The next morning, and much to everyone's disappointment that none of their spirit siblings had come, Kiri was out near the only grassy area of the village laying on her stomach, her eyes watching the grass move softly with the breeze.

Watching the different lengths of the grass move at different speeds, she hadn't noticed Fawn come over with his group of friends, all in their hands were lit torches having been on the way for a hunt. "What is she doing?" Fawn said with a strange look, his friends chuckling as they lightly pushed her with the end of their torches. "Kuri." Fawn said, purposely messing up her name.

Kiri sat up, breaking the concentration she was in to stare at the other. "I'm sorry?" She said, having no idea the boys were laughing at her and calling her name wrong.

Fawn gave the girl a look, his hands now empty as he passed the torch off to his friends. "Are you a... freak?" He said. "All you do is run off alone and stare at the grass." The future olo'eyktan spoke. Kiri moved to her feet as she rolled her eyes, having been in a good mood and now ruined.

Fawn pressed her, the group of them now surrounding her as they all laughed at her being uncomfortable. "Let me ask you something, did your brother do this?" Fawn said, his tone mocking as he didn't care that he was speaking below the line of such a touchy subject to Kiri.

Kiri stopped moving, feeling as though she was punched in gut at the mention of Neteyam. "Leave me alone, Fawn." She said, moving to walk away only to get stopped once again by the other. "I said leave me alone."

As the group began to laugh more and more, Lo'ak arrived and heard everything, having been coming to find Kiri to let her know they were going with Ay'u to hunt. "Hey!" He said loudly.

Fawn turned and Lo'ak wasted no time to send a punch to his face, the group was stunned. Never seeing someone defend themselves that way. "Don't ever talk about my brother again, bitch." Lo'ak stood over top of Fawn, not caring his little group was surrounding him now.

Fawn rose to his feet as he growled, but had a mocking look on his face. "Your mommy wouldn't be too happy to know you are like this, huh?" Fawn said before immediately attacking Lo'ak as they started to fight. Punches were thrown as well as the vulgar language, Lo'ak was holding his own well.

Kiri moved behind the group, trying to mend the situation as well as help her brother fight; picking one of the torches up, she hit one of the other boys who fell to his knees.

This made them all turn, now in a stance to attack her. Kiri wouldn't admit, she was scared of the others, the group being much bigger than she was, but she still held her own.

As Fawn went to attack, Ay'u suddenly appeared in front of Kiri as he caught Fawn right in the middle of his attack, hands placed on his chest as he pushed the other back. "Leave them alone, Fawn." He said, eyes narrowed and voice deep. Behind the group was (Y/N) checking on Lo'ak who had a pained look on his face from being jumped.

"Hey, hey, you okay?" (Y/N) said. Ay'u and (Y/N) both were getting worried as the others hadn't arrived, usually it wouldn't be a problem, but they were never late and always on time or super early, so the two siblings went to find them.

"Move out of the way, brother." Fawn said to Ay'u, both of them glaring daggers at one another. Ay'u pushed him back once more, his arm behind him incase he needed to push Kiri back for protection. Fawn hadn't notice (Y/N) get up, but when he did, he immediately let out a yelp.

(Y/N) gripped the others ear tightly, hissing with anger, Fawn was caught off guard having swung his arm and hitting her directly in the eye before he immediately surrendered on his knees. "(Y/N)! Let me go." Fawn said, a whine leaving his lips. She looked at his friends who immediately ran off, motioning her head to Ay'u to bring the others home, she let go of his ear before pushing him to the floor.

As the two were left alone, (Y/N) paced in front of Fawn with such an anger expression she could almost cry. "What is wrong with you Fawn!" She started off, "Why the fuck would you say that!" Using the new word she learned from Jake, she made a grabbing motion to his throat before a growl left her throat.

"You don't understand because you are so intune with Eywa and everything they do." Fawn said, keeping himself in a kneeling position. She had the upperhand when talking to him, he knew that; he knew it well. He never would talk back to (Y/N), not after the oath they made to one another when they were kids, but he crossed the line and he was about to pay for it. "You can't trust them, I heard from others the truth about the deaths."

(Y/N) felt the bruise forming on her face, not mad about that at all, mad that he would ever say such words to them. "You disrespected them, Fawn. You spoke on their mother and brother who passed away, you." She took a deep breath, closing her eyes before stopping, tears falling as she looked at her brother. "You know better than this Fawn. They are going through so much and you want to be this high and mighty olo'eyktan? That pain and disrespect won't ever go away."

Fawn finally stood up, not understanding why she was so emotional for the forest people when they were the reason for so much death. "They brought that death to themselves." He said, moving to keep eye contact with her. "Maybe I shouldn't have said anything, maybe I went to farโ€”, but they are going to be the reason we have deaths."

(Y/N) couldn't listen anymore, she lifted a hand up to the other as she shook her head. "You disappointed me." She said, reaching up to her throat to rip their oath bead off before tossing it in his hands.

"(Y/N). I'm your family? Why are you doing this? I'm your family." Fawn said, catching the bead in his hands as he watched his sister walk off.

"When you figure out how to be a decent Na'vi, go and apologize, but for now? Don't talk to me." (Y/N) said before leaving the other alone in his thoughts, questioning if he did go too far.

...

Back at the village, (Y/N) was alone in her own little secret area she would occasionally bring Jake to when he wanted to learn about their ways. Having some medicine, she tried her best to find where the cut and bruise was forming, wanting to be left alone with her back to the door.

Hearing someone come, her ear twitched back in annoyance not bothering to turn and look. "Fawn, I told you to leave me the fuckโ€”" She stopped when she heard the familiar laugh.

Jake couldn't help but softly laugh at the new word she learned from him, "You should really stop using that word, it's bad." Jake said as he approached the other from behind.

(Y/N) kept her back to him, not bothering to turn as she continued to put the medicine on her wound. "Hey, hey." Jake said as he moved in front of the other, hands on her shoulders as his eyes widen. "Your eye. Give it to me." Jake said, not bothering to listen for an answer as he took it out of her hands.

(Y/N) let him, not in the mood for any more arguments with people, especially not Jake. "Thank you." She said, her eye closed as he put the creame on her eye.

Jake gave her look, a neutral one on his face. "I should be thanking you. They told me you defended Neteyam and Ney'tiri." Jake said, finally saying the others name to her.

"My brother is stupid and ignorant, he is." She felt herself get choked up again. "I'm sorry, I didn't know he would say or do that to Lo'ak and Kiri." She said as she pushed the others hand away from her eye. "I know it must be hard on them to have lost someone deeply, my brother is.. I can'tโ€”won't defend his actions as he doesn't deserve it." Jake listened to the other, their hands still interlocked with one another as she spoke.

(Y/N) still couldn't pinpoint why she felt so emotional about what happened or as to why many tears were falling, but she knew it was worrying for the other because she was suddenly engulfed in a hug. The two just holding one another. "Fawn is just difficult person and I am so tired of helping and defending him."

Jake finally understood, the burden of being the eldest and watching them be the opposite of what she raised them to be. "Your brother makes his own actions and you don't have to be the one to worry about it. It hurt to hear what he said, but not everyone will be the same to think and be understanding." Jake said.

(Y/N) couldn't process his words well enough, she was too caught up with still thinking about what Fawn said and did. "(Y/N), I'm not mad at you for what Fawn did." Jake could tell she was overthinking.

"Sweetheart, thank you for being the reason we feel like we belong here." Jake said.

(Y/N) softly grabbed his hand, eyes watering as she let out a pathetic, yet funny, laugh. "You belong here with us. You are my friend, I see you."
