OUTFIT AT THE TOP

Veronika and Malia stay at the school to study in the library while Scott, Stiles, Lydia and Kira all go to Eichen House. Theo then walks up to the table Veronika and Malia are at and he sits down next to Veronika and across from Malia. "Page turner?" Theo asks Malia and she glances at Veronika. "Uh. Not exactly." Malia replies. "Neither is this." Theo says and holds up his precalculus book and Veronika chuckles. He then takes one hand and puts it on Veronika's thigh making her jump slightly hitting the table and Malia looks at her weirdly. Malia then notices the soft look Theo gives Veronika and she furrows her brows. About an hour later Malia starts to pack up her things and looks at Veronika. "I'm leaving. Do you want to come with me?" Malia asks Veronika and she shakes her head and Malia walks away. "Why'd you stay here? Why didn't you go with the rest of them to Eichen?" Theo asks her and Veronika chuckles "Because if I went there I would have ended up killing someone and you know how Scott feels about that." Veronika tells him and he laughs. Veronika then grabs his keys packing up her stuff and starts to walk away but she sees that Theo isn't following her so she turns around "You coming love or are you just going to walk home?" Veronika asks while smirking and Theo chuckles "God you're going to be the death of me." Theo whispers to himself.

Before they enter into Theo's truck Veronika sees Malia in the middle of the road in a trance like state. Veronika sees a car coming and speeds over to her grabbing her arm before the car hits her. "Mal, what's wrong? What were you doing?" Veronika asks her softly while they're on the ground, Malia wrapped up in her arms. "It was her.. She was there." Malia whispers and Veronika glances at Theo before looking back at Malia. "Who was there?" Veronika asks and Malia looks up at her. " The desert wolf." Malia says softly and Veronika sighs. "You want a ride to your house?" Theo asks Malia and she shakes her head. "I'll walk I gotta clear my head." Malia says and she walks off. Theo then helps Veronika up and leads her towards his truck and they get in and she starts to drive to her house. As they're driving down the road Veronika is gripping the wheel tightly making her knuckles turn white and Theo grabs her hand. "You okay?" Theo asks her and Veronika sighs "Yeah I'm just worried about Malia." Veronika tells him before she slams on the breaks and gets out of the car.  She's looking around and she sees Mikael coming towards her with a white oak stake in his hand. "NO! MIKAEL NO PLEASE!" Veronika yells.  She's then pulled down to the ground by Theo and she lays in his arms. "Luna. Talk to me what happened?" Theo asks her softly. "Mikael was here... He was going to kill me." Veronika says softly with tears running down her face. "He's not here. You're okay." Theo whispers to her and he kisses her forehead.

"So, basically we're looking for anyone with abnormal behavior?" Theo asks as he, Scott and Veronika are looking at the other students upstairs. "Yeah, anyone acting a little off or weird." Scott says and Veronika scoffs "Everyone in this bloody school is weird." Veronika says and Scott and Theo look at her and nod. "Yeah good point." Scott says and chuckles before they start to make their way downstairs. "Uh guys you remember Tracy went on a killing spree after reading that book right." Theo tells them and Scott and Veronika nod "You think it's a bad idea?" Scott questions. "I mean I think Malia and Veronika almost getting hit by cars could've been bad.." Theo trails off and Veronika hums. "That's why you guys haven't finished reading it right?" Theo asks and Scott sighs "We're going too." Scott tells him. "Guys look I came here looking to find a pack.. I wasn't planning on watching one fall apart." Theo says and Scott and Veronika look at each other and sigh. "Look the book's all we got." Scott says. "Then I guess I'll read it too." Theo says and Scott looks at him with wide eyes and Veronika looks at him shocked and she walks away leaving Scott and Theo alone. "So I have a weird question." Theo says and looks at Scott. "What's up." Scott says. "What's the deal with Veronika and Liam?" Theo asks and Scott looks at him and chuckles "Liam and Veronika protect each other no matter what." Scott tells him and Theo nods and They both walk to class.

"My mom's book club usually has more wine." Lydia says looking around stopping at Veronika who's hold a wine glass. "Oh uh this isn't wine." Veronika says and Lydia rolls her eyes. "Well they probably don't read books that cause hallucinations.." Stiles trails off. "That's why Veronika and Malia are here." Scott tells him. "So none of us go running into traffic?" Kira questions and Malia, Theo and Veronika glance at each other. "Or worse." Scott says and Malia nods "Like what happened to Judy." Malia says and everyone but Veronika looks at her confused. "Chapter fourteen." Veronika explains and they all nod. "Maybe I should have my mom read it. She might remember a girl with a giant tail jumping off the ceiling attacking people." Lydia says "That's if it works." Veronika says and Lydia sighs "It has to.. I think I saw them during my surgery. It's almost like... "Lydia trails off. "A memory trying to surface." Theo says and they all glance at him. "Yeah like that." Lydia says. "Is that what Valack wanted when he wrote the book?" Kira questions and everyone nods. "If they did something to me. I want to know what they did." Lydia says and they all start to read the book.

A little while later Stiles and Veronika are in the kitchen. "What happened to you?" Veronika asks him and he looks at her confused "What do you mean?" Stiles asks and Veronika puts her hand on his shoulder and Stiles hisses in pain. "I smell the blood what happened?" Veronika asks and Stiles looks around before moving his shirt to show Veronika where Donovan bit him. "Malia left me at the school because I fell asleep and when I woke up and went to leave but my jeep stalled out so I went to fix it and Donovan showed up and bit my shoulder and I hit him with a wrench and I ran into the library and Donovan followed me and he started saying all these things about my dad and he kept trying to attack me. I climbed up the scaffolding and he tried to grab me so I pulled a pin and all these pipes started following down and one went through him and killed him. I went back out to my jeep to hide but then I ran back in and his body was just gone." Stiles explains to her while the others were reading. "It was self defense Sti." Veronika tells him and he scoffs slightly "Scott won't see it that way." Stiles says shaking his head. "Then I'll beat his ass if he says otherwise." Veronika tells him and they both chuckle. Veronika then walks back into the living room and sees everyone but asleep. She then notices Kira and Theo are both missing so she walks up the stairs and sees Kira asleep in Scott's room and Theo leaning over her with his phone out. Veronika then hears Kira whispering something in Japanese. Theo then gets up and stops when he sees Veronika leaning on the wall smirking "So you're recording people in their sleep now?" Veronika asks while whispering and Theo chuckles slightly walking over to her and putting his arm around her. "I'll explain later. lets get you home." Theo says to her and kisses her lips softly.

The Next day, Theo and Veronika are sitting next to each other in AP Bio and they're writing down notes. "While introducing the African Can Toad sounded like a good way to deal with Australia's infestation of the grey backed beetle." Ms. Finch explains and Then Theo nudges Veronika and nods towards Sydney who's sitting in front of Lydia messing with her hair. "You think she could be one?" Theo questions and Veronika hums lightly pulling her phone out to text Lydia. "Chimera?" Veronika reads the text she gets back from Lydia and Veronika replies "Look at her hair." And Lydia looks up and sees Sydney pull out a clump of hair and she starts to freak out making Veronika and Theo look at each other. Sydney then stands up and grabs her belongings putting a drop form on the teachers desk and runs out of the classroom. "Wise decision Sydney." Ms. Finch says and Lydia and Veronika both get up to run after her. "Girls, It's for the best." Ms. Finch says and Veronika scoffs "Oh sod off." Veronika says and her and Lydia run to Natalie's office. They then see Sydney waiting in there "I was looking for your mom.. I mean Mrs. Martin." Sydney says to them. "Are you okay?" Veronika questions and Sydney looks at them with wide eyes "Does this look okay?" Sydney asks and Lydia and Veronika look at each other. "How long has this been going on?" Lydia asks and Sydney sighs "Three years.." Sydney trails off. "Have you gotten it checked out?" Lydia asks. "It's just stress. I mean I've tried everything... medication, acupuncture, hypnosis.." Sydney says. "Have you tried not taking the hardest classes in this bloody school?" Veronika questions. "Let me see if I can cover it up." Lydia says moving her hair and they see a bald spot. Lydia stares at it and gasps starting to fall back. "Lyds!" Veronika screams and catches Lydia before she could fall on the floor. "What happened? Is she okay?" Sydney asks and Veronika looks up at her "Does she look okay? Just go get Natalie." Veronika says to her and Sydney runs off. A few minutes later Scott and Theo run in and Scott crouches down next to Lydia and Veronika. "It's happening to her too, isn't it?" Scott questions and Veronika nods. A few seconds later Lydia wakes up. "God Lydia, are you okay?" Veronika asks her. "I'm fine.. I'm okay." Lydia says and Theo crouches down next to them, "You remembered something didn't you?" Theo asks and Lydia nods. "But not about the Dread Doctors or anything about them or the surgery." Lydia says and Veronika helps her sit up slightly "It was about my grandmother at Eichen House." Lydia says and Veronika nods bringing her closer to her. "Lydia!" Natalie yells as she runs into the office. "Lydia? What happened. Are you okay?" Natalie asks her and Lydia nods her head "I'm fine mom. It was nothing." Lydia tells her. "Was it a black out? Did you faint?" Natalie questions and Lydia nods "I fainted mom, I'm fine I promise." Lydia tells her and Natalie looks at Veronika "She's alright Nat." Veronika tells her and she nods.

Veronika was in the bleachers with Mason and Brett watching Liam practice but she sees that he's watching Hayden practice as well. "I don't know man. Everyone at Devenford's pretty abnormal to me." Brett explains and Veronika chuckles and looks towards him "Everyone but you love." Veronika tells him and she smirks making Brett push her slightly before grabbing her and wrapping his arm around her bringing her closer to him. "All right. What else are we looking for? There's heightened strength, smell, hearing, speed, able to see in the dark, glowing eyes, eyes the reflect the light, visible scorpion stingers protruding out of limbs..." Mason trails off and Brett and Veronika nod. "Yeah.. Or three -foot lizard tails." Veronika says before they all look at the field to see Liam launch a lacrosse ball only for it to go right past the goal and he looks at Hayden who kicks a soccer ball right into the goal making Liam launch another ball making it in the goal and this goes on for several minutes. "What's up with those two? I haven't seen Liam act like this since he met me." Veronika asks and Mason chuckles "Sixth grade- It wasn't the best year for Liam's anger management issues and there was a fight in the hallways and Hayden accidentally walks into it and this is her yearbook photo." Mason says showing Brett and Veronika her yearbook photo and Veronika chuckles. "Damn." Brett says. "So what did she do to him?" Veronika asks and Mason swipes over and shows a picture of Liam with a broken nose and they all laugh. "Alrighty boys I must be going." Veronika says leaning over kissing Mason on his head moving over to Brett and kissing his cheek making him blush. She walks down the bleachers but before she can move any further a student comes running out. "Does anyone have an inhaler?" the student yells making Liam and Veronika look at each other. "Scott.." Veronika mumbles before grabbing the extra inhaler out of her bag and her and Liam run off to find Scott. "Move out of the way children!" Veronika yells pushing kids out of her way. Veronika and Liam find Scott and they both slide onto the floor. Veronika grabs Scott's face "Scott.. Hey buddy come on." She says shaking him but nothing works so she looks at Liam "Alright we're gonna glow our eyes." She whispers and Liam nods. They both look towards Scott glowing their eyes. "Scott." They both say and Scott takes a deep breath before grabbing the inhaler out of Veronika's hand before taking a puff. Veronika sighs in relief. "You good now?" Veronika asks Scott and he nods. "Thanks Ronnie." Scott says.
