After a full afternoon of helping Jin in the café, Jungkook felt exhausted.

The two men had taken a seat to rest and enjoyed a nice cup of tea together.

"Thanks for helping out Jungkook... I really misjudged you the first time we met," Jin said, warming his face to the hot steam that twirled up from his teacup.

"Yeah you called me a weakminded idiot," Jungkook chuckled bitterly, remembering that chaotic day clearly.

"Sorry about that," Jin said, "I lose my temper rather quickly as you might've noticed."

The two men simultaniouly took a sip from their tea, both of them enjoying the moment of tranquility in their hectic weeks.

"Got any plans this weekend?" Jin asked, sighing deeply with a small, content smile hanging from his lips.

"Working on my school project," Jungkook said, beaming at the thought of his amazing new idea.

Jin perked up a brow. "Never seen anyone this happy about school before."

Jungkook giggled like a child and held his cup of tea close to his chest. "You'll understand when you see my ending project."

"Okay then..." Jim said, squinting his eyes sceptically at the student.

"What about you?" Jungkook asked, secretely hoping to determine Jimin's schedule at the same time.

"Work," Jin said plainly, bitterly taking another sip of his drink.

"Jungkook," he started after swallowing. "I'm sure Jim will call or text you later. He just needs to rest for a moment I'm sure."

Jungkook hummed and nodded, hoping dearly that Jin was right. Was he immature for just wanting Jimin to be happy all the time? Probably, but that didn't mean he was going to stop hoping for it.

"I should go then," Jungkook said after finishing his tea, standing up to give Jin a hand.

"Yeah, thank you again, I'll see you around."

The two men shook hands and Jungkook left, off to face the storm at home.

~~~
"I swear to you I DIDN'T! Now stop prying into my personal life alright?"
"But I heard-"
"Stop it!" Jungkook ordered sternly, coaming a hand through his hair to calm down.
Taehyung sat across from Jungkook at the dinner table carrying an expression as if someome had died.
"I am so tired of everyone treating Jimin like a damn baby," Jungkook grumbled. "Grown men Tae, both of us..." he reminded. "I think..."
Taehyung pouted and draped himself across the table. "I can't help it Kook. He is mentally unstable, are you realising that?"
Jungkook looked at Taehyung and his brain stuttered at the stupidity. "Yes, yes Tae I realise that. I thought you were the one that supported me?"
"I do! I am! But... I had a talk with Namjoon..."
Jungkook balded his fist at the name of his former best friend.
"And he told me to watch this movie about a guy with multiple personalities, and in the movie this guys kidnaps these children and eats them..."
Jungkook blinked at Taehyung, feeling a few of his braincells perish as he listened to the man.
"So now you think, Jimin kidnaps children to eat them..."
Taehyung shrugged. "W-well maybe not that but-"
"I am... going to my room now," Jungkook said, feeling that he was right on the verge of an explosion of anger.
"Jk," Taehyung called as the man stood up and left.
But Jungkook wouldn't listen.
He was tired and he didn't have the energy to convince his friend that Jimin wasn't a psychopath. Jungkook felt drained. Emotionally and physically. Jimin deserved better. He derved so much more. He deserved a group of friends to call his own, and a large family to keep him safe. Love and appreciation and a flurishing future. He deserved pity even if he didn't want it, and he deserved all the happiness in the world.
Jungkook built himself a tent in his room and lay tucked away inside it.
He was staring at his bright phonescreen in the darkness, waiting and waiting for his boyfriend to let him know he was okay.
But minutes turned into hours, and the warm covers around Jungkook begged him to fall asleep.
So he did.
~~~

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Jungkook groaned as he opened his eyes. An alarm? It's saturday...

Jungkook grabbed his phone to shut down his alarm only to realise that it wasn't what had awoken him.

"Jin?" The student asked, voice groggy and low from just waking up.

"Hey Jungkook, I uhm... I was just calling to tell you that... maybe don't come by this weekend..."

Jungkook frowned, his lazy brain still in the process of fully waking up. "What do you mean? Why?"

"It's just... Jimin is having a rough time at the moment, he wants to be alone..."

Jungkook sat up straight the moment Jimin's name was mentioned. "What's going on?"

The student heard Jin take a sharp breath. "What I told you before... the bad parts... "

Jungkook jumped out of bed and looked around his room to locate his shoes. "I'm coming, is he sleeping or-"

"No, Jungkook, he really doesn't want you to see him right now. Just give him a few days..."

Jungkook froze in place, a hundred throughts racing through his head. "But Jin...."

"I know you want to help him Jungkook, but it's better this way. He'll be okay. You'll see him again soon enough."

Jungkook's eagerness to race to Jimin and Jin's place was immediatly put in a box. He stayed silent, the fact that he couldn't do anything to help Jimin zipping his mouth shut.

"I'll call when there's updates," Jin said, sympathy clearly evident in his tone.

Jungkook nodded but didn't speak, and when Jin ended the call, he dropped himself on his bed feeling just as drained as yeserday evening.

"FUCK!" He yelled, throwing his pillow to the other side of the room before beating up his matress until his face coloured deep red.

The door to Jungkook's room swung open.

"Kook what's gotten into you?" Taehyung asked, frowning with concern at the raging student.

Jungkook looked up with messy hair and glossy eyes, looking feral like a wild animal that hadn't been treated well. "I can't help him," the man said softly, speaking calmly despite his explosive behaviour.

Taehyung copied the helpless expression from Jungkook's face and came into the room to sit down next to his friend.

"I hate seeing you like this Jungkook... but this is what you chose... you knew this would happen."

Jungkook grimaced slightly and looked away. "I know that," he mumbled.

Taehyung carefully placed a hand over Jungkook's shoulder. "Is it really worth it Jungkook? Being with him? If it gives you this kind of pain..."

Jungkook wanted to scream in Taehyung's face. He wanted to yell and shout and make the man understand that he needed Jimin... maybe more than the model needed him.

But a small part of the student was doubtful, and it made him question everything.

This relationship would never see a light at the end of the tunnel, it would just be a road in darkness. That's why no one held hope for them, that's why good moments didn't feel as good as they should. Because there was a grey cloud hanging above Jungkook and Jimin that shielded them from the sun.

"But what if I love him?" Jungkook whispered, testing the word out on his lips to see if it felt good.

Jungkook felt Taehyung's stare burn on the side of his face. "Do you?" He asked, his voice free of judgement or prejudice.

"Everyone keeps telling me that it's bad if I do Tae," Jungkook said, voice quivering as he tried not to cry. "Even you, even though you said you'd support me..."

Taehyung took his arm away from Jungkook. "I know... I'm sorry. I still believe it's your choice Kook. I just... don't want to see you in sadness over a man that comes with so much baggage."

Jungkook stared at the wall feeling more than just a little numb.

"I can't see him this weekend," he said stoicly.

Taehyung sighed. "Why is that?"

"He's going through some shit," Jungkook answered, already knowing what his friend was thinking.

"Well..." Taehyung said, "I can't imagine how that might hurt, but maybe... you can take this time to think about things. Be sure that you want to keep going with this."

Taehyung waited for Jungkook's answer but when minutes passed he realised he wasn't going to receive one.

"Take your mind off of it Kook," the man said as he rose from the bed.

He took one last look at Jungkook and sighed, before walking out the room. "Focus on your school project maybe."

~~~
Jungkook hadn't done anything the entire weekend.
He'd eaten about 10 packs of ramen and stayed buried in bed for 40 hours out of the 48.
He'd come out of the room for a while when Namjoon came over, and he, Taehyung and Jungkook watched a movie together. The movie wasn't funny, and only Namjoon laughed. The man never once adressed what had happened with Jimin as if Jungkook's boyfriend didn't exist. So Jungkook left the men before the movie had even finished and told them he wasn't hungry when they ordered pizza.
He hadn't looked at his schoolproject all weekend, and basically lived on the verge of breaking down.
Until Jin called Sunday evening.
"He's decently stable. He's finally sleeping for more than three hours so... if you want to come by tomorrow..."
"Yes!" Jungkook yelled, suprising himself by showing the first sign of actual emotion in a long time.
Jin chuckled from the other side of the phone. "Alright then, see ya tomorrow."
Jungkook wanted to jump into the air out of joy.
Fuck the sadness, fuck the pain, yes it was worth it, Taehyung and Namjoon could choke on shoes. Jungkook was going to see Jimin again and nothing could stop his excitement.
~~~'

The day was quite young and the red roses in Jungkook's hand smelled wonderful.

He stood before Jin's café, trembling out of pure joy. He was sure all his doubts would disappear when he saw Jimin. He would feel home again. Right in the man's strong muscular arm-

"Jungkookie!!"

Jungkook recognised the voice immediatly.

A man with side-clipped hair jumped into his arms and completely crushed the roses he has brough with him.

It was Jiminie.

"I missed you so so so so much!" The boy squeeled, clamping himself to Jungkook like a baby sloth.

"I missed you too cupcake, more than you know," Jungkook said, dropping the roses as he held Jiminie close and buried his face in the man's neck.

Why would the man need flowers if he himself smelled identical to one.

"You look gorgeous baby..." Jungkook said, staring at Jiminie and melting at the boy's cute look. His blushed cheeks and glittery eyemake-up, his denim overall with a pastel shirt underneath. He'd missed the gentle boy more than he realised. "You look adorable cupcake," he said, tapping the man's chin with a smile.

Jiminie giggled and was visibly charmed. "It's not like I got pretty for you or something," the boy mumbled, before fleeing into the café as quickly as possible.

Jungkook watched Jiminie go fondly, and didn't even remember why he had gotten so sad in the first place.

Jimin was fine, he determined, before following the happy boy inside feeling nothing but gladness.
