It was the sixth month mark of (Y/N) still having not woken up, the clan didn't give up hope and neither did Jake. Toruka had pulled Jake to the side and told him that the village had something planned for him tonight and to bring the others with him.

The villagers who once wouldn't come out of their homes and only say hello from the safety net of their huts, were now all back out running around the village as the schools opened back up for the children; the atmosphere was back to peace.

Many people would come and pay their respects as they left flowers and prayed to Eywa for (Y/N) to be at peace wherever she might be. The villages healers never gave up on her as well, the princess was still alive and the way they explained it to the family was that her soul and mind weren't connecting and agreeing with one another what to do. They kept her alive and that is all Jake, and the others, could ask them to do.

The sky a once grey, dark hue was now a cloudless blue as the dragons had come back from their migration with new litter of babies and new stories. The war was over—the time of agony was gone and with Äoa stepping down as Olo'eyktan and passing it over to Ay'u, despite his disagreements, the clan had a new path of hope.

Ay'u visited Jake as often as he could, the two would sit and he would tell him about how (Y/N) was in love with Jake and would do anything for his three kids. He said that she was selfless and he knew that before the two even got close, they would become more than just friends.

Iwa stopped coming around for awhile, he felt guilty even though he had no reason to. He had a lot of responsibilities back home to make sure everyone was okay, but Jake sought him out and the two apologized for something neither one of them needed to. The two went alone to visit (Y/N) and Iwa broke down seeing his best friend lying there in a coma and unresponsive. It was scary to see the once calm and collective princess so out of life.

Lo'ak, Kiri and Tuk took it hard, they looked up to her as not only as a friend but as a mother figure. No matter how many times (Y/N) promised to never take Ney'tiris spot, she became their mother anyway. It was deja vu all over again for the three, watching someone who cherished them like their own blood lying in their own blood had them questioning Eywa.

When Äoa and Sänume came to visit, they were surprised that Jake had been there the whole night cleaning her wounds that reopened a bit and even giving her medicine she was supposed to have every few hours.

"Are we disturbing?" Äoa asked after he cleared his voice to get the other's attention.

Jake turned, his fingers swiping at his tears before shaking his head, standing at the same time and moving over so her parents could see their daughter. "No, I apologize. I didn't realize you would be coming."

His words had sarcasm lingering in the background of them. Sänume knew there was tension, it doesn't take a genius to tell the difference between genuine and sour. "It was sudden, between losing two children you blame yourself." Sänume spoke first, her hand resting on Jakes forearm in a silent thank you for all he had done.

That was the last time Jake really did speak with them.

Now, with everyone all settled in an unknown area that was lit up by torches, plants that were pulsing with every breath they took, birds overtop and singers running to find their places, Jake ushered them over to Ay'u who hd a spot for them.

"I'm glad you are here," Ay'u said as he hugged the four of them. "Toruka had been planning this for awhile for you all." Behind the group was one of the biggest dragons Jake had seen, he didn't remember its name but he seen it during the fight with Quaritch and that was all it took for Jake to have a lot of respect for him.

Toruka stood ahead of them, she was in a ceremonial attire with Sänume next to her holding her hand. The duo was welcoming everyone and holding conversations with the singers of the clan while Toruka made sure everyone was present.

Jake remembered when many villagers lost their homes and came asking for sanctuary with the Ash Tribe. Ay'u agreed and the hunters and workers got to work making more homes for them. Iwa said the sacrifice letting him and his kids reside here opened a new door for many families to feel welcomed, and with Ay'u as the Olo'eyktan it was in a good path now.

"What exactly is going?" Jake said to Ay'u. The brother turned and shook his finger. "I can not tell you, you just have to trust me." Jake did trust him so he rolled his eyes playfully and patted him on the back.

The pain the two felt was shared, running deep in their bones but since they were together in that traumatic moment they found comfort together and healed. "I do trust you, I just hate surprises."

Ay'u rolled his eyes and looked up to the sky before placing a kiss on his fingers and then holding them up, it was for his two siblings with two stars shining brightly down on them. "Toruka—go ahead."

Toruka nodded her head and held her arms out for everyone. "My brothers and sisters, tonight as you all know marks the sixth month of our princess still not waking up, but when I visited her she said she wants you all to know she is okay and to not fear."

Jake felt his heart tighten a bit. He wanted so desperately to see hear and tell her he was sorry for not getting to her in time, but Toruka explained that she refused to see anyone because right now she needed to focus on this battle herself. He understood, but he wanted to hear it.

"But tonight is the night of welcoming new births and old loves. Every six months we welcome new people into our homes, past members who left and returned and new births. But tonight is special.. Jake, Tuktirey, Lo'ak and Kiri please come." Only certain members of the clan knew what was happening. To Jakes eyes it was an initiation he assumed, they were still new to the clan even if they had been there for awhile.

With the ground shaking below them and everyone now holding their arms and starting to move in synchronized motions, the five of them were off just a bit to a distance so no one would get hurt as the dragon followed in suit with them.

"What is happening?" He asked.

"Do you trust me?" Toruka responded right away, her eyes covered by veil that resembled droplets of tears.

"Yes."

"Then rest right here, whatever do you do not chase the rabbit when you concentrate." Toruka spoke in that dialect that only she could understand, but he nodded and sat down.

Beneath their feet was pulsing a blue when each of his kids were seated next to one another and their queues were attached to the ground. Lo'ak and Tuk were excited but a bit worried and Kiri seemed to finally understand what was really going on—and her eyes watered with anticipation.

The dragon moved to them and opened its mouth ti shoot a line of fire around them and then right in front of them. The chant said by the people was becoming louder and louder, the clouds were spinning and their queues got a bit tighter that Jake had to calm himself and the others down to not detach from the ground. It was like the ground was feeding off from their energy and into the flames that the dragon had burned.

The clouds disappeared and what Jake could describe was falling stars that glided down to just them. Tuk let out a small laugh and reached her hands out to touch while Lo'ak and Kiri were stunned at such a phenomena that was happening around them. Falling stars were real.

They were too mesmerized by the occurrence that a cough wasn't picked up by any of their ears and neither was a small 'hello'. The stars continued to fall and when a large one fell down to the center of the fire, their eyes finally dropped to watch as it washed away the flames and there laid a boy.

Neteyam.

He sat up confused, dirt was covering him like he had crawled from below Pandora and met them there. Hand on his hands and the other to brush away the dirt, he finally made eye contacr with everyone before sitting up a bit on his knees.

The Sullys were stunned to say the least. There in the flesh was Neteyam. Of course they checked the wound and it was scarred where he was wounded and that made them tear up even more. It wasn't just a dream or a vision, Neteyam was there with that same smile and dramatic effect of his hair as he turned to everyone.

"Baby bro." He said first to Lo'ak, hand moving to rest on his head as he held Tuk and Kiri in his other. Tears were fallen. Who wouldn't have cried? Neteyam cheated death and they knew he was at peace.

Jake took a moment to realize that his eldest was alive, letting the others take in the moment of the comfort from their eldest brother before he pulled the other in, tightly.

After a few moments of hugging, they all stood with the help of Toruka who introduced herself. "Your father doesn't shut up about you." She said with a chuckle, moving them back to the tree that had appeared with the birth of Neteyam.

Toruka stood in front of the tree as the clan all cheered from the boy back from the dead. There was obvious whispers and obvious talks about how it happened, but that was for another time. Neteyam was introduced to Ay'u and he told her that a certain someone couldn't be here today, but he passed on her happiness to him.

"With the birth of a new comes a lost of another. We welcome Neteyam into our world and we give thanks to Fawn for not only his sacrifice to save his family and clan, but he knew what would happen and although he isn't here with us anymore—Fawn would be very happy to know that you are the ... reincarnation of him to say the least." Toruka said to the others. The clan cheered and the others teared up, but with a ceremony comes a celebration.

So, with everyone leaving back to the village and Neteyam on Jakes back since his legs weren't well functional; they caught him up on the village they were at, the dragons and the dragon mooses. (Y/N) and how she risked her life everyday for them and would've loved to meet Neteyam, they told him about the food and how Ay'u can blow fire from his mouth. That caused Ay'u to pop out of nowhere and blow fire above them with Tuk laughing and chasing after him.

Neteyam could feel the sense of happiness and when asked about (Y/N), Jake took him to visit the girl who laid peacefully in her sisters home and told him the story of how she accepted them without any hesitation or care that their family comes from war, or that he was considered an alien. He told him what happened and told him they mated, he told him that he loved her and that Ney'tiri would always be the one for him but even she said it was time for him to move on. Neteyam understood and promised to come with him everyday to meet her.

The two stayes with (Y/N) as the party went on and Neteyam told Jake about what he experienced in the life of the in between and how he went from young to old. Living with Ney'tiri and how he saw his brother Tommy as well as many past relatives from earth, Grace, his grandfather Eytukan and aunt Sylwanin. He learned how to hunt with Tsu'tey and Eytukan taught him leadership skills. Grace was delighted to hear about Kiri and he said he meet a girl named Trudy, but he wasn't sure much about her—but Jake smiled and told him she was a fierce warrior who fought to the end.

He said Sylwanin was caring and that he would've loved to have met her and life was good there, but he wanted to return home to everyone and Jake couldn't have been happier to hear that.

Jake told Neteyam that he saw Ney'tiri one night when he was with Toruka. He told him how the night sky was covered with falling stars and he could see everyone he ever knew that passed away—how he felt the energy and when he saw Ney'tiri who was ready to move on, his heart was full and he knew he couldn't have gave up on the family just yet.

When Lo'ak came to find the duo, Jake left and kissed the two on the head and left the boy alone. Lo'ak held onto (Y/N)s hand and told Neteyam that he was sorry for being stupid and getting them caught up in that situation, he said if he could've gone back and took the bullet for him he would have. Neteyam shook his head and held onto his shoulders before placing his hand on his head once more like old times.

"I never blamed you or hated you for it."

Lo'ak hugged his older brother and went on to tell him stories about (Y/N) and how yes, she was just like Lo'ak and how they got into many situations where she had to bail him out of trouble. How she defended him and Kiri from her brother Fawn who was rude, but in the end did the bravest thing ever and that was sacrificing himself for Lo'ak.

Neteyam sighed, he wished he was there and he told him he saw everything. The fight, the happiness he shared, the laughter and the sadness—he was always there. The otters was him and Ney'tiri, they knew Lo'ak needed so e reassurance they were okay and were able to come back for a quick moment in that time.

Life now was good. With it now being six months since Neteyam had returned and a year since (Y/N) fell into a coma, life had shifted drastically.

But Neteyam knew she was going to wake up one day. There was a glitch he liked to call it with everything when he came back to life and whenever someone was dying or coming back to life, he could sense it. That is why he pushed and urgently told Jake they needed to visit (Y/N) today and not a hour later—he wnated to finally meet her.

When they did meet, he leaned into her touch and apologized Fawn died for him. (Y/N) shook her head and cupped his cheeks before pressing a kiss to his forehead. "My brother does crazy things, but I know he knew what he was doing and that was doing this. I saw my brother when I was stuck, he said he was sorry and that he wished he could meet you."

The twos laughter echoed when Neteyam said he saw him briefly once rushing to the flowers and how he looked disheveled. Jake heard the laughter and immediately came in, eyes widen and heart pounding his mate was alive.

Neteyam gave her one last final hug and left the hut to give the two privacy.

"Hi," She said first, arms reaching out for the other to wrap his arms around her. "Please. It's been too long."

Jake did just that without hesitation, the basket long gone on the floor and the only thing that mattered was her in his arms as the two cried softly. Pulling back, they shared a kiss like it was the first time ever and only a cough interrupted them.

Toruka smiled and bent down to check her before ahe gave her a look to tell him. "Not now.." (Y/N) mumbled as she crossed her arms.

"Tell me what?" Jake replied, worried something had happened and no one would tell him. (Y/N) bit her lip before rubbing the back of her neck in hesitation to tell him what she wanted to do.

On one hand, the decision she wanted to do would change her life more than anything, but on another hand she wanted to do this. "I want to go home with you." She said.

Jake widen his eyes, he hadn't thought about returning to the forest of the Omatikaya and seeing everyone,  ut he had wondered if they were okay. He looked into her eyes and could tell nothing could change her thought and with a quick nod, he agreed. "Okay.."

She looked at Toruka first with her eyes widen like he would've said no and shot her arms up which caused her to flinch. "Ow—" She said with a hiss. "We can go after you healed which will be for a while.. okay?" Jake said, bringing her head to his lips for another kiss.

Jake now knew he couldn't run away from his problems and hide away places he didn't know. He had people around him who cared for him and his family, he wasn't alone anymore and life was going to be okay.

His life was full again.
