sick
Jungkook took his steaming hot tea into his hands to calm his beating heart.
He didn't date? Well Jungkook had heard that before, but maybe this time it would be harder to win this filter over...
"Oh okay..." Jungkook said insecurely. "My name is-"
"Jeon Jungkook... I know," Min said, slowly bringing his hand down from his ear. "You're dating Jim and Jiminie..."
Jungkook straightened his back a little and cleared his throat. Was that true? Was he techincally dating two people? Jungkook frowned at himself. Well fuck, I'm committing polygamy....
"Yes that's right..." the student answerd, trying his hardest to seem confident in his answer.
"Are you going to try to have sexual relations with me?" Min asked with a perfectly serene expression.
Jungkook was just about to drink from his tea but froze immediatly. "W-what? N-no! I mean, well... no..."
Min looked at Jungkook without wearing a clear expression. His piercing eyes made even more of an impact because of the dark eyeshadow that decorated them, but something in Jungkook told him that that was Jim's fault, and Min simply hadn't brothered to take it off.
"I don't have time to entertain you at the moment, I need to work on my homework and listen to some lectures. I'm sorry."
Jungkook wanted to groan in frustration. But he didn't.
Instead he decided to take a risk and reached out slowly to press Min's laptop shut.
"I'm sure your mathematics can wait for a moment," he said, looking Min deeply in the eyes as if he'd be able to see the filter's soul if he gazed hard enough.
Min gulped and looked beyond intimedated. His eyes fluttered and Jungkook could see his breathing was starting to quicken.
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck
"I mean, isn't there anything you want to do for fun? Something we could do together? If you don't want to date me I understand but we could be friends atleast right?"
Jungkook lost his dominating gaze like it had never been there and instead, tried a softer approach. He in no way had any intention of causing another volcano to errupt within Jimin.
"Wouldn't you want to be friends?"
Min played with his fingers and started to calm down.
Thank god.
"Why would you want to be friends with me?" The boy asked, not meeting Jungkook's eyes as he seemed to ponder on the question.
Jungkook felt bad for the filter right away. It didn't look like the guy ever really had any contact with anyone other than Jin. He probably had less social skills than Jim...
"Because... there's this person that I'm in love with... and you're part of him," Jungkook said softly, carefully looking up to give Min a kind smile.
Min still looked hesitend. "I'm not like Jim and Jiminie though... I'm not that fun to be around..."
Jungkook immediatly felt excited. Was the filter opening up to him? Finally he had something to work with.
"Well I can be akward as fuck too sometimes as you might've seen, I really want to get to know you Min. We don't have to talk if you don't want to, but maybe we could just hangout together?"
Jungkook looked at Min with hopeful eyes. "Anything? Is there anything you'd want to do?"
Min was very obviously overwhelmed and insecure. The boy waited for a full minute before he answered.
"Well... there is this new movie in the cinema I've been wanting to se-"
"Then we'll do that!" Jungkook said like a happy puppy, smiling brightly at the less assertive filter.
Min only blinked at Jungkook as the energetic student grabbed his laptop and sped off to deliver it to Jin.
"We're going to the movies!" Jungkook nearly yelled at Jin, almost jumping up and down out of happiness.
Jin took the laptop from Jungkook and glanced at the very nervous Min standing behind him.
"How did you- Jungkook this is great but Min does need to focus on his studies. He is out nearly the least out of all the filters and he needs his time for school."
Jungkook sighed and shook his head. "Well even more reason to let him have some fun. He deserves it right?"
Jin had to admit to that. "True..." he said slowly.
"Then it's settled, and I'm paying," Jungkook added quickly, escaping Jin before the older man could refuse him.
"Come on Min, today's gonna be great!" Jungkook said, beaming like a hyper child as he dragged Min with him.
Jungkook perfectly realised he was reminding himself of Jiminie with the way he was acting. But since Min was even more akward than Jungkook, the student felt like it was neccesairy.
Jungkook suprised himself with how well he could adapt to Jimin's filters so far. It made him a little proud of himself if he were honest. He was confident now that everything would be just fine. And once he would meet Minnie again... he'd be ready.
~~~
During the travel towards their destination, Min was completely silent like a frightened animal in the backseat of the uber. So Jungkook took that time to tell Min about his school project and to start filming him a bit as well.
The boy tensed up as Jungkook took out his camera but that was okay. All that mattered was that Min would be himself.
"So... you actually didn't tell me what movie you wanted to see," Jungkook said, trying to seem casual as as possible as he focused his video camera on the boy next to him.
Min looked up for the first time since he agreed to go to the movies with Jungkook.
"Uhm, Avengers endgame..."
Jungkook lit up. He'd been wanting to see that movie too! Though... it had been a while since the movie came out... was it even still playing?
"I'd love to watch it but why haven't you gone before? I don't think it's in the cinemas anymore..."
Min looked down again and Jungkook was afraid he'd said something wrong.
"I don't come out that often... so I don't really have the time..." the boy answered sadly.
Jungkook frowned and saw Min's glasses slide further down his nose when he hung his head low.
"Why is that?" The student asked seriously, reaching forward to gently push Min's glasses back up his cute little nose.
The action wasn't starteling in it's nature, but Min still flinched slightly, looking at Jungkook with widened eyes as if the man had done something worthy of fear.
Jungkook smiled at Min, and secretely loved to see how shocked the man looked at the kind move. What if no one had ever done that for him before?
"I... I guess just because the others are more useful to Jimin. I mean... I like to think I'm more useful than Diminie and Lil J. but maybe... maybe I'm not."
Jungkook cocked his head sympathetically. "Why do you think you exist?"
Min shrugged, "I don't know..."
The filter started touching his ear again, a habit Jungkook found himself getting used to.
"I don't know what happened to Jimin when he was younger to cause his disorder. It's not in my memory..."
The filter looked at Jungkook instead of the camera. "I really couldn't tell you..."
Jungkook sighed and nodded, though he couldn't deny how curious he was about everything. Why were there only three filters that knew about Jimin's past? Was it so bad that some filters simply blocked it from their memory to be able to function?
"Min, would you be okay with it if... instead of going to the cinema, we just watch the movie at my place? Because I'm pretty sure it doesn't play anymore..."
Min tucked his hands between his legs like a shy teenager and sucked in his lips. "I could just go back to the café as well... you could watch the movie with another filter and get something out of it too."
Jungkook frowned. "Get something out of it?" He asked, an indignant chuckle accidentally falling from his lips.
"Sex," Min said plainly, shrinking into himself even more than the filter was already doing.
Jungkook was frozen for a few seconds before he shut off his camera and gulped harshly. "That's not... I wouldn't..."
"Some of Jiminie's previous boyfriends did..." Min said so softly it was almost inaudible.
Jungkook felt like the muffy air inside the uber was choking him.
"But usually Minnie would take over if the men would be too... too much."
The uber came to a stop in front of the cinema, but for quite a while Jungkook didn't know what to do or say. He thought thay by simply being there he could erase all the bad memories from Jimin's filter's minds. That that would be enough. But maybe he was wrong... maybe he would never be enough...
"If you don't want to come to my place I understand..." Jungkook said, sitting back in defeat. The boy felt so foolish for thinking he could connect with all of the filters. If he couldn't even connect with Min how would he with Diminie? Or with Minnie? It was hopeless...
"I... I did really want to see the movie..." Min whispered, carefully looking up at Jungkook from the corner of his eye. "And you... you do seem nice."
Jungkook's head shot up with eyes that were slightly teary.
"If Jim trusts you... I think I can give you a chance..."
Jungkook slowly let a grand smile creep back onto his face. "Are... are you serious?" He asked like a child who'd ben given a candybar.
Min nodded, and for the first time since Jungkook had met the filter, the man gave him a small smile back, and it suited him wonderfully.
"Y-yeah..."
~~~
"TAE!" Jungkook yelled as he entered the house, respectfully taking Min's coat to hang it up before violently throwing his own onto the dinnertable.
Jungkook walked into the livingroom and muttered a silent "shit" when he saw not just Taehyung, but Namjoon as well sitting on the couch while watching a movie.
The last time Jungkook had seen Namjoon was when he was in his depressed state over not being able to see Jimin. He hadn't confronted Namjoon about anything since there had been no place for anger amidst his sadness back then, but now...
"The fuck are you doing here?" Jungkook asked sharply, crossing his arms over each other with a hateful glare.
Min carefully walked after Jungkook like a scared animal and cocked his head at the two other men. "Who are they?" He asked quietly, before unexpectedly, grabbing Jungkook's bicep with his small hands as if it brought him a sense of security.
Jungkook felt like an explosion of butterflies started raging in his stomache. But he had to keep it together. It had never been this hard to keep a glare from turning into a large smile.
"One of them is my roommate... the other is a piece of crap," Jungkook said, hiding the fact that he was screaming on the inside at Min's small gesture of trust.
Namjoon sighed deeply. "You're still pressed about that? I brought the guy back eventually didn't I? And look, you guys still seem to be dating even though this relationship sent you into a weekend of depression, sadness and sulking."
"Namjoon..." Jungkook said with a trembling voice, finding himself starting to seeth with a mindnumbing anger. How could someone so smart be so dumb at the same time?
"You have no idea how much danger you put Jimin in by triggering him like that!" Jungkook yelled, flexing his muscles which made Min whimper slightly. The filter still held on to the student however, and it made Jungkook glad.
"You think it's perfectly okay to be threatened and called a psychopath for a disorder that came from trauma that wasn't even your fault?! He was a kid Namjoon! Someone hurt, or abused, or took advantage of a kid and you call that kid crazy now?! Now that those disgusting actions have showed it's consequences? Jimin is not the one that deserves this kind of shit! He's never hurt someone like the sick fuck that hurt him! If you treat him with any disrespect one more time I will beat you up Namjoon! So keep your fucking mouth shut and worry about your own lovelife if one day you ever get one!"
Jungkook panted like a bull before taking Min's hand, pulling the boy with him towards his room.
"Have fun with your garbage movie!"
