An hour after Jake and (Y/N) talked, the two decided to stay in their hiding place and talk more about who they were before they met one another. Jake learned that (Y/N) used to be a storyteller for their village, having told some of the most scariest stories and thus making her get replaced. (Y/N) learned that Jake used to be very bad at riding horses, he told her about the first time he ever rode one and failing completely, but he was a master in the sky.
"You seem to have mastered the mongoose!" She said proudly, "Not many get that far." Jake could only hope the heat of his cheeks wasn't becoming too noticeable.
When (Y/N) went to tell Jake another story, her ears flickered back as she looked up to the ceiling of the hut; cheering began to sound throughout the whole entire village as horns were sounding. "Come, come on!" (Y/N) immediately pulled the other out of the entrance as she her gaze up to the sky. "They are here!"
Jake followed the other with no second thought, his tail swishing behind him curiously as he looked up at what she was staring at, only to be greeted with many trees blocking his vision. "What is happening?" He said.
Dropping his gaze to look at the other Na'vis who had began to climb up the makeshift ladders that he seemed to have never noticed, the children all hanging off of some of the older Na'vis to get there faster, hunters on their mongooses' who climbed up the trees with ease had disappeared into the treelines. He caught a quick glimpse of Tuk, Kiri and Lo'ak all with Ay'u who had them on the back of a hunters Mongoose disappeared as well.
(Y/N) pulled the other over to the ladder and started to climb up, fast. "Come on, sweetheart." She said, not knowing the nickname he gave her was of an endearing one and not a friendly one, "You'll miss their arrival." And with that, (Y/N) was climbing up faster than normal leaving Jake to follow in her dust.
Jake passed on a circular plank wrapped around the trees, an older Na'vi was sitting there as he pointed to keep going. He could see across many of the trees that there was over a hundreds of them, all occupied with many other Na'vis. He assumed guardians. "Almost there." Jake nodded and kept going.
"In their endless cycle of migration, the dragons returned."
He could see the bright light of the sun getting brighter and brighter, the cheers all becoming louder and louder as he finally made it through the treelines, his eyes widening as he finally saw their spirit siblings. "They are dragons." (Y/N) said as she appeared next to him, many of the taller trees had wooden flooring on them to hold many of the na'vis up, he guessed it was for this.
The dragons all looked like ikrans, many different colors and the spikes on their backs, but their sizes definitely out raked them; even the Great Leonopteryx. As he turned to look, he couldn't even begin to count how many there were in the skies. Some had babies and others a whole family, some were smaller than the older ones and others were probably the biggest in the skies.
Many of the Na'vis put trust in their spirit siblings, watching as many of them would jump off the planks and get caught right away, flying high in the air. He could see that many of children had their own dragons, all of them cheering and flying overtop of his head. "How come I have never seen them before?" Jake asked as he watched (Y/N) smile at her brothers and sisters.
"They stay high above the clouds. They are watchers of the sky, they are the only things the great leonopteryx is afraid of." (Y/N) said, speaking very highly of them. "Look, there comes my spirit brother!" She said, pointing to a dragon that came flying fast to her.
Jake stumbled back, making sure he didn't fall off the plank, but keeping his eyes strained on the dragon who landed in front of her. The most dangerous creature in the sky was now acting like a little baby, nuzzling his giant snout against (Y/N)s' cheek as she rubbed it. "This is Vhagar , the protector of dragons and the keeper of peace and thisโ" She said, her eyes now glued to a smaller dragon who appeared next to them. "This is drogon, his adopted child. The clan has been waiting many moons for Drogon to be born at the dragon pit." Drogon was at least the size of his palm.
Both of the dragons were a dark blue, their scales were a darkened red as their teeth were probably the sharpest he ever seen. The baby dragon made chirping noises as he hopped around on the plank, moving to now rest on Jakes shoulder as he nuzzled his cheek. "We get chosen by the dragons to become their spirit siblings, not the other way around. When we are ready, they will take us to a sacred place and we go through a very long meditative state to see if we are compatible." (Y/N) explained.
"Where did you go?" He asked. (Y/N) softly smiled as she turned to look at Jake. "It varies with each person, Vhagar took me to a beautiful place that you can only get to by dragon back." Chuckling as Vhager nudged her softly.
"Can you understand him?" Jake said, having now moved closer to the massive dragon who was watching him with an eye. "When you bond with a dragon, you can hear their thoughts. They speak to us inside, but you can also make out what they say by their actions." (Y/N) explained.
"It was a time for stories, new friends and new loves."
As Jake was too busy scanning the sky with the dragons, (Y/N) quickly made a conversation with Vhagar. 'I met a boy.' She said.
Up above, Jake could see his kids all cheering loudly with Ay'u; the four of them hanging off of Ay'us' spirit sibling, Arrax, who was doing many tricks in the air, zooming through the air at a pace that he felt would give him a heart attack if he didn't have trust for the older boy.
(Y/N) grabbed Jakes hand to pull him closer to Vhagar before climbing ontop of him, the two of them looking like ants as they were rather small. Jake placed a hand on her hip to let her know he was secured and ready.
She blushed, the feeling of his hand on her thigh made her cheeks heat up as Vhagar took off, drogon placed on Jakes lap. "Look!" She said as she pointed off into the direction where many more Dragons could be seen. Jake and (Y/N) both looked at one another, their smiles widening as they made eye contact with another before turning back.
...
Vhagar landed a bit of a distances away from everyone, dropping the two off on a structure so they could talk. The eclipse now making the colors of the sky beginning to appear in the sky, the dragons now residing before the ceremony tomorrow night.
Jake and (Y/N) sat down, both of them drapping their legs across the edge as the comfortable silence was enough for them. "You surprise me every day." Jake said.
(Y/N) glanced at the other, confused by his comment. "I'm sorry?" She said.
"This, the village, your spirit siblings. I never would have expected to see this." Jake commented once again as he motioned to the sky where a few remaining dragons were playing.
Jake wanted to get to know (Y/N) better, it was hard for him to look her in the eye and be open, and vulnerable with someone other than Ney'tiri who he last opened up to years ago. They talked earlier in the day, but he wanted to finally get to know her better, here. So, he took a deep breath and met her eyes halfway and asked, "Tell me something no one knows about you." He said.
He wanted a friendship with the girl, he felt comfortable and calm with her; their friendship was something he cherished deeply.
(Y/N) rolled her eyes at the question, she was always asked this when bonding with others. "I tend to talk to myself when I am alone." She said with a dry chuckle. Jake laughed as well.
"Really," He insists "Tell me something you wish someone knew about you." He said as the two kept eye contact.
(Y/N) looked puzzled and uncertain at the question, leaning back against the palms of her hands she directed her gaze towards the trees as the colors hit her face just right. She was quiet and that was all it took for Jake to understand her more than he realized.
"I don't know." She finally said after a few moments of quiet, she did know though. Her hands moved to begin to pick at the material of her loincloth. "I'm really into story telling,"
Jake could tell there was more to her answer.
"...and I really like singing." She said pathetically, her voice dropping as she was beginning to really open up. Jake shifted on the flooring, not sure what to say as she was starting to open up to him. He stayed quiet, and (Y/N) could guess that the silence was an invitation to continue.
She shook her head as she went against her own gut feeling to be honest, her fingers now tracing the outer parts of her loincloth and moving to drum softly on her skin. A small smile danced across her lips.
Jake knew the face of humility too well, he was this way when he first was ever open and honest with Ney'tiri, but he waits patently for her to continue. When she does, her face is extremely hot with embarrassment.
"Most days I wait for someone to ask me about how I am," She admitted with a soft heartbeat of hesitation "I wait and wait for someone to sit me down and ask me if I am okay with all the duties I have here." Her voice was now much quieter, her eyes never leaving the sunset that was beginning to drop over the horizon. "I just want to be given that chance."
(Y/N) was still drumming her fingers across her leg, her other hand having begun to rub small circles on her thigh as a nervous tic she did. She still wouldn't look at Jake.
Her smile turned sad, "I think about telling people how I sometimes picture leaving this village and venturing off somewhere else, maybe to the forest or the sea. I think about telling people how I have so much pressure to do well being the future Tsahik, or how I really like the color of the sky when the sun sets." Her head drops as she speaks, shielding her eyes from the other.
"Sometimes I wish I could tell someone why I have to stick around when I do not want to." (Y/N) goes quiet now, regretting saying many things now. Jake couldn't bring himself to say anything as he could only wipe his own eyes, not knowing if he could say anything of value to her.
"Thank you." Jake said, the only thing he could bring himself to really say in a time like this. "Thank you." (Y/N) said in return as the two finally had an understanding of one another.
...
Back at the village, Lo'ak was walking around by himself as he was heading back to his hut; having been hanging out with Ay'u before he was stopped by the boys who attacked him. This time no Fawn.
"Fawn wants us to bring you to him." One of then said, their eyes having no remorse or truth to it. "He wants to apologize for what he did to you, but he got caught up hunting. He said that he wants to make it up to you." The other boy said.
Lo'ak was hesitant, he wanted to fit in but he also knew how much damage the other said with bringing up his mother and brother. "I'm not going to." Lo'ak said as he kept walking, shoulders bumping into the boys,
The two boys looked at one another before one blurted out, "Fawn said he would let you see your brother!" Eyye, the boy who blurted it out, tried to continue with the lie as best as he could. "Fawn felt really, really, bad."
Lo'ak didn't remember the last time he saw his brother and his judgement was clouded, any possibility to see Neteyam he would take it. "Let's do it."

AN;; The next chapter will be in three day times! I want the next one to be relatively long because the ceremony for the dragons will be in the same chapter as Lo'ak finding something. I want it all to tie together, but I am trying to write it well. ๐ญ We finally hit 200 likes and 2.47 Reads !!! I remember when this story had only 500 reads and I was so excited to make rankings! I am going to push this story out for awhile because so much more will be happening and I want the burn to be slow, but also the drama, the smut, the fighting, everything cant fit in like 10 chapters, you know?? Thank you to everyone who stood by my side and compliments this story, and tells me how they like it! If you want to see something, definitely let me know!!
