's words.

But if he is really stupid, then he's Donghyuck's stupid boyfriend.

Well, he wishes.
